I grew up in Paso Robles, CA. I graduated from Paso Robles High School with perfect attendance and a 3.80 GPA. In high school, I was involved in football for four years (CIF Champions) and track and field (CIF Champions). I was an active member of the Paso Robles Future Farmers of America (FFA), leading various projects and serving in officer roles. With multiple scholarships, I enrolled at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. I started with Animal Science and later switched to Mechanical Engineering. During my college years, I worked with a local water purification firm, traveling worldwide to design and implement their products in prospective clients' facilities. In 2003, I established a partnership with my father, specializing in Backflow Prevention as plumbing contractors. In 2007, I earned my plumbing license and created Henry Schmitz Plumbing. Since then, I have contributed to the California State License Board plumbing code review committee and engaged in many community service activities.
