Both hail from Alabama, with Richard spending much of his life in the Auburn area, having completed his bachelor's degree in marketing at Auburn University. His summers were spent in the oil field sector, gaining practical experience with tools and machinery. which familiarized him with a range of tools and mechanical devices.

For the last 25 years, Richard has worked as a medical device representative in catheterization labs and operating rooms. He discovered that there is no substitute for professionalism, expertise, and effective communication, and that there is no room for errors.
