Elizabeth T.Why would a company make an appointment (with a window of 8 hours), call to tell you their en route, then call back 20 minutes later to say ""Just Kidding!"" They sent the wrong person so it'll be another 2 hours before someone will be at your house... never mind that I took my lunch break to deal with their lack of professionalism...
Orlando J.Hmmmm when I scheduled the appointment on a Friday I did so hoping that I could find someone with a cheaper than a $90 diagnostic fee. ($96.53 to be excat) The technician pretty much said you need another unit. You compressors is going bad. He didn't say it was bad but going bad. If it's going bad let's try to save it. Maybe it needs a charge or something. Once he said that he didn't try to offer any other ideas as to what could be done. He was a by the books tyoe of guy in and out. One reason I hate mechanics. You really don't know if they are over charging or not. Anyway. I'm giving this company a 2 star because this particular technician seemed to be more interested in $96 and me purchasing a $3,000 unit than if he could get me going by adding coolant ECT.
Bennett M.Called Yellow Dot to come diagnose our blower not working...technician was there for about 15 minutes ($96 dollar just for them to come out and look) and said we needed a new blower motor, which was not available and had to be ordered. The order process took over 4 days, mind you we have a 2-month-old, with no status updates from Yellow Dot. The receptionist(s) were extremely rude and would not (probably could not) provide any relevant information on when we could expect the technician to even come out.
You have a choice when it comes to air repair and I would advise against using Yellow Dot.
I just got Yellow Dot service technician come to my home yesterday to fix an issue with my Air Conditioning. This has been really frustrating issue that we have been trying to deal with for almost 2 1/2 year with no solution in sight with yellow dot. We bought a new home home in Sept 2014. At that time we didn't need the Air Conditioning so we couldn't check A/C working.
As summer of 2015 rolled we noticed that A/C was not working. WE called Yellow Dot in summer of 2015 5/6 times. First time we called was around June 6th. Since then we had called them regularly until the end of summer. Eventually they came in sept of 2015 to do fix one more time. I asked the technician can they replace unit in warranty. No proper answer. Since it was September the weather was getting cold. They told us that the induction could was getting frozen. This is happening because of higher seer for energy efficiency. They told us if the same issue happens they would be happy to fix it in summer.
We called Yellow dot about the same issue in June of 2016. Air conditioning was not working . At that time they told that capacitor or compressor was frozen. Even after that we told him it was not working as it was taking way too long to cool off. He did some work on induction coil and etc. Later we went to road trip(June-25 to july-10 ) and to India. By the time we came weather was getting cold. At this time we are out of warranty. I have to tell them many times that technician had told us that this visit would be covered under warranty as they could not check.
This year 1st June 2017 our AC is not working. I got yellow dot, they charge 90$ just to come. Today technician is telling us that there is some part bad, oil is leaking and it will cost 1250$ and will take 5 hours. Got estimated bill estimating 6 hours and total around 1273. I For last 2 1/2 year i am trying to get them to fix issue which they failed to fix. Looks like they put band aid each time we called and now all band aid out so they can make money of their incompetency.
I just called Carrier to get warranty replacement for parts.
Based on notes the last technician who came in sept of 2016 worked on induction coil. I don't understand how come the coil is lacking in such a short time.
I got the Yellow dot fix this issue. The technician Lewis came to fix issue. I asked him ho long it will take? He told me 2/3 y hours. He came at 10.30 and was done by 1.20 . At around 11.45 I went to see how the work was going. I asked him if the induction coil was burnt, how much did he put freon .
Lewis: I am not the technician who diagnosed issue. I am here just to fix issue. I told you I will be done in 2/3 hours.
Me: I am not sure whats a big deal in answering simple question. I would like to know whether it will fix issue permanently or not.
I called immediately Yellow dot CSR Sheena. Told them that they need to send good people to work. He does not seem to understand customer service at all. She told me would reach out to technician.
Now I don't know whether the coil was really bad or not. This technician just replaced part as per the work order. I don't know if there is anything else wrong as he cared only whats put in work order.
Later I called the Yellow dot that they had estimated 6 hours of work at 150$ per hour. Works was completed in less than 3 hours. I am still paying for 6 hours of job. Funny thing is when technician walked in my home to do job he told me it would take 2 2 1/2 hours . So the gentleman who gave estimate padded it with 100% leeway time. So 3 hr job is estimated at 6 hours.
The CSR told me there is nothing she could do. I asked her that I would like to speak higher manager. She told me Keith would call me. I didn't got call but an email stating they are flat rate company. Their prices don't change. Then I got email from Keith on Monday stating there is nothing else they can do.
Wow
I don't know what kind of mess my builder MI home has put me by hiring Yellow dot for HVAC. They accept no responsibility for their job work.
Mary S.Right now, if I could rate Yellow Dot lower than 1 star, I would. Our AC went out last evening. They claim to have 24 hour service. When a technician called me back after I called for service, he said he didn't think he could get out last night. I called an hour later to see if I could get anyone out and he said he wouldn't be out. I just called again this morning (7:15 am) and the person who answered the phone suggested I call back at 8 when their normal business hours begin.
Yellow Dot's website claims that they have 24/7 service. I have a maintenance agreement with them. What is the purpose of this kind of service if they are unresponsive when you need it most? This is completely unacceptable.
Not happy at all. I have a four year old M/I home that Yellow dot installed the heating and a/c. Unit was freezing up and had tech come out twice. Problem was it wasn't set for auto defrost during installation which explains $400.00 electric bills. I made an appointment for 4/17/17 that they did not show up nor did they call to say they couldn't make. I called and took off work the next day and had to keep calling them. The tech showed up near 5pm and advised the compressor was bad and they would call the next day with a quote. I had to call them the next day and was advised the tech need to come back out 4/20/17 between 12-4 pm to get the correct model for parts and he showed up before 6pm. It is now 4/21/17 and still no callback or anything. Don't get me wrong, the customer service was polite and the tech knew his job but I'm still without a/c no clue of when this will get resolved.

Unfortunately had to call for service on my AC unit. No air blowing on the third floor and warm air blowing on the second floor. Both floors are serviced by the same unit. Your technician, Corurtney Robinson responded, went to the third floor and immediately knew the problem was a stuck zone motor. He explained everything to me and replaced the motor. Just wanted to once again thank Yellow Dot for the degree of knowledge the technicians have and their professional work ethics. Fred C.
Very unhappy having the same issue this summer that I paid dearly last summer to have resolved. :(
Trying a different HVAC repair company where they will at least give you a free quote.
I am not sure if they are crooked or incompetent. Regardless, they are not customer oriented, do not seem to have much technical expertise ((repeated visits to fix the same problem)) and cause more problems than they fix. Nothing but lip service, and no way to reach anybody in the organization that cares. Too bad there are not negative stars.
I had Yellow Dot out last year for a service call and the tech added coolant and replace a part. He left and one year later I had to call them out again and found out that the tech did not give me options that would have prevented me from spending $600 today on a call plus another 3-6k to replace/repair the unit in a few weeks.
I spoke to a few representative and they asked what they could do to make it right, and gave me a crappy offer of a $304 credit for the coolant that was wasted during the first visit......but here's the kicker....It would only be good if I used their service again!!??!!
I spoke to Keith ""The Partner"" thought that by offering me a $300 credit ONLY if I did business with them to replace/replace the unit( at a much higher rate) was a kind gesture????
Well Keith ""The Partner"" not it's not! Your guy was not on point; and did not give me my options and as a company who strives for client satisfaction you should have honored the credit on the same day. Wait.....Oops...that's not yellow dot, that's what your competitor BLINSON HEATING AND COOLING did...
So as media rep, I will make sure that my experience with YELLOW DOT is known throughout the Triangle. YELLOW DOT....DISAPPEAR!!
