The owner and operator, Denis O'Halloran, hails from He follows in the footsteps of his father, Frank O'Halloran. In 1964, the company was established as Hayes Valley Hardware, Heating and Plumbing in San Francisco. The business moved to the Southwood Shopping Center at Orange and El Camino in South San Francisco in 1966, leaving Filmore behind.
Denis began his journey in plumbing while he was a student at Arch Bishop Riordan High School, taking on work after school and on weekends at Southwood Hardware, Plumbing and Heating, assisting his father and his partner, Bill Sylvia. After completing his education at Riordan High School in 1981, Denis purchased a partnership from Bill Sylvia. He then dedicated himself to full-time work in the company. Denis holds the title of Certified Plumbing Inspector and has taught apprenticeship courses at San Mateo Adult School in collaboration with the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association. He is a certified backflow tester recognized by the American Water Works Association. Denis possesses a C-36 Plumbing License from the State of California and a C-20 Heating/HVAC License. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and has been happily married for 20 years.

The closing of the company in the early 2000s motivated me to manage Daystar Plumbing as my main venture, upholding service in the Marin area, the city, and the surrounding areas as I had with Lipsey/Mill Valley Plumbing, and to carry on guarantee work with Kohler Co., Bosch/AquaStar, and additional manufacturers.

I am thankful to both men for the invaluable experience and wisdom I learned from them.

I utilized my fully-stocked Daystar van to serve Mike's customer base, quickly changing business signs for the two companies as needed.

I continue to have a good relationship with both of them, and previous coworkers of those businesses.

My journey in plumbing started doing plumbing for a community member, the owner of Bright Plumbing, in the year 1982 after coming back to the Bay Area from my teaching stint in Japan for 2 1/2 years.

I have a strong commitment about the environment, and have made multiple journeys with a team to lobby Congress, the White House and international organizations regarding sustainable forestry and the environment at my expense.

I am actively engaged in environment-oriented issues, working against harmful projects, and am currently participating in local sustainability efforts, Pacifica Climate Committee, & the city council-appointed ""Climate Action Task Force"".
