Yet, after weathering the 2008-2009 recession, he came to see that working for contractors offered little control over his business flow as he wanted.

In 2012, Verhoff redirected his focus to strictly home service, at first partnering with a friend on a business that had offices in the state of Florida and two other states. When he acquired his partner on the Florida portion of the company in 2016, he needed a new brand and image. That's how Plumbing & Cooling Nerds came to life.
