After reading their response, I attempted to call the number given - twice. Rang several times each time, picked up and disconnected. So yea... Still crap service. Not quite sure what they want to talk about - everything I said was true.

Our duplex had plumbing issues that prevented our gray and black water from entering the new Main Line we had installed by Beehive Plumbers. We called Rescue Rooters to unclog the pipes and they ended up doing so via our crawl space.

Almost immediately we began smelling mold, after a week the smell persisted and we decided to look in the crawl space. To our surprise and disappointment Rescue Rooter had let the plumbing going from the duplex to our main line COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED! My only consolation is that they now have to come out here and remove our excrement due to their own negligence.

After their negligence on such a major issue we will never be using them again.

They are rarely on time when scheduling. Their service department is rude and they don't seem organized. We had them for eight years and things have gotten more shoddy. They really, don't care anymore. Especially Keith in their service department.

Rescue rooter sequence of events:

May 9th, our sewer line backed up into our laundry room. We called Rescue Rooter because we use them in the past and thought they did a good job. They were able to come out that weekend and clear the line enough to get things moving, but they called in their manager because of concerns about roots in our main line. They said they could clear out the roots but it would not do much good because our main line was old clay pipe and was separating and falling apart, highly suggested putting in a new mainline or the problems would continue. For the work they had done to power flush the line and suggested new mainline came to $18,000. Since the house was built in 1948, we had lived here for 20 years, and figured we would be here for years to come, we thought we would go ahead and get the new sewer line rather than deal with potential back ups for the next 10 years. We should have called for a 2nd opinion from AllHours Plumbing, who just installed a furnace air conditioner for us and they were amazing.
I will try to shorten my recap. This should have been a four day job.

05/13: They dug up our front lawn to access the sewer line and piled all of the dirt on the rest of our lawn on top of what panels. They said the lawn would be fine and recover quickly, because it'll just be a short time.

05/14 - 05/27: missed appointments, rescheduling, call after call... they finally put in the new liner, inside our old sewer line, on May 28.

06/02: City inspector was scheduled to come out on June 3 and then they said they could backfill the hole.

06/09: After multiple calls and texts, we were promised to have it backfilled on June 10.

06/10: The crew never showed up.
06/11: text from manager "" They are still on their project from last night, done in 2 hours and heading to u"".
No show.

06/12: RR did show and backfill the hole, leaving behind a complete mess and leaving 75% of our lawn dead and the two boxes and the lawn for sewer access points we're insert into the lawn practically sideways. It took me calling and texting until July 7 to get someone to come out to repair the sideways boxes and put in some new sod. Well fixing the boxes they cut the line the electrical line for our street light and then only soldered one small section of that lawn and then just threw some seed on top of the other deadline which has done nothing.

It's now July 17 and I'm trying to get someone to come out and repair the electrical line RR cut to our front light and repair the rest of the lawn. We just made our first $280 payment that we will be paying for the next five years for this ""wonderful"" service. Again, don't ever use these people, call All Hours Plumbing

I have been calling this company for over 12 years -- I have some minor roots in my main line, and I do preventative clean-out every 2 years or so. Twelve years or more ago, they were good. A couple years ago, and again this year, they send out a ""supervisor"" for the job, whose task is to up-sell the client on a major renovation. I know my sewer, I have done cameras on it multiple times. I have lived here for over 17 years. All I wanted or needed was a good routine main-line rooter clean-out.

The supervisor showed up about on-time but without a tech to do the job. He tried to convince me I needed an new sewer line relining. And he put on a hard sell. It was ridiculous. He told me it would cost $75,000 to replace my sewer if it collapsed, and he could help prevent that.

I had their coupon for a main-line clean-out for $88 dollars, found on their webpage. He insisted even a simple cleaning rooter job would cost much more. I thanked him for his advise, and explained that was all I needed. He left and told me he would send a tech later. I waited three hours, well past appointment time, and no one called or showed up. Finally, I called him back, five hours later and he told me he might be able to have one here before 7pm. At 7:30p, no call.

I called Roto-Rooter that night. They came on-time the next day, did a great job, and made no effort to convince me I needed any work other than that I requested. They did a camera on my lines, and agreed I just need a routine cleaning. Their price was fair.

I will never call this company again.

Needed to unclog a slow toilet. The charge was $149.00. I could have bought the same tool at Home Depot for less than that price. It didn't fix it. I sensed the technician was new and inexperienced. There was an additional charge to remove the toilet to fix clog. He assured me that was the best he could do as he could install a new toilet to help water flow. I declined.
He left and toilet was still starting to back up. I called Joes AAA. They charged $109 to unclog the toilet. What was stuck was a foil pregnancy wrapper.

Service, good. Rates? EXTREMELY misleading. $59 drain removal ended up being $334. When I called the receptionist quoted me at $158 because of after hours fees. Understood. I accepted, made the appointment. Guy comes, fixed, and charges me $334. Apparently the 'coupon' price of $59 is a 7-5pm thing and they charge $334 to clean a single drain.

Called, spoke with 3 people today, no one wanted to acknowledge I accepted the appointment on $158 quote, and even tried telling me I got a deal with the $334. Bogus? Maybe I'm the idiot for actually paying it at 11pm after a whole day dealing with floods. I will be spreading the news around about these scammers.

Do not use this crooked business! Terrible prices and service! 400$ for a drain scope problem came back 2 months later ( oh now it's something different 400 more and will fix it). Don't use these crooks!

Six hours later, my problem was not solved, but my wallet was saved. After calling for a mainline backup, it took five hours and six calls before someone finally showed up. Time quotes were doubled before I got another call that it would be longer, and I had to confirm three times that I still wanted someone to come out. When the technician arrived, the cost was TWICE what I ended up paying, not to mention the after 11 pm fee since that was the current time of service. The people were friendly to talk with, but that doesn't make up for the time wasted. From now on, I'm sticking with the big-name guys who respect my time and money.
