In 2010, we took on our first plumbing and drain cleaning projects. In our early days, we managed about 12 jobs per month. In 2013, we ramped up to roughly 50 jobs a month. The majority of our work has focused on drain cleaning, repair, and replacement. Each week, we install about three hot water heaters. Weekly, we perform around two sewer camera and locating jobs. I secured my license at the advice of my initial boss, the founder of Bright Plumbing in SF, for whom I served 11 years. Afterward continued my career for eight years with the founder of Lipsey/Mill Valley Plumbing, while serving a small but growing Daystar clientele as well.
The shutting down of the company in the year 2000 prompted me to operate Daystar Plumbing as my primary focus, maintaining service in Marin County, SF, and the surrounding areas as I had with the previous company, and to continue service agreements with Kohler Co., Bosch/AquaStar, and additional manufacturers.
I appreciate to these two individuals for the invaluable experience and wisdom I acquired from them.
I brought my well-equipped Daystar van to support Mike's clients, quickly changing business signs for the two companies as required.
I continue to have a positive rapport with both of them, and ex-colleagues of the businesses.
I began doing plumbing for a local resident, my neighbor, in the early 1980s after arriving to San Francisco from teaching English in Asia for two and a half.
I am passionate about sustainability, and have made numerous visits with a team to speak to the U.S. Congress, the administration and international organizations regarding environmental protection and the ecosystem at my expense.
I am actively engaged in environmental advocacy, actively opposing poorly planned developments, and am currently active in Pacificans for Sustainable Development, the Pacifica Climate Committee, & the city council-appointed ""Climate Action Plan Task Force"".
I read ""Scientific American magazine"", ""Scientific American Mind"", ""Science News magazine"", and ""Parabola magazine"" in their entirety with each release.
