Wolfer's Home Services
Company Overview
Plumbing and water quality solutions. Lennox dealer with a 110% money-back guarantee.
Founded in 1901, Wolfer's Home Services has a rich history. The founder, Edwin Wolfer, launched the business in Anita, Iowa, near the Lennox factory. After marrying, Edwin relocated the business to Oregon in 1915. Wolfer's proudly stands as one of Woodburn's oldest enterprises, as well as the second oldest Lennox dealership across the United States.
Wolfer's has observed a lot of evolution in the heating and cooling field. At the time of its inception, central heating was a rarity. They observed the shift from coal and sawdust burners to oil heat, and later to gas and heat pumps. In the mid-1960s, the company began installing air conditioning units and heat pumps. Their inaugural heat pump was set up at ArrowHead Golf Club.
Wolfer's now concentrates on the installation and repair of HVAC systems. Our services extend to indoor air quality systems and sheet metal work. We cater to both residential and commercial clients. General Manager and long-time team member of Wolfer's Home Services.

The pressure expansion tank on our older hot water tank started leaking profusely and we had to shut the water to the house off. I called Wolfer's and they tried to get a service technician to our house right away but they were all scheduled. I called again and begged them to get some one out to fix the problem. I got a call from the Hvac and plumbing manager and he said he would get a plumber out before the day was over. The plumber arrived around 5pm and thankfully he had a new expansion tank in his truck and was able to replace our leaking one and get our water back on. Yahoo and thank you to everyone at Wolfer's.
I can't recommend this company. NO service after the sale. Don't be fooled in by a good deal and happy faces on installation. Couldn't get anyone to schedule an appointment for FIVE days. The ""dispatcher"" that handled it was ""unavailable"".
I called during business hours and got the answering service! Got a person twice but they had to ""forward the information to the dispatcher"". The ""dispatcher"" finally called after five days-I already had a service call scheduled that day with another company.
We purchased a new furnace/air conditioner approximately 5 months ago. Now that the days are heating up we attempted to use the air conditioner, to no avail. We have left VMs over the past four days requesting an appointment. No one has returned our calls. All we get is an answering service. I am rating Wolfer's with one star. Wolfer's touts excellent service and response time. That is not the case at all.
Patrick S.I couldn't seem to get Wolfer's to follow through on a $99 service call to provide a plumbing estimate to stub-in hot/cold water and a drain to my garage for a utility sink. I made my appointment date, cleared my morning schedule and waited 3+ weeks to meet with the plumber and they did not show. I received a call later that day from Wolfer's to inform me the plumber was out and could not show up (duh!) and to apologize and reschedule. I remained patient and rescheduled, cleared my morning schedule again and waited another month to meet the plumber. Wolfer's called me the morning of the 2nd scheduled plumber visit to cancel AGAIN. They apologized and asked to reschedule a THIRD time. I declined that opportunity and all future services that Wolfer's offers. I do feel bad for Wolfer's because I also need a new furnace at some point this year and they lost my confidence and business over this. Now I need to track down a reputable company. Sigh!
The installers were great. They were on time and finished the job on time. They were very pleasant and helpful with teaching me about the new systems.
Communication with the office wasn't great, they were hard to reach by phone. I recommend this company despite that, they do quality work.
Raven E.Now that I've been working from home for over a year (thanks covid) I decided this year I am getting central air and don't wanna work all day in a hot room. Went through Costco and they connected us to this place. The guy came out to provide an estimate and OMG...just shy of $15k! I have a small newer home...no duct work needed. I got bids from three other companies and none of them even came close to wolfers estimate...for the same equipment! How?!?! The guy that came out was pointing out I don't have a top of the line furnace and that I should consider replacing it! It's not even 10 years old, been serviced yearly and has had no issues are you kidding me? He also made it sound like such a massive undertaking to put central air in and just didn't know about adding a second thermostat in for the second zone...are you kidding me? Every other place was like no problem, do it all the time. Can't believe Costco does business with this place. If you're in the market for central air do yourself a favor and get a couple bids from multiple places.
They moved my appointment to later in the day to accommodate someone else. Canceled me at the time they were supposed to show, then tried to rebook me a week later. Guess I'm not important enough to them, so I'll by my water heater somewhere else.
My furnace had been acting strangely for a couple;e of days (working then not working) so when it quit working the second time I call Wolfer's because they were an authorized Lennox repair company. I called them around 10:00 AM and I told them my heat was out and they were able to prioritize me and were at my house by 12:00 the same day! Steve, the service tech was very professional. It first looked like a couple of switches were defective and I think most service companies would have stopped there and ordered the parts but Steve wasn't satisfied with the test results he was getting and did more diagnostic work which uncovered a much more serious problem; a cracked heat exchanger. Steve took the time to explain and show me how serious and dangerous this was. He immediately disconnected the furnace and tagged it. Steve said that since Lennox no longer supported this furnace, that I would need to have a new furnace installed. Since I was the original owner Lennox would provide a substantial discount. Steve contacted his office and by 4:00pm the Lennox sales guy; Arin was at our house providing us with the details for a new furnace install and the discounts we could expect. With the Lennox discount, the price of the new furnace was very reasonable. Arin also told us that they had the new furnace in stock and they could have it install the next day! The following day two installers (didn't get their names) were at the house by 9:00AM and they had the furnace installed and working by 2:00pm. I was very impressed with the service I received from all the people at Wolfer's who worked on replacing my furnace. I highly recommend this company and will use them again.
Matthew W.Wolfer's came out to work up an estimate for two projects - one small and one much larger. I paid their $95 fee for the visit and workup. A week later they sent me the estimate for the tiny project, but not for the larger. I emailed them twice and called them twice over a two-week period. Still, I've received no estimate and no response to my last email from two weeks prior.
Priscilla A.Our condo building has a commercial contract with Wolfer's. They told our condo chair we could upgrade the MERV rating in our furnace filter. I learned after the fact that we should not do this without a HVAC consultation. Called them and asked for an appointment with one of their techs to discuss. I was told they would call to schedule. A week later, no call. Guess I did not represent enough revenue for them to schedule or even tell me that they were not interested in my small fry job. Small fries unite, boycott Wolfers.
