Company Overview

A great deal has transformed since we launched Woodruff Energy in 1869. We began as a humble coal delivery service for families and enterprises in Southern New Jersey, we now offer a wide range of HVAC, plumbing, and remodeling services, catering to thousands of customers from the Delaware River to the Garden State Parkway. Throughout our 150 years in South Jersey, our loyalty to the local businesses and communities has been unwavering.

For the initial 80 years, we dedicated ourselves to coal delivery, running the business from the Woodruff family home. We were the first coal merchant in the area to start selling fuel oil in 1931, and we added a service department, positioning ourselves as a ""Complete Heating Service"" company. We have continually evolved to address our customers' shifting energy requirements. Lately, we have diversified our services to include biofuels, natural gas, propane, heating oil, and HVAC.

Woodruff, Jr. is a 1993 alumnus of the University of Delaware, where he received a BSBA in Agricultural Business. Being the fifth generation to guide the company, Bob stepped into the position of Co-President in 2006 and became President in 2009. He has led the company into the burgeoning natural gas and propane markets, and introduced Biofuel into the home heating oil and diesel sectors. Beyond his role in the company, Bob is actively involved in his community. He currently holds a position on the Board of Directors at the First National Bank of Elmer, acts as Treasurer of the Marlton Recreation Association Board, is also the Treasurer for the Woodstown Little League, and founded the Woodstown Heat Baseball Club. Bob has previously been Vice President of the Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey. He and his wife Jennifer live in Pilesgrove, NJ, with their three children, Kathryn, Robert III, and Benjamin.
