The story of Zoom Drain & Sewer Service traces back to our grandfather’s plumbing business started in 1948. We founded Zoom nearly 30 years ago with our dad and brother, operating from a spare bedroom with limited resources. Back then, we traveled together in one truck for service calls, with one of us sitting on a bucket between the front seats. It was tough, but we had great customers and put in the effort to build a thriving operation.
Today, we manage daily operations with a dedicated team of employees who have been with us for years, helping us achieve our standards of professionalism and excellence. Our reputation is built on fast response times and our skill in delivering precise solutions for drain and sewer problems. Whether it’s sinks, toilets, tubs, or main lines and sewers, our skilled team is prepared to offer you swift, expert service.
As the President of Zoom Drain in Philadelphia, Jim Criniti is also one of the Founders of the Zoom Drain Franchise. With his background as a military veteran, he knows that solid operational systems are crucial for achieving success. With guidance from excellent mentors and business coaches, he utilized systems to expand his business from a single used truck into a multi-shop, multi-million dollar drain and sewer cleaning enterprise. He then helped develop that business model into a growing franchise system that spans coast to coast, currently boasting 60 locations across the U.S.

I have had a clogged/sluggish for 3 days. Finally called Zoom. Technician came out quickly and explained the potential charges. Came back shortly after to tell me that it wasnt as serious as he thought and would cost much less. Yay! Made me happy. Would definitely recommend.
Drew H.Zoom was fantastic. They were referred by our plumber and came out the next day, and even offered same evening service. We had a persistent waste line issue, which we had cleared by another company 2 or 3 times. Geoff from Zoom arrived and did a diagnostic with a camera snake and quickly identified the problem. He had it cleared in 15 minutes. We thought we had a much bigger (and $5,000) problem, but turned out to be fine tree roots. We used the water jet process, which blasted the roots away. I would recommend this process though it does cost more. Geoff also suggested annual application of root killer to keep them from growing into the waste line again.
I would not bother calling anyone else but Zoom.
I was very pleased with Zoom. Arrived as scheduled. Tony, was great. Very professional and friendly. Pricing was reasonable. I would recommend them.
I needed the sewer trap in front of my house unclogged. The plumber from zoom got to my house within 10 minutes of me calling, then was able to snake the line and clear out the issue within 30 minutes. After having negative experiences with another plumber in the area, it was nice to have such efficient service from a knowledgeable person. The cost of snaking the line was a bit higher than someone I've had it done before by, however the other company never actually fixed it so it was worth the cost in my mind.
Danni L.Where does one start when one is gleaming with joy! My floor drain in the basement was clogged and there was a large pool of water over it. Juan asked me a few question before getting started & told me he thought because of the age of the house and pipes that it was more likely than not a buildup ( like the build up one gets in their arteries). He was right. After about 30mins he pulled out some debris after running the snake, and boy was there a lot.
I'm one happy camper and will be contacting Zoom in the future.
Thanks Juan
Amber Leila E.I called over a holiday weekend and they called me back the next day! They were prompt, professional and did great service. Juan was the tech who came out and he was very good. He was complete, knowlegeable, and really a nice person. I am very grateful for the great service!
4 stars due to time rep showed up 10PM, but still gave me same day service. Good to work with, honest, accurate, did not charge hourly but by job type. This is what I had done: ""Came out and the customer has been having issues with the main drain backing up. They called out (another company name starts with ""H"") but they were unable to reach the blockage. They had removed a toilet to access the line. They did not reinstall the toilet. I reinstalled the toilet because I was able to locate outside access at the rear of the house. Once the toilet was reinstalled I powercleaned the main drain. Powercleaned the line going back towards the house first. Powercleaned this section of the line several times to ensure a proper cleaning. Powercleaned from the cleanout going out towards the city sewer. I was able to get the hose out about 110'. Pushed the camera out to this point and found a very large root mass in the pipe. Video inspected the line going back into the house and found this section of the line is clean and clear. I set up a appointment with the customer to return Monday between 1 and 3 to perform a root elimination on the line. There is no warranty on the line at this time due to the large root mass in the pipe. The customer will be credited the cost of the work today towards the price of the root elimination on Monday."" Overall, first check cut was for $543, and when they come out again Monday will pay another $460? Not sure if good price or not, but happy with result, and didnt want to mess with the plumbing of my house, we were happy. and would recommend in future or use again (fingers crossed we wont have to)...Company takes Checks, and all Credit cards, Invoice immediately emailed to me upon job being done...
Zoom is a rip-off. They charge very high prices. We used them in an emergency and will never use them again. Then they gave us a $4,000 estimate for work that our local plumber did for $1,000. Use a reputable local plumber instead of Zoom.
Abhi J.The most horrible place to go. Did not listen to my concern and made up a diagnosis and charged me ton of money. be aware, don't call
Tess Y.I was referred to Zoom by my plumber after my laundry drain line clogged up. I had them come out twice. Both times the technicians were polite, gave me the price upfront ($230-ish), and then got to work. Neither one seemed particularly confident answering my questions. The first time the guy was very thorough, snaked it twice for me, and took the time to run the washer to make sure the drain was open, and then tried to sell me on some drain cleaner solutions. I had no issues for 4 months. The second guy was less experienced, very friendly, but only ran the water vs. a load. I only got one cycle that didn't overflow and so I utilized their 30 day warranty (they come back for free). This time the manager came out and actually analyzed my issue. The plumbing wasn't up to code, the way the pipes were laid wasn't intelligent, and I needed to get my plumber out to install a utility sink. He apologized that neither technician noticed these issues. You would hope that guys who stare at drains all day would have knowledge of codes or at least notice when something seemed off. Wish I could've gotten that last $230 back.
