Sonny Stokes started our company over six decades ago in response to a shortage of professional, quality plumbing companies in the area. Located in Lake Worth, FL, our office and fabrication shop is still active led by the leadership of his daughter Susan.

Our company developed its presence throughout South Florida, becoming a leader in the construction of condominiums, healthcare and research facilities, government and educational buildings, and private commercial complexes. As we increased our operations in construction, the need for a dedicated service division became apparent. Initially beginning by servicing the buildings it had constructed, Stokes Mechanical's service department expanded exponentially. With the launch of the General Plumbing branch to Stokes in June of 2013, it has become an even greater force across the region.

During 1995, Sonny passed the leadership to his daughter Susan, who had been with the company at the company since 1983. Initially working as a receptionist, Susan worked her way up becoming bookkeeper, lead estimator, Vice President, and now serves as President and CEO. She obtained a state license for air conditioning in 1989 as well as the plumbing license two years later, making her the first the only female mechanical contractor in Palm Beach. She garnered numerous awards for her success as a prominent female business owner while also serving actively as a member of the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board for five years from 1997 to 2002.
