Our head plumber Richard Hume started Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with a few tools and containers of fittings from the back of his truck. Like any determined entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, distributing flyers to find new customers and connections. Despite a difficult downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persisted; each year, we grew our services by bringing on new team members, equipment, and tools to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system provider. What started as a single-person operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 employees. Though we still grow, Rick's original commitment remains the foundation of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on hard work and honesty and deliver the quality of work we would expect in our own homes.
Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.
Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to study at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he competed in golf and majored in finance. Meanwhile, Rick nurtured a increasing passion for plumbing; he earned his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and started what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.
After graduating from his degree, Brandon helped in hand-digging Rick's first residential project in 2009. He decided to join his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the business side of the operation.
