In 1972, I started as a plumbing apprentice in Culver City, California. In 1977, I started my own plumbing venture in Marina Del Rey, California, mainly working on new construction. In 1978, I closed that business and moved to Palm Springs, California. I then joined Barrett Plumbing, which was one of the most reputable plumbing companies in the valley at that time. I continued there until 1980, when I made the decision to start my own business again. This time, I teamed up with Chuck Barrett, the owner's grandson. This led to the creation of the name KC's 23 1/2 Hour Plumbing. In 1980, I acquired Chuck's share, and KC's 23 1/2 Hour Plumbing has been serving the Valley since.
