Michael's ancestor William S. ""Snooky"" Phillips founded ""Miami Plumbing & Heating Co."" in 1899 in Miami, Florida. William's ancestor participated in construction & early plumbing systems in the mid to late 1800s. Despite limited information about him than that, family history says he worked in construction and plumbing, employed by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler. Snooky is regarded as one of the pioneering plumbing contractors in Florida to be granted a plumbing contractor's license by Dade County, thanks to his parent's alleged affiliation with Henry Flagler & the fact that at that time little or no regulation or plumbing code at any level of government existed. Back then the contractor's licensing took place at the county level and not at the state level like it is now. For Michael's family, the term ""Grandfathered"" has a true implication.
