Don't know if their work is good or not. After I posted the job they stated they had substantial experience with the work to be done and asked for contact info. Sent requested info twice. No follow up.
Waste of time.

Update:
-- I read his response, and want to point (1) I spoke on and off 1mos. He was polite but unpleasant. Then it seemed he fell off a cliff, ignoring us completely. No 'we're busy', nothing. = Unpredictable + Unreliable. 2 months I heard nothing, no response to messages/calls/VMs. (read my details below.) The day after this review went live he called me. (2) There's no 'we'. The multiple times we called/messaged, it's all Chris.
Wish him all the best of luck, and hope he improves his work style.

Negative 100.
Skim through reviews...you'll see Many Zero rating, cushioned by 5star reviews. Someone is clearly trying to boost ratings.

I called over 10 handymen, and wanted to find right person for our jobs who'd get things right (because as they say, 'if you don't have time to do it right the first time, do you have time to do it twice').

Chris has a very unpleasant attitude, but I thought 'right now I mainly care about job done well.' So talked anyway. Every time I called it felt like he was busy and was just putting up with conversations.
My calls to him were scattered over a month period (as I called and had estimates from other handymen). In the beginning he called back and responded very promptly, though attitudey. His VM message notes a warranty on all their jobs. He didn't mention it, but when I brought it up, he said ""yes all our jobs have 1year warranty. If it fails, we'll come take a look, and if it's because of our work, we'll replace or repair it free of charge."" Well that was a bonus assurance.

He does not provide free estimates. Only estimates over phone by looking at pics. Our situation was a bit confusing (dif handymen suggested different solutions), so had him explain it. He did not like that. He told me a few times ""this is a small project"", as if it's not worth talking about ($4-500 work).
At the end of the month I said we'd move forward with him (due to some security from his warranty). Never heard back. I called, text-messaged a few times, left VMs, spread over a week. Nothing. It's been 2mos now, he never responded to anything. Then I realized, if he's flaky unpredictable with call-backs, and can so stubbornly ignore you, what's to prove he'd stick to his word and honor a 'warranty'? Prob if something breaks, we'd never hear back from him, same as we're not hearing back from him now.
Very unreliable.

Few of the other handymen contacted are below. These are the ones we almost went with. Many others contacted, who over the phone said they couldn't do the project so not much more interaction.

-- Altadena Handyman- Ruslan, Very nice, great attitude, provides free estimates, arrived on time. Would be great to work with, however he did not do the work we needed. He works alone, and said our project needed multiple hands.

-- Your Local Handyman- Chris, unpleasant, flake, do not recommend. See above.

-- Nick and Sons Handyman- Nick, very nice, great attitude, also provided free estimate, arrived on time, experienced, explained well, provided advise. Although he said he'd do our project, he did not seem very experienced with it (we had an atypical job), though seemed experienced in general. We decided we'd prefer committing to someone who'd done it a lot.

-- Jeff Kasper Services- Jeff, great guy, highly recommend. Also great attitude, great to work with. Said he does small to large projects, including adding rooms and such. Will prob go with him. (Found him last, via Nextdoor app.) Update: did go with him, he was Phenomenal. Skill+attitude+responsiveness. I'll be calling him for everything from now on.

-- Let Jim Fix It- Jim. Also great attitude, highly recommend. Free estimates, arrived on time, was pleasant with everyone in family including kiddies. Would be happy having him help out. Said he's been in business 40years, and has ""seen it all"". The solution he suggested wasn't ideal, would make the kitchen layout difficult to work with. It was a tie, but ultimately we decided to go with a more workable layout.

If I could give zero stars I would. This guy is the biggest flake I haven't met in my life. He was lucky that I even considered giving him a second chance to work for me. The first time he was quick to answer the phone, said he would come over the same day at 3pm. Sounds promising right? Uh no! Then it turned into 3:45pm. 3:45pm rolls around no Chris. Then I get a text at 3:50pm saying his ETA is 4:20pm. Well, I already had someone else coming at 5pm to offer another quote. Bad first impression. So I immediately canceled with him and didn't respond to any further texts. Then days later he reaches out again asking to reschedule. So I had my assistant deal with him directly. He was scheduled to meet myself and my team today at 4pm. He then, after he should have gotten he hint to deal directly with my assistant, continues to contact me directly. I should have gone with my gut as I normally do NOT give anyone who is late a second chance. Sends me a direct message claiming he is ""sick"" and can't come today and to reschedule. WHAT A JOKE! Get a life buddy. There are too many people that would not only LOVE to work for me in my beautiful home but to take my money. Also looked at fake spot.com and most of his reviews are FAKE. A FAKE FLAKE is what this guy is. I do NOT recommend wasting your time. Too many other great people out there that will do what they say.

I've had Chris and his crew come out twice now and am beyond pleased with their service. On time, courtesy, competent, and reasonably priced. We'll be calling back for a lot more jobs soon!

This guy is a joke... I have never dealt with a contractor who is as noncommittal as this guy was. Do yourself a favour and find somebody else to give your business to.

We needed some drywall patching done at our house- a couple holes and some corners that had been dinged and repaired (poorly, by me). We also wanted to re-caulk some spots in the bathrooms and kitchen. After texting Chris some photos of the areas that needed work, he was able to give me an estimate over the phone and then schedule the work for the following week.
When Chris and his crew arrived, there were a few other spots I had missed and showed them to Chris. He adjusted the estimate and got a second crew to come that day to start the work. His crew was great, courteous and helpful. They protected the floors, put plastic over everything and even patched a couple additional small cracks they found. Super professional, reasonable and the finished product looked great.
I would 100% recommend Chris and his crew to anyone needing handyman services and will definitely be contacting him for any projects in the future. Thanks Chris!

Chris is a busy, skilled, and well-regarded contractor who came highly recommended by a former landlord. However, his higher rates do not come with extra level of attention or willingness to see a job done right, at least for a smaller jobs such as the ones we wanted him to do for us. By the end of our small project, I think less than 2-3 grand, I felt like I should have hired a lawyer and an architect to ensure that everything had been done the way I wanted. In one case, when Chris was inspecting a door I wanted replaced, he noticed the poor threshold, and asked if I wanted it replaced. Yes of course I replied. The threshold was not replaced, and Chris was extremely belligerent when I asked him why it was overlooked, pointed to the contract, and threatened a lien on the house if I didn't pay him when I told him I'd pay at the end of the month and didn't feel a rush due to his poor service. No the threshold wasn't in the contract, but it felt like we'd been very clear verbally and when the contract says ""replace the door"" there are a ton of details and you feel you don't need to itemize everything. I hadn't asked for hinges, yet somehow hinges were done? We had similar experiences with the other two jobs that were part of the contract, and while it was frustrating that I hadn't paid more attention to the contract, I also assumed that for his rates, Chris would just do the right thing. Eventually we had another contractor fix two issues for about $300 to our satisfaction, whereas Chris had asked for $900 to fix just one of the two.

Chris was outstanding!!! Called several plumbers and spa and pool repairers and was told they do not fix jacuzzi tubs. Well not only did Chris say he could do, he got started right away and completed job quickly.

Disappointed in Chris after seeing his high ratings. I had narrowed it down to Chris and another handyman for an AC installation job and for various reasons, by a hair's breadth I ultimately decided to go with the other handyman. The other handyman did a fine job but I wondered how Chris could've done it. Plus I had other odd jobs I needed done so I wanted to see the difference in his approach in order to select a permanent handyman to help around the house. But when I messaged Chris, he seemed to take my previous choice personally and told me that ""I've already chosen a handyman."" This isn't high school or a romantic relationship. Customers are not bound to one handyman. I thought Chris was more professional. And sure, business owners can choose who they work with but customers can also complain when a business owner acts pettily and arrogantly. I'm glad I didn't choose Chris after all.

I had a few odd jobs around the house including patching a hole from an electrician and installing new dryer vent, which was a bigger job then it sounded. I called Chris in the morning and he had two guys to my house by that afternoon. Chris was up front about all costs from the beginning and everything was reasonable. The guys did a great job and fixed everything. You can't even tell there was a hole in the wall and the dryer vent is back to working and better than ever. I will definitely be calling them back if I ever need more work done!
