Company Overview

Comprehensive plumbing and water quality care. Trusted Lennox dealer with a 110% money-back promise.

Wolfer's Home Services began its journey in 1901. The founder, Edwin Wolfer, launched the business in Anita, Iowa, near the Lennox factory. Following his marriage, Edwin moved the operation to Oregon in 1915. Wolfer's takes pride in being one of the longest-standing businesses in Woodburn, and ranks as the second oldest Lennox dealer in the country.

Wolfer's has witnessed significant transformations in the heating and cooling industry. Central heating systems were not widely used when the business started. They observed the shift from coal and sawdust burners to oil heat, and later to gas and heat pumps. In the mid-1960s, the company began installing air conditioning units and heat pumps. The first heat pump installation took place at ArrowHead Golf Club.

Today, the company focuses on the installation and repair of heating and cooling systems. Additionally, we offer indoor air quality services and sheet metal fabrication. We serve a diverse clientele, including residential and commercial sectors. As the General Manager, I have been a long-standing part of Wolfer's Home Services.

Should it really cost $500 for 45 minutes of work to install a sink? I don't care how good they are, that is outrageous.

I called to have the hot water mixer valve replaced on our Kohler shower faucet. I was told the parts were obsolete and unavailable. They gave me a quote of $2000 to replace the faucet by going through the wall in the adjacent bedroom. The quote did not include patching the drywall.

I contacted Koehler they sent all the replacement parts free of charge.

when I tried to contact Wolfer to discuss the issue with them no one would call me back.

We went through CostCo and replaced our heating and AC through Wolfers a couple years ago. Now we get to experience an entire summer without AC. Although our new system is still under warranty, we are looking at nearly 2k in repair costs for a system that went out in May and with August only a week away, we still have no date for a resolution in sight. Wolfers gives a very premium image, but the reality has been they are difficult to contact, poor internal communication, and far from affordable.

Wolfer's has done work for me for almost 20 years and, while very expensive, the work has been timely and dependably good. Sadly, that ended with the recent job Wolfer's attempted. What I consider to be a relatively simple repair of a leaky bathtub faucet has become a nightmare. Almost a one month lead time before a plumber could be assigned was the first surprise however I could understand given the current demand on the building trades. When my turn arrived on June 18th., I was assigned 2 plumbers which surprised me. Two Wolfer's vans showed up in my driveway at near the appointed time and Jacob introduced himself, came inside and proceeded to repair the leaky faucet. it took him about 40 minutes work time plus a few minutes to explain what he had done and also estimate another plumbing job. He charged me an unbelievable $455!! I balked and he gave a $35 coupon discount. And what about this second plumber in the van outside? (Photo evidence availabel). I think I just paid for 2 plumbers and one just sat in the van never to appear!

Sadly, the nightmare has just started. I have almost no water pressure in the separate shower and vanity sink in that bathroom after this ""repair."" I called Wolfer's, apparently got the answering service and was told the plumber couldn't return my call until Monday June 28th (4 days later!). I enquired of the operator about the 2 plumbers dispatched to the job and was told that there was one plumber ""Aaron"" and a helper, Jacob, that ""Aaron"" was to supervise. As I watched through my window, the mysterious Aaron sat in the van, never presented himself and obviously allowed a helper to perform questionable work. It's now over 2 weeks since the unacceptable work was performed by an unlicensed and unsupervised, although very nice, helper. No call from ""Aaron"" as promised and I now face the expense and inconvenience of hiring a competent plumber to assess and repair the repair attempted by Wolfer's!

Of note, after contacting AngI, formerly Angie's List, I received 3 calls within 2 hours offering to fix Wolfer's work with estimates ranging from $128-$195! All I can say is BUYER BEWARE when you call Wolfer's. Make sure an actual plumber does the work and compare prices beforehand. Sorry Wolfer's but you can't rely on your longevity to make right your shoddy workmanship and customer avoidance to correct the problem. And ""Aaron,"" I'm still waiting for your call....

Wolfers installed our AC unit in our new construction home 2 years ago. Installation service was good, however when our AC stopped working last week, we called several times and they kept putting us off with scheduling a service call to fix our AC. We called several more times and they STILL have NOT gotten a call back to schedule someone to come to our house to fix our AC. We believe, that Wolfers is about installation ($$$) and NOT about fixing AC units. So highly recommend you do not have Wolfers install your AC, for if you have a problem, they will not want to fix it.

3 calls answered by the answering service and an email to the service manager and still no response. Bought 2 Lennox units a little over a year ago and upstairs unit is not working. It's 112 degrees. Camping in our living room. All I need is a reply. But not happening. Not happy.

Went through Costco. Everything went as planned from our first phone call. Initial meeting, no high pressure sales, just objective information.

Install went off without a hitch, very efficient, clean installation and kept me informed the entire time. Would definitely recommend this company.

Had my AC unit go bad & their tech came out & mentioned sometimes people replace furnace also but I had zero issues with my furnace ever. I said we could look for a sticker on the outside that might tell us how old it was, but I was pretty sure from my home inspection it wasn't nearly as old as the AC. When we got to the unit I was caught off guard and in some disbelief, in a personal space invaded kind of way, when he started just opening up the furnace without asking my permission. He then proceeded to spin a part around like it was a toy (again without my permission). He failed to tell me the age which was visible, and also that it was a High Efficiency furnace. Sales guy had to tell me both of those details the following day. Sales guy also said the previous owners spent some decent money upgrading the system and that it was still in good enough shape to be used for several more years most likely and no need to replace. Went ahead and proceeded with the new AC purchase. Two days later AC installers came over, and now after three of their staff had tinkered with the furnace, the furnace would not start and a key part was overheating after they disassembled part of it during the AC install and then reassembled. Normally they would replace the part but because the first guy opened and played around with my furnace without permission, and no desire on my part for a furnace diagnosis, and claimed that after he spun this part it had a little stickiness, it was now my problem apparently that this guy treated my property as more his own than mine the homeowner. The original AC issue had been diagnosed already as a compressor issue with a bad winding in the compressor, and even this can happen from unneeded movement on what were for the outdoor AC unit older parts. A contractor had picked it up and dropped it back down from about 2/3 of an inch to check if was bolted to the slab & there is a chance this may have made part of the winding have contact with edge of compressor & a short on next use. It worked fine last summer and early fall & it was later the same day that contractor did that when I tried using it for the first time this year & it shorted. Wolfer's wants me to believe that my furnace magically failed the exact hour & minute after they had 3 guys touching it & then tried to start it for the first start after AC install. It is just as likely and more so IMO that it was due to their handling and tinkering with it (including first when done so needlessly and without permission). I had used the furnace all winter & spring and even just a few days before it failed after they installed the new AC. They also took 8 days to follow up with a tech to look at the furnace & I had to do all the legwork to make that happen. I didn't get my completed paperwork on day of AC install as was reluctant to do final signing after they could not start my furnace afterwards. Left a note with dispatcher to have tech bring the paperwork & he said he didn't do so cause he didn't like taking the extra short time needed to drive into the office. I also asked him to set up a C wire with the extra wire we had & he agreed that could be done but failed to do so. Instead he called his supervisor and said he recommended furnace replacement which I was not aware of. All he said was that the part had a little bit of stickiness. The sales guy said furnace was fine & was probably more investment by previous homeowners than what was required but that was to my benefit since was high efficiency. The note to replace per the tech had been deleted by their staff and that was also my problem. Sales guy saying was fine was the most recent info I had and also well aligned with me experiencing zero issues with my furnace ever. I was able to speak to supervisor after the tech tried to place all the blame on me and he was reluctant to even find middle ground. Just stated if wasn't for tech noticing that part (by being obtrusive earlier without asking my permission) that the part would have been replaced. I indicated to tech earlier that I was willing to have some room for compromise but he was less willing until the end when he softened a little & said he would get back to me by the end of the next day with the best he could do if I chose to replace the $900 furnace part. Of course he failed to follow up the next day or the day after that. The tech was finally able to lubricate & get the spinning part to turn over but it now squeals like a banshee and is not in the condition it was before being handled and tinkered with by Wolfer's staff. I called Able's Heating and Cooling & they said the part should have been replaced free of charge. BEWARE OF WOLFER'S!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM DAY ONE!! ZERO STARS :(

The pressure expansion tank on our older hot water tank started leaking profusely and we had to shut the water to the house off. I called Wolfer's and they tried to get a service technician to our house right away but they were all scheduled. I called again and begged them to get some one out to fix the problem. I got a call from the Hvac and plumbing manager and he said he would get a plumber out before the day was over. The plumber arrived around 5pm and thankfully he had a new expansion tank in his truck and was able to replace our leaking one and get our water back on. Yahoo and thank you to everyone at Wolfer's.

I can't recommend this company. NO service after the sale. Don't be fooled in by a good deal and happy faces on installation. Couldn't get anyone to schedule an appointment for FIVE days. The ""dispatcher"" that handled it was ""unavailable"".
I called during business hours and got the answering service! Got a person twice but they had to ""forward the information to the dispatcher"". The ""dispatcher"" finally called after five days-I already had a service call scheduled that day with another company.
