What can I say? Timing was excellent and they got the job done. Not really much to explain, we had a problem with our shower and they got it fixed. But even more than that, they figured out there was actually a problem with the main line which makes them even more credible in my book that they were able to find the larger problem. Nothing seemed messy or dirty post-plumber and it wasn't hard to schedule a time. They were very work-friendly and easy to talk to. I would recommend Your Helpful Plumber to anyone in the Lakeview area and any nearby area because they don't play around...they get the job done. They'll have your toilets flushing and your shower draining in no time!!

So a couple of months ago back in August or September, my roommate and I were experiencing a slow-draining shower in our apartment (which is a garden unit). We tried the zip-it to see if we could remove any hair which we believed was the cause of the problem. After browsing Yelp for Plumbers in the area, we came upon Your Helpful Plumber and were VERY skeptical about them because of all the great reviews on Yelp, but it was the only place open 24 hours (it was 11pm when we called) so we scheduled an appointment for the following day. One of the guys came by with some sort of air pump to shoot air through the shower drain to unclog it. After multiple attempts, this didn't work but instead it caused our toilet to start leaking and making gurgling noises. After trying different things to our toilet and sink, he assessed that the problem wasn't with our unit but with the main pump of our entire building. He called two other guys to come and assess the situation and they came promply within 30 minutes and sure enough, they had to replace the main pump. As stressful as this entire situation was for me, I can honestly say these guys are great and were able to solve the problem at hand.

I needed someone right away at my parents house because of a big water leak, I called and worked with Steve and he was able to come out within the hour and I couldn't be happier. He found the issue right away and resolved the issue very quickly, and for a very fair price, I called 3 other places and he was lower than all of them, and with great quality service. Excellent service. I had a gas leak, and they came out several times until they found the actual cause of the problem. They came out quickly, and they were very nice.

I've used Terry and 'Your helpful plumber (YHP)' in the past. He was fine, for ME. Actually, I though he was great. THEN my 90 year old aunt (she has her wits about her, amazingly) needed a plumber...so I raved about YHP. I called Terry for her, but this time Terry didn't show up...his brother did.

Terry's brother did the first part of the job...it went fine. Then, the second part of the job was to change out a kitchen faucet. Well, Terry's brother told my aunt he didn't have the part and he'd come back another day...BUT he still charged this 90 year old woman! She's 90 and counts on me, so she just paid him. I called Terry and he did refund the money.

Last...I've wanted a couple of estimates in the past two years, as I own an apartment building: the first one was to move my water hose to the other side of the building and the second was (yesterday) for a 'backed up' bathtub. Terry quoted ""Well over $1,000 for the hose"" and ""$225.00 - $275.00 for the tub."" I called and USED Windy City Rooter for the water hose $650.00 and $149.00 for the tub. I'm sticking with Windy City Rooter.
