In his first seven years in the pipe trades, Jody gained experience for well-known contractors on mainly large commercial projects.

He performed plumbing and pipefitting duties at large publicly traded biotech and semiconductor companies, co-generation power plants, parking garages, hospitals, department stores, waste treatment facilities, and has worked on the upgrading of three elementary schools, one junior high school, and three high schools in Oxnard, CA, as well as one high school in Ojai, CA.

On weekends, he regularly worked for local Malibu contractors and gained experience in the custom home plumbing field.
