He loaded Carnation milk trucks at night while working as a plumbing apprentice during the day. Lloyd earned his contractor's license in 1965 and relocated to Thousand Oaks to start Lloyd's Plumbing.

Lloyd stepped back in 1980, passing the reins to his son Ed. Ed aspired to be the best while ensuring a high level of professionalism. He implemented clean vehicles, uniformed staff, helpful customer service representatives, and a “we can handle anything” mindset for the company.
