Hired this company to plumb a rental structure for me. Charged me over 10k for what i felt was at most a 5k job, but due to availability we decided to hire them. During the time the work was being done, the owner, Mr Yamada, was on site but did not appear to do much actual work. I literally caught him fast asleep in the fetal position during the day underneath our house while his assistant was working inside. Plumbing work was mediocre and a couple pipes were not even glued together at the end of the job (when i turned on the water, it shot all over the bathroom). I pointed this out and he came back and fixed them correctly. Had an excuse for every error, Of course he billed for two men the entire time. He also claimed the plumbing inspector showed up and inspected the structure but we never saw any proof of this....additionally we had a separate leak and he gave us a quote which was 4x the price of the competetors (btw we hired kamahele plumbing who was excellent fast, professional, and a good price!). overall, his workers are great people but he is lazy and overpriced.

I used this company many times in the past, they usually tried to come right away and the receptionist is very nice, the work is decent. However, I always felt the price is too high compare to other companies because I felt the owner always claims more hours than actual time spend on the repair. He also charges for the traveling time which I understand that some company also does that. But the travel time at honolulu sometime only takes 10 to 15 minutes but he always charges at least 1/2 hour. Recently, I have a toilet wax replacement job that cost $175 dollars include $6 for parts. He tried to charged 2 hours but the honest technician told him over the phone that he cannot do that. Then he ask him to charges 1/2 hour for travel time and one hour for repair (40 min. max. actual time) for a total of 1 1/2 hours. When I asked him to give a small discount for a frequent customer (because I felt it was not 1 & 1/2 hours, first time ever ask him for discount), he yelled at me and tell me to never call Yamada for service again and hanged up on me. I will never call Yamada's plumbing again. You can use them and there will be no problem if you just paid whatever he charges.

I am giving Yamada's Plumbing 5 stars for the crazy job of replacing all of my sewer pipes and repositioning the slope of the new pipes under the house in a record 3 days! Pricing was competitive so I won't complain about it. Glen Yamada is without a doubt a really character but, I am very grateful to him and his crew for getting this "dirty job" done fast and correctly. The crew worked so hard in the pouring rain! Thanks Glen, Garrett, Sheldon and the other guy who worked on the leaking connection in the wall. So far, my sewer is flowing fine.

Called Yamada plumbing for estimate for bathroom remodel. Scheduled an appointment and no one showed up or didn't call. Don't waste your time.

This is a company I'd NEVER refer to anyone to. The owner and a worker came over to repair a leaky valve on my toilet. They arrived at 10am which was an hour late. It took a total of 45 minutes to repair since I live in a condo and we had to wait till the water got shut off. The owner didn't do anything while his worker did the job BUT at the end he charged me for 2 hours for 2 men. Total cost: $414 for 45 minutes of work. Owner claims if it's a condo he normally sends out 2 men. The thing is he didn't know he was coming to my place that's why he was late.

Feel they are a little on the pricey side but they came well-recommended. Had them install a garbage disposal and kitchen faucet. They did great work and charged me for the right amount of time they were here (about 2 hrs). Scheduling was easy and they were on time. Extremely helpful! Having them come back tomorrow for some other work so would def use them again.

I had sewage backup in both my bathtubs and toilets during the rainy season in 2014. I called another company to clean out the mess but the same problem occurred in 5 days. The same company came back to put a camera in my plumbing and found 2 problematic areas, quoting me $30,000 to fix the problem. I found Yamada's Plumbing on the BBB website and Mr. Yamada came with 2 men, pinpointed the same problems and quoted me $15,000. They did a fantastic job of breaking through the concrete and finding the cracked pipe caused by a thick tree root. This repair resolved the other problem and I was just charged $5,000 in total with the insurance paying for $3,000. I had another major problem a year later and Yamada's plumbing fixed that as well. Tired of all the plumbing problems, I thought of reselling my home. An inspector told me to get another plumber to do an independent report on my plumbing. I called another company who checked out my plumbing and they stated that Yamada's plumbing did a fantastic job. I won't be selling my home now.
