Before I was born, my Father opened his own business as an electrical contractor in the Covina area. As soon as we could wield a hammer, he brought me, my older sister, and younger brother to his work sites. I fondly recall gathering scraps of wiring and conduit, crafting ""art"" with my siblings to pass the time while our father was busy.

We experienced him stepping away from family gatherings for emergencies, receiving endless phone calls, attending meetings, and working late. Even though he was always busy, he was heavily involved in our lives, coaching our sports teams, making every play and being there when we needed him most.

Upon graduating high school, my father was providing services to residents and businesses in San Diego. I relocated to San Diego and started working as my father's assistant. I handled tasks like assembling ceiling fans, installing outlets, wiring recessed lighting, and managing his scheduling and invoicing.
