I have used Woods a few times because they were the company that installed my air condition unit on my new construction home in 2019. I had several problems in the beginning, from the upstairs controlling the downstairs, to a damper issue, to a leaky air vent (that took three years to fix). My ac stopped working in August so I called Woods, because I don't know anything about ac's or other companies. They came out on 8/22/23, diagnosed it as a faulty txv and quoted me almost $1000 to repair it (for labor only, the part was covered by warranty). With their little service plan you can get a small discount so I signed up for that because it would cost about the same ($1010 vs $938 for the repair only). Mind you this was told to me to be a two hour job, meaning about $469 per hour. After the tech left I decided to call around because $1000 is my deductible for a whole new system, and I'm glad I did because another company was able to come out the same day to diagnose and fix the real issue (a leak in the evaporator coil).
I called within an hour of the tech leaving my home to cancel with Woods. I was told it would be cancelled and the refund department would contact me. The next day I got a call from Woods trying to schedule the repair. I advised that I had cancelled the day before, that another company fixed my ac and with cheaper labor rates. The lady apologized for that and assured me that the refund person is who would be in touch. I sent an email through their website the weekend of 8/26 asking to be contacted regarding this issue since I hadn't received my refund, I got no response from that. I called again a few days later (8/29) since the charge had not been cancelled. I was transferred to the refund person who told me they would look into it and call me back that afternoon. No call back. I called again the next day, asking to speak to a supervisor, manager, someone to ensure that I would receive my money back. I was told that the refund would be issued on that Friday, 9/1/23. I was told a 15% restock fee of $115 would be charged (even though the part, which was under warranty, never should have been ordered since I'm sure they didn't order it by the time I notified them less than an hour after they left my home that I no longer wanted to go with them for the repair and the part was not part of my invoice- the cost was only for labor, how you can restock a labor charge I'm not sure). I waited and still a few weeks later the charge remained on my account on 9/19/23. Per my bank there was nothing pending, no refund, no credit, nothing. After speaking with my bank and filling out the online contact form again for Woods, they finally called, they tried to assure me that they had issued the refund. I asked to be emailed the refund transaction so I could send it to my bank. They called back explaining that the initial step of the refund was done but not whatever had to happen to actually issue my refund, meaning they never issued the refund. So that day I did eventually get a refund issued after a month, only for $811 from a $1010 charge. They kept $199 after telling me the "15% restock fee" was $115. None of their math adds up, even 15% of $1010 is $151, they kept 20%. While they are nice on the phone, it doesn't make up for their lack of communication within their own departments, misdiagnosing my issue, charging 20% of quoted labor while claiming to charge 15% of a refund for a "restock fee" for a part that actually costs well under $200 and never should have been ordered, or keeping $1000 for an entire month because of their own poor business practices. My intent was to just never use this company again but after so many issues with getting my money refunded, on top of keeping more money than they claimed they would, I feel like other people need to know to beware.
I would suggest not going with this company if you want to ensure a proper diagnostic for the correct issue, decent communication and proper handling of your money. Had I not gone with the other company I would have ended up having to pay additional labor charges for a completely different repair service for my actual issue (which after all this makes me wonder if that was the whole intent, to make as much as possible off of multiple repairs from a female homeowner who doesn't know ac stuff). 0/10 do not recommend.

Had them out for a system "they" installed 4 years ago. Charged me 300 bucks to replace a 20 dollar part, and blew smoke up my ass as to why it wasn't warranty. I understand 10 year parts, 2 years labor, but didn't even give me a break down and was only here an hour. Do not use this company, high overhead for all their nice trucks equals high prices for mediocre work. Will never use them again. Find someone else.

Karl Boher did an Awesome job during our Bi Annual warranty maintenance check. He was Prompt, Personable, Professional and Knowledgable. He offered answers to our questions and reassured this homeowner that our WOODS Comfort System was the Right Choice.

These guys and gals are the best! They did a complete install for me a few years ago including all new design and ducting. The system is awesome. David Partain is a man of his word and the Techs have never let me down. I've always been very satisfied dealing with them. Michael Eisenhauer is a great Technician who get my highest recommendation. Thanks Micheal!

My AC went down after business hours yesterday. Woods Comfort Systems had Michael Eisenhauer here within the hour to quickly diagnose and order the parts needed. Michael had the parts ready first thing this morning and got the system back up and running. Always right on time and the best service! Thanks Michael! Thanks Woods Comfort Systems!

This company has been a pathetic excuse for a company. Unfortunately, we didn't choose them. We built a new home with Caledonia and they are the contractors they went with for HVAC.
A few days after moving in, our AC suddenly stopped working. A technician came by. He was hardworking and nice, but that didn't solve the larger issue.
He discovered we had a leak (on a BRAND NEW system). He let us know his company would be informed and in the meantime we'd be topped up....and then crickets. Never heard from Woods Comfort.
We expected them to quickly resolve THEIR ERROR especially with 108 degree weather in the forecast. Boy, were we wrong. 10 days later the same thing happened, and we got the same response. Just a top up and no urgency to fix this.
we spend 3 days almost suffering from heat stroke in over 100 degree weather because of this company.
Although their technicians are great, the company is awful. Please stay away from this company. We're considering legal action--that's how bad it is.

They are the only HVAC company that's ever called me back after missing my call, and on a Sunday! Their technician named Juan was polite, professional, and thorough. After the initial repair, he took the time to inspect the rest of the outside unit and as well as the furnace. He answered all my questions along the way very friendly and honestly and made money for his company without robbing me blind. My little girl can sleep nice and cool tonight because of the good people at Woods. I'd put my trust in them any day of any Texas summer.

I recently purchased a home whereby one HVAC maintenance visit from Woods Comfort Systems conveyed with the purchase of the home. I called Woods to schedule the maintenance visit and they initially told me that the owner did not transfer the maintenance to me, which I knew was incorrect because I previously confirmed with Woods that it was transferred. I was told then told that they would research my account and call me back. A few hours later, someone from Woods called me back and told me that because it had been 7 months since they visited the house (August 2021), they would have to charge me $125 to visit the house and make sure the A/C unit was in working order...??? Hello????I mean.. isn't that what a pre-paid maintenance agreement is for? Also... my home is only 3 years old. I explained that this made no sense as their competitors would charge me $200 for a new maintenance contract without having to come out in advance to inspect the HVAC unit for an additional $125. I also explained that their insistence to charge me an additional $125 would force me to go with a competitor and they would lose my business for the annual maintenance contract renewal. This didn't seem to matter to either the person at Woods that is responsible for transferring maintenance contracts or the girl that was relaying this information to me on the phone. Today, Wood Comfort Systems lost a new customer as I signed a maintenance agreement with McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning (5 Star Reviews..... check them out) and they will be out here to check the HVAC system in 2 weeks as part of my new maintenance contract at no additional charge.

The employees are great and have tried. The issue is that the Daikin system they put in is horrible. One of the worst decisions I've made in a long time is hiring Woods because they said how great the Daikin is.
I had a quote from another company for a Bryant 4T Evo X HP 22 SEER for $27,152.90. Woods wanted over $35,000 for the same system. My gut said go with Southern Temp Control and get the Bryant. Woods insisted the Daikin was better and never had issues. I paid woods $24,772 for the Daikin systems. Serious mistake. Pay $2,500 more for the better system and use another company. Watch, I bet if I want to change it out based on the "2 year test drive" they'll have some way of adding fees and still want to charge $8,000 more than the other quote I had.
Great employees; Daikin is terrible and absent Daikin they are way overpriced.
I want to add one more positive. They are quick to get out to look at this terrible system they put in.

Woods was a lifesaver when our AC stopped working this weekend. We have an older unit and thought it would have to be replaced. The technician came out within 24 hours and was able to do a flush service and said that our unit is in great condition still. Reasonable prices and fast professional service. I highly recommend this company
