On June 1, 1973, Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney Mealor, founded Plumbing Distributors, Inc. at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The small business was run by four individuals, including Glad and Sid, specializing in counter sales and delivery.

On February 13, 1976, we began distributing American Standard products. This marked a pivotal moment for PDI. With the American Standard line, we demonstrated our competitiveness in the plumbing market. This success paved the way for us to partner with other leading plumbing brands, such as A.O. Smith water heaters and Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

With PDI's growth, the need for a bigger facility became apparent. We wanted to stay connected to our roots in Lawrenceville. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. Our Corporate Headquarters were based at 20 Collins Hill Road from 1984 to 2006, but we needed to find a new location to facilitate further growth.
