I was an active member of the Paso Robles Future Farmers of America (FFA), leading various projects and serving in officer roles. I earned several scholarships and went on to study at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. I initially studied Animal Science before transferring to Mechanical Engineering. During my college years, I worked with a local water purification firm, traveling worldwide to design and implement their products in prospective clients' facilities. In 2003, I established a partnership with my father, specializing in Backflow Prevention as plumbing contractors. In 2007, I earned my plumbing license and created Henry Schmitz Plumbing. Since then, I have contributed to the California State License Board plumbing code review committee and engaged in many community service activities.
