Now, as the sole owner of this 70-year-old local establishment, Don employs his two sons: Tap, a master plumber with 19 years of experience, and Jason, who manages office operations. Libby, his wife, serves as the office manager for Athens Plumbing. He also has two other children, one of whom is former UGA Bulldog place-kicker Billy Bennett, and a daughter who is not currently involved in the business.

Carson Plumbing was founded by Chuck Carson in 1982. Initially, it operated from his home, with his wonderful wife Penny handling much of the administrative tasks at the kitchen table. Business quickly flourished for Chuck, leading him to hire assistants and acquire additional trucks and tools as necessary. As the business expanded, Mr. Carson purchased the property where Carson Plumbing now resides at 259 Wynburn Ave in Athens.

A lightning fire in 1989 wiped out the original wooden structure, and a new building was constructed. Since that time, the company has been based in this new building. In February 2008, Chuck Carson sold his long-standing business to his sons, Josh and Pete Carson. These new leaders have worked hard to uphold the same honest and respectful relationship with their customers and the community that their father instilled in them. Mike McCain, who joined the company in 1986, now manages Carson Plumbing.
