Wolfer's Home Services
Company Overview
Comprehensive plumbing and water quality care. Trusted Lennox dealer with a 110% money-back promise.
The story of Wolfer's Home Services started in 1901. The founder, Edwin Wolfer, launched the business in Anita, Iowa, near the Lennox factory. After marrying, Edwin relocated the business to Oregon in 1915. Wolfer's proudly stands as one of Woodburn's oldest enterprises, and the second oldest Lennox dealership in the nation.
Wolfer's has witnessed significant transformations in the heating and cooling industry. Central heating systems were not widely used when the business started. The region transitioned from coal and sawdust burners to oil heating, and eventually to gas and heat pumps. They initiated the installation of air conditioners and heat pumps in the 1960s. They installed their first heat pump at the ArrowHead Golf Club.
Wolfer's now concentrates on the installation and repair of HVAC systems. Our services extend to indoor air quality systems and sheet metal work. We cater to both residential and commercial clients. The General Manager, a dedicated member of the Wolfer's team.

Danira B.Company took advantage of my parents. They were in a stressful situation where their kitchen faucet/garbage disposal was leaking. An hour and a half of work by this company, they charged $938 for a garbage disposal and installation. And another $746 to replace a faucet that was provided. No clear communication and they were not upfront with any pricing details. I definitely do NOT recommend reaching out. You will find better estimates and better service with a quick google search. And I recommend checking out Better Business Bureau reviews.
Neal R.We called Wolfers for air conditioning spring start up. They told me that because our air conditioning system is under 10 years old they wouldn't do the servicing. I thought that was very strange because l see them on the T V running commercials all the time. I was told they just want to,sell new units and not do any repairs on older units. I would never call them with an older system because all they want to do is sell you a new system. When l need a new system l will call the one that serves my old one. I guess because they have the Costco contract they don't feel like they need to service anything else.
Fantastic experience when others couldn't help on the weekend, we had furnace go out, ended up our 27year old system had to be replaced, they gave us a great deal and were out here in 1 day and completed heating and ac in a day ..Fantastic service!
RIPOFF ALERT!
They are trying to charge people $989.94 for a SINGLE DAMPER ACTUATOR that retails for $102.59 on Amazon. (see photo) I am sure they get these things wholesale, so I'm estimating the markup to be well over 1000%.
And the labor to install one of these actuators is one screw and two wires, it literally takes 2 minutes to install one of these. I replaced three old actuators myself and it took me 15 minutes for the entire job. I am just stunned that they tried to charge me $2969.82 for this! It's totally outrageous.
This level of overcharging should be illegal (maybe it is??)
The worst experience I've ever had with a contractor.
Didn't even get proper permitting prior to the job. Only did it after the job was completed because I was asking for our file (5 times requested) still don't have it because it wasn't done.
Called the city myself and found out in 3 mins all the issues.
I've had to do all the follow up to make sure this project hopefully gets done correctly now.
P.S. I never leave bad reviews
They need to clean things up BiG time. It's a complete mess !!
There's sooooo much more but I don't want to waste any more of my time. Hopefully this will help save someone else from all the stress!!
0 stars if it wad available. We have a system that is barely 3 years old and every inspection there is an issue that the company caused by not installing it properly. From the time it was installed we had to shut it down in the heat of summer because a wire was about to catch fire, then when it was installed it has been running on emergency heat which has made our electric bill outrageous for 2 years and now it's the thermostat that they installed wrong that keeps switching back to emergency heat. The manager won't call us back and the receptionist told my husband that she doesn't care and that we have to continue to pay and have it inspected even though they made the mistake. We went with this company because of the reviews but the technician mistakes from the time of install and customer service in the office is upsetting because we spent a lot of money for this system.
Typo (autocorrect) in my review. It should say:
""Will not use them again, and cannot recommend them.""
NOT
""Will not sue them again, and cannot recommend them.""
Juan was incredible! He was on time, as well as super kind and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it the same day. Plumbing issues suck, but what sucks more is getting stuck with a company that values profit over people-- Wolfer's is NOT that. Their customer service is next level and their crew are outstanding. We will definitely be calling again.
They gave a good price on a quality unit and were quick. Everyone that I worked with was very friendly and personable.
However, the company isn't great at following through on their promises or keeping each other informed of client conversations.
They promised a specific time for the initial quote so that I could get to work afterward, but she was late. I appreciated her honesty and sincere apology for running late.
When scheduling, they offered the following Monday, but that day did not work for me as I was giving a presentation at work, and so I scheduled for Tuesday. The next day I received a call, from the same guy I had told that Monday would not work due to my presentation, asking if I wanted to switch to Monday since they had an opening.
On Tuesday, I was given a window for the installment of a new furnace. The apprentice was on time and sat in his car outside for 40 minutes until the installer arrived. He did call to say he was running late and would arrive in 15-20 minutes, but he actually didn't arrive for 30+ minutes. After they got started, he said the installation would take 6-8 hours, but it really took a little more than 11 hours. They forgot something that should have been in the truck but wasn't, and a co-worker brought that by. I was told the unit would ""definitely"" be much quieter than the old one, but it is actually louder; that could be, though, because it actually works to its full potential and the old one was chugging away with a weak fan.
Before the installation, I was not informed that a new pipe would need to be placed in the roof and run through the attic and ceiling; in fact, the lady who came and gave the quote told me she would let them know that they would not be able to access the attic space. Not so. They needed in the attic, and I was unprepared for that. I wish they had placed the vented pipe in a different location; I am not sure why it is a few feet away from the unit, leaving a not-so-pretty set of pipes running across the ceiling. When I pointed it out, they did caulk the area where the unit's intake attaches to the ceiling, but they did not run over it with a finger or caulking tool so it's lumpy looking.
I was given a ""we leave it cleaner than when we arrived"" guarantee by the lady who wrote the quote, but there is some caulk on the carpet that won't come out, and one of the guys left his gloves.
Upon completion of the install, they did a great job explaining all the functions of the new unit and the thermostat, and they thoroughly answered all my questions pertaining to how they work. Again, the two installers were very nice and easy to work with.
The next day, I received a phone call asking about scheduling for the inspection, but I was at work and it wasn't good timing. I called back to schedule, but there were no openings that worked for me where I was able to be home the whole day; I was told they could not narrow the window more than 8am-4pm, and that they are only able to schedule out for one week. It was suggested I call back the next week to schedule for the following week. However, the next day I received a call from their schedulers to schedule the inspection; this caller was unaware that I had spoken with someone the previous day and that I was to wait and call back next week. The next week arrived, and I called Monday morning. This scheduler asked me if I prefer morning or afternoon, something the last person I spoke with told me they could not do. I chose afternoon.
I think it's interesting that no one has called to check in on how the furnace is doing or to ask if I have any follow up questions. They gave a guarantee that if they leave a mess they would send a housecleaning crew to clean my entire house. She told me, ""even if they just leave a tool here we send someone out to clean your whole house."" I don't really want that as it won't get the caulk out of the carpet, but it would have been nice if they had followed up to check how it went. All I received was an offer to rate the installer, but my rating is more about the whole company than one of the installers, and I don't want to fault the installer for my opinion of the whole company.
In all, friendly staff, quality furnace, and fair prices. Lacking in communication between team members, and not so great on follow through with estimated outcomes of time and quality.
Perfect gentleman did a great job and explained everything well.
Gave suggestions about filters and good airflow.
