Called for warranty work due to dual zone heating not working in my new home. Spoke with Katy and she had techs come out to look at the system. Two techs arrived to my home as scheduled and actually called and asked to come earlier which was fine.

The techs did an air flow adjustment (third time in less then a year) and said I should be good to go. Then left and one tech came back within 5 minutes and said thinking about it let me adjust the damper. After the adjustment said give it a couple of weeks and call back if any issues.

Next day the same problem is occurring. When my lower level heat turns on it's blowing upstairs as well. Due to a larger wide open space on the main level takes longer to heat up that makes the second level very warm upstairs, so warm I don't even have the control turned on. Per Katy since I had heat and ones without take priority she would have a supervisor come next week on Monday between 12-5. Come Monday I called first thing that morning at 8:25 and was going to be transferred to Katy but she was on break and someone took a message for her to call me back. Of course no one did. So I waited around for my scheduled time and no one showed. Call Tuesday morning and told Katy was busy and I let the person know that I left a message yesterday for her and she never called me back so I was placed on hold.

Katy picked up and after looking over things said someone was scheduled to come on Thursday not Monday and apologized for the error. Well the error costs me time and money but to her condescending tone on the phone that doesn't matter to her. I reminded her of the time we spoke, the date she told me and asked why the appointment was changed and I was not notified? She was very rude and flip with her response of I'm sorry a mistake was made but someone will be there on the Thursday. I also asked why she didn't call me back after my message yesterday and Katy claims she never got it.

So if your looking for a professional on time company this isn't the one. Good luck if you chose them but it seems they don't have any positive reviews so that should tell you something. I never chose them as my installer the builder chose them.

Review: Yellow Dot Heating and Air Conditioning
On Saturday May 25 our air conditioner stopped cooling. This was the Memorial Day weekend and the hottest weather of the year so far. Yellow Dot had installed our system (less than 2 years ago in a new house), so we called them for service. There was no answer to our phoning despite a lengthy time waiting online for any response, so we left an urgent message. Next day, Sunday, there was again no answer to several phone calls and no response to the messages that we left. Monday, Memorial Day, still no answer and no response. That Monday we also tried their website and their chatline. The chatline was responsive and promised a reply, but only put us onto the same phone line that we had previously been calling with no result. We also tried calling the number of their other office, but with the same lack of result. Tuesday May 28 after trying their phone number again and after leaving yet another urgent message, we gave up. We then phoned another air conditioner service. They came out the same day and fixed our problem. Today it is 5 days since we left the first of many urgent messages and we still have not received any response from Yellow dot.

On July 30, I called yellow dot for service on my two and a half years old unit. I ask if it has warranty and they said yes, valid for 5 years, then they said they were charging $99 for diagnostic at which I said why, and they said warranty just cover labor for the first two years and 5 years on parts. I agree with the price and after the technician came and changed the capacitor the bill was $ 205.41. So, they are charging more than a hundred dollars for a piece that is not more than $5-$15 everywhere and easier to change than a battery. What about the warranty coverage?
I did call to claim for what I think is not a fair business practice but still have not received any response. Even though their response coming was fast, I'm very disappointed because I had other options but choose them because the warranty coverage, I feel abused on prices and bad information. I will never use their service again, not even recommend them. Be aware of burglars with a business appearance.

AC went out Friday evening. Outside unit would not turn on******. Saturday morning, Yellow Dot came out. Said it was a capacitor gone bad in outside unit. He checked upstairs air handler unit. Said the capacitor for that motor on that one was also going bad. Replaced both. AC running fine. Even though expensive, at this point, it seems Yellow Dot might be a 4 Star recommendation. Cost $515.*********************
------However, less than an hour later, same morning. Outside unit running fine, inside unit now broken. Won't turn on. Called. Came back. Said by coincidence, the inside unit motor had burned out right after they installed the new part. ""Just one of those things."" Replaced motor inside unit. AC running fine. Cost $463.95 .
---Sunday.
---Stopped payment on check today so can discuss how such a coincidence could have happened without their having caused it when they installed the upstairs part. The part they installed, the capacitor, starts the motor. After they installed it, the motor would not start. ""Just one of those things,,,,""
Monday...Supervisor due out here Tuesday to explain the ""coincidence.""
Tuesday: Supervisor(Jimmy Taylor) met with me, said their work was done right, but he could see my point about the difficulty of my believing in the ""coincidence"" and he changed the $463.95 charge to $230. Actually, I think the second charge should have been dismissed, entirely. The installation of the second capacitor ruined that inside motor,and who knows what else. Should have been a free repair to their botched repair. The technician named Rafael did both....... So, one star.
