Nancy B.We bought a beautiful new Mitsubishi mini split unit from Woodward in 2018. It started having issues in 2019. Every time it got below freezing, it would freeze and blow cold air. Kept calling for (paid) service appointments, trying to get it fixed. They didn't know, and spent most of the time on the phone with Mitsubishi. Winter came, no heat on under freezing nights, called for service, Ricky came out, he didn't know, and couldn't get a good cell signal, so he said they would talk with Mitsubishi and get back to us with next steps. Which they didn't do. We waited and waited. We gave up and called again, so this time Dillon comes out, asks why he's there, they've known since the previous visit how to proceed. Nice. Nobody shared that with us. Then they want to charge us in advance for the warranty work including parts, and won't come back until we do. At that point, we said no, we'll pay after it's fixed, we can't afford to keep paying for your ""maybe this will do it"" appointments. It is under warranty! The techs were all nice and competent, but the owner, wow. Treated us like it was all our fault, never sorry for our trouble, said that we were to blame for the miscommunication not them. So for all our trouble, he formally refused to fix it (because we were obviously not happy with their service) and we needed to just find someone else. (ya, it's called isn't making him enough money for that kind of repair) His ongoing response? Well it worked great for two years! Two years? $14k heating system and we're supposed to be happy with just two good years?
Maria H.IF YOU ARE NOT CHOOSING WOODWARD - YOUR MAKING THE WRONG CHOICE!!!
We use Woodward for our annual maintenance. They are prompt, responsive, and usually get us in fast. My partner enjoys chatting and learning all about the system but have no fear, he enjoys the knowledge - but would much prefer to leave the actual hands on to the pros - thank !
Update: May 21, 2021 - I can't say enough about this company, and especially Justin. They have gone above and beyond in service, installation, response time and honoring their word. My water heater blew up, my AC froze and everyone place was booked out for a month. I got a remind card in the mail to service my AC. I promptly called and was scheduled to have someone come out 4 days later. To my surprise, I got a call and someone came out the next day. Since my AC froze I had to wait for it to thaw so at my regularly scheduled appointment, Tuesday May 18th, here comes Justin. He's services our AC before, saw what we were dealing with, got us back up and running. After discussing options I requested he send us a quote to run gas lines, install a tankless water system and replace my AC with a new heat pump. 3 days later I have a new tankless system and running hot water (haven't had hot water for almost 3 weeks). I just found out he drove to Portland to get pipe because the distributor was at least a month out on deliveries. Justin and a colleague just left our house at 8:00 pm. I can't sing their praises enough! If you went somewhere else - you made the wrong choice. I am team Woodward Heating (Commercial SE) all the way!!! Thank you WH and Justin for caring enough and keeping your word. YOU ARE AMAZING!

Due to the recent ice situation in Salem, I lost power. Once my power was restored my split heater wasn't working. I scheduled a diagnostic with Woodward's for 10 AM. Due to having no heat I wasn't staying in my home, and the technician showed up at 9 AM. I had to race home to not get bumped further down the schedule that afternoon. The tech ran meters and gauges and even called his technical support. His written summary stated the problem was the motherboard, not brought on by a surge from the power, which was contrary to what he originally told me. He explained to me he would need to order the part and come back to reinstall it. After a full week of waiting and not hearing anything I called the office. Jen was rude and let me know that she knew as much about HVAC as I did, and she didn't have any information on the part. She said she would reach out to the tech. My general contractor called her later and she told him that she explained to me they were ordering the part and it was very expensive. Neither of which is true. At this point I had been without heat for 18 days and told them to cancel any service or part. I called another company for diagnosis and they let me know it appears there was a breaker issue, and once that was resolved they would be able to better diagnose my unit. I replaced my breaker and the unit came on. No issues, no expensive parts to order. A $20 breaker. Shyster comes to mind. I'm glad I called the other company who is honest, Hendrix. So, if you need HVAC help, skip these guys. Unless you like being lied to and dealing with pissy office help. (Jen, figure out who is profit and who is overhead. Your employer knows).
Follow up... Day 25... the cost of the unnecessary part was quoted at over $900 for just the part, no installation.
Response to Scott: The correction for me is unnecessary, as I won't ever use your service again. It was a $99 lesson learned.
I do wonder how many people accepted your proposals for correction and paid for goods and services which were completely unnecessary. Shameful. SMH
Joe M.If you value your hard earned money stay away from this company, we recently had our furnace ignitor go bad in the start of winter in the middle of a pandemic were many Americans are struggling with their finances. I called Woodward to purchase the ignitor thinking I could save my family money by diy myself ,after watching videos it seemed easy enough. But to my surprise greedy Woodward wanted $90 for a part I found and bought on Amazon for $23. How is that price justified? If this HVAC supplier could still make a profit selling on Amazon and Amazon also makes money on the sale,
They probably get these ignitor for $10. Shame on you Woodward for your greed.
Gary K.Contacted Woodward Heating to repair a thermocouple on my gas fireplace. They sent out a technician who diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. A week later the technician returned to install the part.
During the install, the tech, stripped the valve threads and had to order another valve and said it would be installed at no charge. About 10 days later, the tech returned to replace the valve. The tech was in our home about an hour and a half and left with the fireplace working.
At about 2:00 a.m.. the next morning my wife got up and smelled natural gas in the home. We had to shut off the gas and called NW Natural. NW Natural sent out an emergency tech who found a leaking gas valve and repaired the issue. We were SHOCKED that a technician would leave a job and not check for gas leaks..OMG!!!!!!
I called the owner, Scott Woodward to complain about the tech and that he left gas leaking in our home. I NEVER received a reply, apology or explanation! When the tech was here the first time, we had him quote us on a new Heating and AC system. There is NO way in @#* I would ever let Woodward Heating near my gas appliances again, now or in the future....

Gary, I am terribly sorry for your experience. Obviously that is not the experience we stride for at Woodward Heating. Clearly you can see that we have hundreds of great reviews to validate our true level of service and craftsmanship. Unfortunately, it appears we dropped the ball on your repair rather significantly. I spoke with the technician and he feels incredibly low. Especially since he has several years experience. He's a great technician and a true asset to our team and unfortunately he made a mistake. It happens though. We are all human and we all mess up from time to time, and as a business owner I understand and accept that. As a company we can only hope to remedy the problem the best we can and move forward. Unfortunately, in your situation, we weren't given that opportunity. Had you contacted me directly I would have gladly issued a full refund, but I haven't received any voicemails, email or texts from you. You can even be transferred directly to my cell phone from my office voicemail. Glad you are safe and well taken care of. I hope you enjoyed the New Year and wish you nothing but the best for 2021.
Regards,

RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER
First of all my name is Gary, not Ed. Scott, contrary to your response, the photo-evidence attached proves the fact that I did indeed call to speak with the ""owner"" to file a complaint. The receptionist told me Scott Woodward, the owner, was on vacation ( I would not know that fact if I had not spoken to someone in your office that day). After I hung up I decided I did not want to wait until after Christmas to resolve the issue and called back and your receptionist connected me to your voicemail and I left a very detailed message. The attached photo-evidence shows a 2 minute call from my phone which is how long it took to leave that voicemail.
I do not know why you did not receive my voicemail which I stated that I left for you in my first post. However, I would think you would want to investigate so it does not occur again and you don't miss other voicemails from customer who wish to speak to you.
You stated in your response that you would have issued a refund had I contacted you by e-mail, voicemail or text. Since the attached phone record shows that is exactly what I did, please issue the refund as soon as possible.
Scott Woodward
Gary D. Kuhn I am not saying you didn't speak with someone in my office. I am clearly stating that I did not receive a voicemail from you with your unfortunate experience. Happy to issue a full refund. Go ahead and email me [email protected].
UPDATE: UPDATED RESPONSE: 1-7-21
I e-mailed requesting the refund. I received the e-mail (below) this morning from the Owner where he states my refund is contingent upon the removal of my one star review. I am not motivated by money nor can I be bought off. Therefore, my review remains and will not be removed. I believe that communication between customer and owner is not allowed on review platforms.
Morning,
For refunds we require all negative social media comments to be removed. Is that something you can do?

Rick H.On time, professional, thorough, very informative and helpful, considerate, masked for Covid-19 protection, personable. No glitches or concerns.
The guys installed outdoor natural gas heater on my deck. They were efficient and friendly. Done in one day. Now my deck can be used in the colder months.
I had a tune up performed on my heating and A/C unit recently and was very happy with the service. They showed up prepared with a mask, shoe covers and a great attitude. I was educated on some important features of my units and Justin was very professional. He took his time answering my questions and performed his work efficiently. I highly recommended Woodward Heating!
The tech showed up at the scheduled time. He was fairly certain of what the problem was. He was correct. He had the tools and the parts to fix the problem. He fixed it it very efficiently, and gave a great explanation of what he was doing. When he was done he made sure the problem was fixed.
Called this company twice, spoke to an employee and was told each time that I'd be contacted shortly. I waited 2 weeks each time. I never received a call back. I wasted time on them when I was ready to pay for a very expensive ductless system. I rate them inconsiderate and inefficient at this basic level of customer service.
