Company Overview
At ZOOM DRAIN®, we take pride in being your go-to experts for drains and sewers. Our services cater to both residential and commercial clients. We manage everything from sinks and toilets to main lines and storm drains. We believe in providing services that are efficient, targeted, and guarantee the task is done right the first time. We go the extra mile on every job until the problem is completely fixed. We aim to show you how these qualities set us apart from the competition.
Zoom Drain & Sewer Service continues a family plumbing legacy that began with our grandfather in 1948. Almost three decades ago, we started Zoom with our father and brother from a spare bedroom, using a small amount of borrowed funds. In those early days, we shared a single truck for service calls, often with one of us perched on a bucket between the front seats. Though challenging, we had fantastic customers and worked hard to create a successful shop.
Today, we manage daily operations with a dedicated team of employees who have been with us for years, helping us achieve our standards of professionalism and excellence. We are known for our rapid response and our capacity to provide focused solutions for drain and sewer challenges. From sinks, toilets, and tubs to main lines and sewers, our expert team is ready to provide you with prompt, professional service.
Jim Criniti serves as the President of Zoom Drain in Philadelphia and is one of the Founders of the Zoom Drain Franchise. As a military veteran, he understands that effective operational systems are key to success. Thanks to valuable mentors and business coaches, he implemented systems that transformed his business from one used truck into a multi-shop, multi-million dollar drain and sewer cleaning company. He then helped develop that business model into a growing franchise system that spans coast to coast, currently boasting 60 locations across the U.S.

Jen H.3/1/21 if I could give no stars I would. We scheduled a bilateral sewer inspection and we were scheduled for 3/2 in the afternoon and promised we would be called. 3:30 rolls around so we call to see where the tech is ""oh he's just finishing up and will be on the way to you next."" 2 more hours go by now it's 5:30 3/2- we call again - oh the afternoon window is 2-6, he'll be there. Then comes 7 pm- we get a call ""oh sorry we can't make it tonight, but you'll be the first appointment 3/2.""
March 2-8am, 9am, 9:30 am- no call no show. I call and I get the runaround again- now I'm told ""you're scheduled in the morning window"""" 8am-12"" AMAAAZING how when they run late suddenly it's a window appointment. I insisted we were told we would be first. The person I talked to advised they would call when the tech was on the way- we get a call in the afternoon and guess what?! ""Sorry we can't make it today, we can come tomorrow afternoon""
Why would I believe that?! Stay away!! Completely unreliable and utterly frustrating experience. I'm so DONE!
Like another person below this review, they scheduled a time and then no-call, no showed. After I called them, they lied to me about the window being 4 hours instead of 2 (like their text confirmation said). If you had just been honest and told me you were running late it wouldn't have been a problem. They wanted to reschedule for Sunday, but then never answered my call back, and I'm not willing to spend any more time dealing with this company.
You've effectively wasted several days of my time waiting for this appointment, and an entire afternoon off of work waiting for you to show up.
Denise C.I have a leak, looked for a plumber and scheduled an appt for today...guess what...NO CALL NO SHOW! Left a message and no response. I will look for someone else who is professional and cares about people's time. How can you not show up to a potential customer? Customer service in our country has gone to hell! UPDATE......an owner reached out to me who was interested in fixing the issue. He sent an awesome guy named Chris out the same night who was very straight forward and gave us excellent customer service. The pricing is on the high side, shop around guys! I had to pay over $500 just for them to look down the toilet pipe with a camera.
Frank D.Zoom sent Nick and Matt to my house very promptly. The team went right to work and took care of the problem in a professional manner. Great communication from the office and from the technicians.
Would recommend and use again
So initially when I called it was New Years Eve, we discovered our sewage was backing up into our basement around 4pm we called and was told they were extremely busy and couldn't get out til the next day. We understood that because it's a holiday! Next day guy came literally here 30-40 mins bill $450 bucks smdh he did a great job cleaning up and all was well until 4 days later sewage backing up again! Of course we called them back and now I'm pissed because its 10am when I called for the secretary or whoever she was was trying to tell me I may be charged again which didn't make sense because it was less than a week when they came out! She gives me a window of 12-4 that came and went, they called and said they would be here by 8pm that also came and went, they finally showed up around 11pm fixed the same issue we thought was fixed the previous week, no I wasn't charged again. So around 11:45/12 I come down stairs to see them watching my husband play his PS5 smdh I'm like really?! the one guy says well at least the problem is fixed!! So not the point but ok, hopefully I wont have to call them back again for the same issue, It's been another week so far so good! I will say they were nice and quick, well at least the first time but very pricey
J B.I used Zoom Drain in South OC, Ca. They were at my house at the time the dispatcher Steve promised, gave me a couple of options, and did the job as promised. Showed me the problem (roots in the main drain line to the street) with the camera in the line. The tech was Chris B.... Job well done, excellent communication. Highly recommend.
Extremely unprofessional. 1st, their website allows you to schedule your own appmnt. - nice, right? Wrong. After I went through the trouble of setting up my appmnt. I got a call sometime later saying no, that appmnt. wouldn't work (although their website said it was). So, I made another appmnt. w/the caller; it was a 4 hour window, 12-4pm. You guessed it - they didn't show or call. At 4:30pm they did call & I told them not to bother- it was too late.
If I could give them a ""0"", I would have. Use at your own peril - you've been warned.
Josh H.Appreciated the technicians offering a variety of solutions (bandaide fixes for the short term and multiple cost effective long-term options) and estimates when it came to repairing our main sewer line and curb trap ""back-up"" issues.
Techs showed up on time, were very communicative and helpful, and cleaned up the job nicely. The team even came back out a week later to follow up on some questions I had. Would definitely choose Zoom Drain again for major sewer or drainage issues.
My basement flooded bc our backup battery stopped working. I was told over the phone that they'd provide a free estimate but when the technicians came, it was $356 for a ""diagnostic"" only to be told the sump pump is fine and the backup battery is fried. So they unplugged it and that was the fix (less than an hour's worth of work). Trust me - call Mr. Electric if you need fair market pricing.
Absurdly overpriced. Don't even bother having them come out to give you an estimate. They are double what a ""normal"" plumber in Philadelphia should charge. They wanted almost $400 to just run a snake through the drain. I wound up paying another plumber $150.
They claim they can't give a price over the phone, but when the plumber arrived he didn't even go inside, he just asked me what I needed (which I had already said on the phone) and quoted me a price.
This company takes advantage of people who don't have time to do research to find an alternative plumber.
Stay away.
