The owner and operator, Denis O'Halloran, hails from He follows in the footsteps of his father, Frank O'Halloran. In 1964, the company was established as Hayes Valley Hardware, Heating and Plumbing in San Francisco. The business moved to the Southwood Shopping Center at Orange and El Camino in South San Francisco in 1966, leaving Filmore behind.
Denis began his journey in plumbing while he was a student at Arch Bishop Riordan High School, taking on work at Southwood Hardware, Plumbing and Heating, helping his father and his father's partner, Bill Sylvia. Upon graduating from Riordan High School in 1981, Denis acquired a partnership in the company from Bill Sylvia. At that point, he committed to working full-time in the business. As a Certified Plumbing Inspector, Denis has also taught apprenticeship courses at San Mateo Adult School, affiliated with the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association.
