Based in San Francisco, Denis O'Halloran leads the company as owner/operator. This legacy continues from his father, Frank O'Halloran. In 1964, the company was established as Hayes Valley Hardware, Heating and Plumbing in San Francisco. The business moved to the Southwood Shopping Center at Orange and El Camino in South San Francisco in 1966, leaving Filmore behind.
During his time at Arch Bishop Riordan High School, Denis took on a job at Southwood Hardware, Plumbing and Heating, helping his father and his father's partner, Bill Sylvia. Upon graduating from Riordan High School in 1981, Denis acquired a partnership in the company from Bill Sylvia. At that point, he committed to working full-time in the business. I started doing plumbing for a community member, the owner of Bright Plumbing, in 1982 after coming back to the Bay Area from my time teaching English in Asia for two and a half years.

I care about environmental issues, and have made numerous visits with a group to advocate Congress, the executive branch and international organizations regarding forest conservation and the environment at my expense.

I am actively engaged in environmental advocacy, working against egregiously bad development, and am currently participating in Pacificans for Sustainable Development, the climate committee in Pacifica, & the city council designated ""Climate Action Plan Task Force"".
