Carrie L.I would definitely recommend Rescue Rooter. We've used them 3 times in the last 2 years as our house is 50 years old and the plumbing isn't great. The first time was because the drain in the basement was backing up when the washer was in use. They were very prompt in their response and had it power flushed ( snaked?) In no time. They also said they would guarantee their work for one year and if they had to come back it would be no charge, which was great because almost exactly a year later it needed to be done again! They came over within an hour, re-snaked and didn't charge a dime! This morning I went downstairs and the carpet was soaked and there was water under the stairs, I called them and they were here in less than an hour. The guy was great! He was very thorough and determined it was the sprinkler line next to the house. There is nothing he could do about that (understandable), he didn't charge anything and he even called a disaster clean up company for us! I am very impressed with their professionalism and their work! Thank you Rescue Rooter!!
Natalie M.When I called Rescue Rooter, the dispatcher was amazing. She was knowledgeable and clear and very efficient. Unfortunately, this was the only good part of my experience with this company. The plumber,Cary, was supposed to call 30 minutes before he arrived so I could have someone there to let him in. He did not. When he called to say he was outside my door waiting, he was rude and inconsiderate. He gave my roommate the estimate but would not talk to her or me about any thing else because we were not paying. I finally called my HOA manager who had to come talk to the plumber because HOA would be covering the bill. The plumber was somewhat decent to me until my HOA manager left then all of the sudden, everything was wrong and my pipes were 'bad' and my disposal was 'bad'. He told me my bill would be 125$ to replace the pipes then another 250$ to replace my disposal and he would not just hook everything back up. I had someone else come look at it all later and they fixed it all for about 25$ and my disposal was hooked back up and works perfectly. The 125$ pipes he replaced had to be trashed so the disposal could be hooked up properly. When I told the plumber that I did not want him to hook up my disposal because I did not want to pay the 250$ plus labor for a new one, he was very snide and told me that he would not make it easy for anyone else to hook it up and was taking all my old pipes so I would have to buy new parts. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. The bids I was given were ridiculous and the plumber was just trying to milk me for everything I'm worth!
Barbara K.If you need anything big done i highly suggest you get other bids. When i told my insurance company how much money they wanted to fix a clog from the outside of my house they insisted i get 2 other estimates. Sure enough the other estimates were 60 % less for the same work. Shame on them. Use someone local and smaller. I know you will get a better price and you will keep it local. To be specific i was quoted $8300 to resolve a clog from the outside of the house. Both estimates did not go over $3000. So you have been warned. Also they wont share what they learned about your problem in the
Trevor C.TERRIBLE!
I called this company on the reviews of this site, only to have one of the worst services of my life. (Son dropped his pullup in the toilet)
8:00 PM Friday: Initial call, promised technician within an hour.
9:30 PM Friday: They called me saying a technician would be out within an hour.
10:30 PM Friday: I called them, asked if the technician was in route. He was not, so I
rescheduled, and they promised a technician from 8-9AM
9:30 AM Saturday: They called me to say that they were busy and would have a tech
out by 10:00-11:00.
11:30 AM Saturday: Getting irritated, they promise to have someone out within an
hour.
12:30 PM Saturday: The tech finally shows up as I am putting my son down for a nap.
He then said it would be $119.00 to run his augur (a toilet snake)
down my toilet, and if necessary, $105.00 to pull my toilet to augur it from the bottom. I had already snaked the toilet from the top with no success, and had a coupon for the same service from a different company for $50.00, he said he would call his manager and see if he could get a better price. After calling, he reported they could not and I asked him to leave. 5 minutes later he knocks on the door again and says ""His manager misunderstood him, and they could do both services for $80.00"", as I didn't want to wait for the other company, I paid the $80.00. He snaked it from the top with no luck, then pulled the toilet and tried to snake it from the bottom with no success. He then informed me:
""Looks like you need to buy a NEW TOILET??!!!
I took a flashlight and noticed that HE HAD BEEN JAMMING HIS SNAKE IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!!! The pullup was right there from the other direction, pulled it, and we were back in business. This was a horrible experience and I recommend to all to avoid them!
Jamie L.DO NOT USE.
I rent out my house as a vacation rental property. I've used this service many times with no problems. Until today. The plumber came out relatively quickly for an Easter Sunday, but then left his tools and a foul mess in the bathroom and told my guests he was coming back. 4 hours later and numerous phone calls, and there is still a mess. After escalating the issue to one of their managers named Tracy, he claimed the job was done and there were no problems. Despite the foul mess and tools left behind for hours. He then tells me that they aren't responsible for cleaning up the mess. For the money I paid, I expected professionalism, courtesy and timely service. I got none of those, especially from Tracy, who seemed none to happy to be talking to me.
The pleasant German fellows staying in the house said : ""I don't know how it works in America, but in Germany our plumbers do all of the work, including cleaning. I've never experienced one to leave tools behind and say it's my problem.""
How embarrassing.
Rescue Rooter of Salt Lake City was awesome! Russell, the technician, came to our house at 9 pm and helped us with a very stressful and difficult situation. He communicated very well and let us know each time a cost might be involved. That is very important as we are on a very tight budget. He was friendly with our kids and went above and beyond his job by giving us great recommendations. We had a great experience.
This company just relined our 85 year old sewer line from our home to the street. From our initial contact through the clean-up, every representative of the firm exceeded all our expectations. From receiving a phone call at 8PM on Friday night responding in minutes to my email request for an appointment (which was arranged the next day), to our appraisal of the clean-up, wondering how they left so small a lawn repair over a hole 9 feet deep, we were pleased with every response from each employee. They were on-time, well informed, pleasant (no boom boxes, no swearing), clean and respectful of our property. We were astounded at how well we were treated by every member of the team. Hat's off to this fine organization. And no, I'm not a relative: Rescue Rooter was not my choice when we were looking for help.
Called and got great customer service. Price quote was great. Was given a specific arrival time for the plumber to show up. Waited for an hour longer. Nothing. Finally called and the lady at the call center said she could send somebody out in three hours. Um, no thanks. I can't tell you the quality of service they actually provide, since I cancelled the service order immediately. Whatever scheduling system they use for their contracted plumbers clearly doesn't work and I'd highly suggest calling a plumber directly and avoiding this ineffectual middleman.
I would never use this company again. I called to have a drain snaked. It was already exposed and all they had to do was clean the drain and put the trap back on. They quoted me 350.00$ but said I could have 50$ off for having the pipe ready. I said no thank you and then they asked how much are you thinking. I said I will pay you 75 which is about the going rate. He said okay. I lost all faith in them at that point. 350.00$ and your willing to do it for 75.00$. Pretty dishonest on what it should cost. He knew I was being charged 7x what is the going rate. What if I didn't know it was way too much to pay that much. Never again will I call them. I will look anywhere else first. Im with the guy that posted RUN do not walk to the other guy..
Very unprofessional. I made an appointment that they didn't keep; said they were ""too busy."" Finally showed up the next day. Informed me that I had a broken sewer and water line. Quoted me almost 7500 dollars to fix them. I got a second opinion. Turns out that only my water line was broken and the area where they said the sewer line ran, is nowhere near where the line actually is. The technician also said my pipes are clay....Nope they are PVC because the previous owner fixed the line. The technician dispatched also couldn't quote me a price, he had to call a supervisor. They conferred out of my hearing and came up with that outrageously expensive amount. Also found out that they are paid on commission. Buyer beware. Needless to say, I went with the other guy. I still get high pressure calls to ""schedule my repair"". Please verify their claims and get a second opinion. Could save you thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. Run, don't walk to the other guy.
