I’ve been interested in repairs for as long as I can remember. I learned some plumbing basics many years back. Thirteen years ago, while managing an apartment building in downtown Oakland, I took on many maintenance responsibilities. I was tasked with plumbing work by the owner, and I quickly fell in love with the trade. Ten years ago, I established Women's Plumbing Repair in downtown Oakland; we’re willing to go anywhere in the Bay Area when needed. Two years ago, I welcomed Paco, a skilled drain specialist, to my team, and we work together to serve our community well. Paco is a wonderful asset; he’s a joy to work with, and we work together harmoniously. We do our utmost to be on time and offer quality service, aiming to build your trust.
Having my own plumbing business has been the highlight of my professional life. I enjoy my work and appreciate my customers. With a fantastic employee by my side, I believe we deliver exceptional service to the entire Bay Area.

One star for coming on a Sunday when our water main broke.
No stars for charging $200 per hour and being very very slow about everything.
No stars for complaining a lot and making it seem like she was doing us a big favor.
No stars for bossing everyone around and telling them what to do when she could have done things herself.
No stars for constantly complaining about her ailments, and actually having a kind volunteer perform all of the repairs for free, and charging us almost $450.
I think the only reason that the pipe got repaired at all was because someone else really qualified, who was not associated with her business, took over and did all of the work. Really really disappointed.

I had a disposal issue yesterday and was panicking slightly because of a birthday party that is happening here this weekend...I was so lucky to find Jac, the owner of Women's Plumbing Repair! I called, left a message and within an hour and a half, not only did she call me back, but interrupted her lunch break to swing by the house and fix the issue. I liked her work ethic so much that I hired her again to replace my kitchen faucet. She offered to go and buy the faucet but I declined saying that I wanted to pick one out. Needless to say, I picked what she suggested as it was the absolute best option and she came by today and had it replaced within an hour. I highly recommend Jac. She is upfront about fees, and knows her stuff! I'll definitely be calling her again to fix any plumbing issues that I have. Thank you Women's Plumbing Repair, YOU ROCK!

Jac was awesome - fixed the problem quickly, didn't overcharge us, and even taught us a few things about home repair in the process (we are total newbies at home ownership and she was really great about that). Will definitely call her again any time something starts leaking!!

I would recommend Jac to ANYONE...She is an absolute rockstar!!!
I have had 3 or 4 plumbers come through in the last few months and unable to fix my problem. The last 2 plumbers told me that I had to replace all of my pipes, which was what I was prepared to do when I called her. She came to my house and within 5 minutes, she isolated the problem. She found the root cause and fixed everything within 2 hours. She could have easily told me that I needed to replace my pipes, which would have cost me my arm and both of my legs! I am ecstatic to share that instead of opening walls and being without a shower for a couple of days, I am a proud owner of a shower that works and pipes that don't leak!!!
The second she came through the door I just knew that I was going to get good service. She has a way about her that is just honest and open...very good people!!

I think Jac is a capable plumber on her own. She has personally done work for me in the past and I was happy with the outcome. But with her increased popularity she has now taken on other workers, and I don't think she has gotten the hang of managing and communicating with them. She quoted me $150/hr for a water filter installation but when her worker came out he quoted $250/hr for the job. The difference in price was not explained, so my wife assumed he was trying to skim off the difference and sent him on his way. When I reached Jac over the phone she said they charge a higher rate per hour ($200/hr) for installing the filter in the basement instead of directly under the sink. The difference between the $200 and $250 still remains a mystery to me.
Her worker also quoted us $800/900 for moving a gas and water line for a washer/dryer. When I had this exact work done a couple of years ago by a different plumber, it cost less than $500 and the quality of the job was great. I know that it's a plumber's market right now due to the housing boom in the Bay Area, but for that price I'd rather just do the work myself.
She also got mad at me over the phone for having my wife interact with her worker instead of doing it myself, and for asking for a bid in the midst of a job. But I told her previously that my wife would be the one handling the interaction with the worker, and even gave her my wife's phone number in advance. She was fine with that at the time. And if she or her worker didn't want to give us a bid on the washer installation then they could have just said so.
Hopefully she will work out these kinks, but for the time being I'm going to find a different plumber.

Jac's 100th review!!! I can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks Jac!!!

Wow, I am impressed.
I had a small leak with my toilet and called late at night. She helped me diagnose it over the phone and explained how I could fix it on my own. She even called back several times when she thought of something else I could try. Couldn't believe how honest and helpful she was by not charging me to fix something that she thought I could fix by myself. A+ I will be a lifetime customer.

Jac has once again come through for us. She made a special effort to find an unusual part, squeezed us into her schedule and.tolerated my fumbling attempts to help. During the repair she pointed out some potential problems and how to avoid them. She's the best and because she's the best she's BUSY - but worth the wait.

Message from owner (after criticizing my review): ""Can we not work this out? it would be helpful to me to hear what your concerns are, I appreciate it, thanks.""
She did not care about our concerns before we posted a negative review on Yelp. And it's interesting that she criticized another customer for ""extortion.""

Finding a great plumber is right up there with finding a great family doctor. I can't imagine life without either because, when shit happens, you want the best. That'd be Jac Rose Weber at Women's Plumbing Repair in the case of plumbing. Can plumbing repair be a pleasurable experience? Yes it can. I have seen the light, and she is Jac...
