I, Raymond Gray, come from a long lineage of plumbers. For many years, my great-grandfather and grandfather worked as pipe fitters on military ships. After leaving the Navy in the 1960s, my grandfather became a Union member. Eventually, he specialized in residential and commercial plumbing services and repairs.

Born in 1961, my father absorbed plumbing skills from my grandfather as a child. I was born in 1977 and recall crawling under houses at age eight, playing in the dirt while watching my dad make repairs. I began doing repairs around the age of twelve. Though I initially disliked plumbing, growing up in a low-income family pushed me to learn a trade.

After dropping out of high school, I got my GED and set out on my own. In 2001, I started working alongside my dad once more. In 2004, I established A-1 Total Service Plumbing and have continued forward ever since. I work with my dad every day.
