We called Zippy Plumber when our garbage disposal stopped working. Matt was very professional on the phone, and even tried to help me with a simple, DIY repair. When we found out that my disposal was not compatible with this repair, he scheduled a time to come out the next day. At our scheduled appointment time, two technicians from Zippy arrived, and while they were respectful (took off their shoes before they entered, and were polite) their plumbing services left us scratching our heads. First, the lead tech (the other guy was a trainee) opened our cabinet and visually inspected the unit. He did not touch it, test it, or otherwise attempt to diagnose the problem. He simply looked at it, and then promptly informed us that we would need to replace it...for the bargain price of $765!! When I balked at the price, and then questioned why he did not even test the disposal, he tried again, this time asking me, """"Is there a price you would be more comfortable with?"""" After declining his offer to haggle over the price of a new disposal and installation fee, he continued to press the issue, saying he could help with other things and he doesn't mind hanging around because he """"gets paid by the hour"""". Absolutely NOT. We quickly escorted them to the door, and then took the next few days to research a better solution. Found a disposal online, ordered it, and had a different plumber install it for us for less than $200. Honestly, I'm disappointed. After the initial phone call with Matt, I really thought this would be a great plumber for us to rely on - we live in an old building and occasionally a project is just too large for us to tackle on our own, but I don't think I will be calling again.

Definitely support your local business. I had a toilet leak and called upon one of those biggeRR plumbing chains. Short of the long, after 2-techs and a costly amount for a camera, I was given a high-priced amount for a fix for only a short distance (10-ft). The sewer line was clogged. The problem is they did NOT try to unclog the blockage to see if any issues continued out to the street. That would cost the same amount for every 10-feet. Having over 40-feet, that would be costly. Checking with another search service, Matt gave a call. We chatted and he sent Robert out. Extremely impressive. Not only was the camera ran but he removed the clog. Telling him of the other big-chain plumber, he was not impressed with their lack of customer service. Further, he found the root-cause of the clog, i.e., a poorly pitched sewer line. The otheRR big company (notice the RRs) were going to charge 2-3 times the amount actually costing from Zippy. So, Robert & Matt showed-up the next day, fixed the line, and did-so for far less than what RR would've charged for the entire job. They took care-of putting everything back and cleaning-up. I stood around and watched as they dug-up my front-yard, ran the new pipe, tested everything, and all in 1-day. I highly recommended them for plumbing work. They explain code as they work, they made good decisions when unexpected situations came-up (e.g., original sewer line went under the sidewalk, so, they ran a new line), and overall had good attitudes despite the slight rain. BTW, hope you guys enjoyed the cookies.

Once I got in touch with them, they were fast and professional! Robert came out same day, at 7:30 pm and was able to resolve both my projects the same night. Recommend!

Matt showed up when he said he would and quickly diagnosed the issue. Though there was nothing for him to fix (he advised me to call a septic company out), he spent time to explain the issue. He even told me what to tell the septic company I needed. He was honest, professional and very likeable. I will definitely call him back when I have more work to do!

While I was trying to sell my condo, I found some plumbing issues I needed to take care of. The toilet started leaking water from the bottom, at the floor and the water heater was not working at all. The problem was immediately diagnosed as soon as the guys from Zippy Plumber showed up. I got my water heater replaced and the toilet drain fixed the same day. Give these guys a call if you want people who know the trade and work professionally. Highly recommended.

Was supposed to fix a leak in my shower which seemed like an easy job after the second plumber showed me what needed to be done. Zippy left screws loose and left out a limiter which allowed the handle to spin around in a full circle which made it hard to find the spot where the water cuts off completely. I had get the job done all over including replace the cartridge because I was not sure if they really did it or not. Will never use them again.

Matt used to be my """"go to"""" plumber, and I was recommending him to friends and family. I think he is suffering from some growing pains right now though. I had an appointment scheduled with him on two different days this week and he failed to show up or even call to say he could not make it. I ended up having to hire someone else. It sounds like he is doing a lot of commercial work for hotels. He did contact me later to apologize. If you have a minor repair and you want it done right away, you might want to call someone else. For anything else, he's the best in town.
