Recommended Customer Reviews
Evan G.The Winters Company arrived at my home promptly after I called seeking assistance with my heating problem. They are very professional and knowledgeable in the field of heating and cooling, hence their pricing. But they also have a very helpful staff of mechanics that are willing to walk a customer, such as myself, through the difficult diagnostic process.
After helping me for two days straight, Zane, one of the company's dedicated workers, finally let me know that the job was going to be much more extensive than we could have anticipated. He had done some extensive work with the computer system and tedious troubleshooting, but after he realized that the work was going to be much more costly, he apologized for the consumption of our time, and did not charge us for his work.
Overall, I'd have to say it was a bummer to be without heat, but the professionalism this company has to offer is second to none. If a customer is left in the cold after their visit they are understanding.
For extensive work, such as a replacement furnace, we were explained their lenient payment plans (12 months same as cash with extended warranties) which is definitely caused me to ruminate over the possibility of calling them in for future work. Yes they cost more, but the service is top notch.
P H.They did not fix my heat...so why did I give them a full 5-star rating? Customer service, which is a lost art lately. In their defense, they would have been able to fix it, but it was a repair beyond the original assessment (the previous owners had ""modified"" the furnace with aftermarket parts that were sub par).
The technician was completely honest with us about the costs, too. He stated that, while the quote was a bit higher than other companies, it was because it included parts, labor, all guarantees, and any follow-up services.
He spent about 3-4 hours of his time diagnosing the problem, installing a few parts that he hoped would work despite the faulty aftermarket parts, and talking with us about our options. Then...he DID NOT CHARGE US ONE RED CENT! I am not kidding. I never imagined that a company would be so honest. I was afraid that moving to the ""big city"" from down south would mean dealing with people who would try to take advantage of my ignorance, but this company totally squashed that notion.
Although the repair was not as they originally thought, the company offered us an alternative option that will fix the problem until we can buy a new furnace in a few years.
They also apologized profusely for not being able to fix the problem that night (even though the problem was really out of their scope).
Again, this company is great and I am completely happy with their work.
The repair worker's name was Zane, and he was beyond amazing. A true professional, and very friendly. If you can, ask for him!!
OK, This place was a bit pricey, but they were professional, licensed, insured, and are processing permit for me. Zane came out, and was quick and professional. You could get work done cheaper, but as a homeowner its just better to get it done right the first time.Trust Me!
Thank heavens my husband understands electrical wiring! The installation of our new electric water heater does not even meet code and was a fire hazard. We called the company, and they will be sending someone else to fix it.
Avoid at all costs!
Darragh C.Atrocious price gouging. I live out of state and just got a quote for a new garbage disposal install. Parts and Labor - $850 for cheapest option - $3000 for full service contract. Local plumber I called after these guys (after he stopped laughing) gave me a quote of $325 parts and labor.
Don't bother getting a quote from them...they probably stay afloat because they're well advertised by virtue of taking over for Hub Plumbing and they get $69/service visit regardless of whether or not they do anything. Save your money and call anyone but these guys.
Winters should be ashamed of itself. I have used them in the past and knew they were high in price....but they have now gone crazy over what the job should cost. I just had an estimate of $850 to replace a kitchen faucet.....oh really?? Instead I called a handiman and he did it for $75. Thanks for nothiing Winters and I will never call you again.
John M.I had a brand new state-of-the-art HVAC system installed in my condo by another contractor that managed to botch every single aspect of the job. What should have taken a week or so ended up with a nearly two month saga. After their obligations were complete, I promptly switched to Winters Company at the recommendation of several of my neighbors and purchased their all included service plan. The price was not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. The senior HVAC expert who inspected my system, Victor, is extremely competent in the HVAC/R field, came with the latest test and measurement equipment, and knew off the bat how to work with a very modern fully electronic system. Winters takes care of their contract holders and I always receive courteous dispatchers and very prompt and friendly service, even on the one time I needed to call them after-hours. Even when he was at home and off the clock, Victor took the time to coordinate with the on-call tech handling my issue and make sure it was handled correctly. Bottom line - if you want absolute piece of mind that you can get competent help at any hour when the heat or AC goes out without questions or expensive a la cart charges, having a service contract with Winters is the way to go. My only regret is that I did not use Winters for the initial installation.
We call Winter's to install a safety switch on our air handling unit. Zane arrived promptly only to reveal that our system already had an intact safety feature. He was honest, candid, and recommended various options to maintain our central AC going forward. Glad we called them!
I needed to replace my heating system back in 2010. I did not want to deal with National Grid anymore, so who to call? I asked around, called 3-4 HVAC companies, and Winters was THE ONLY ONE WHO ACTUALLY HAD A PERSON (not a machine)
ANSWER THE PHONE! ... sold! The point person for Winters presented several options/plans and was not just trying to sell me the most expensive option. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and honest. I had a furnace/heat pump system installed and the crew lived up to the expectations as well.
I did end up purchasing a service plan, (heating/plumbing) which is well worth it. No more waiting in the 6 hour window for National Grid! This year the Heat Pump was throwing out cool air through 2-3 cycles on a consistent basis. A technician came out, worked diligently to fine tune the glitch, however, was unable to totally fix the problem. He told me that Winters would call me within the 1/2 hour to arrange for another tech to come out asap. Lo and behold A PERSON CALLED ME (priceless), and worked with my schedule to send another technician out to correct the problem. He not only fixed the problem, he took the time to further explain the way the system communicates and operates!
Kudos to Rose, Sean, and Victor @ Winters. Nice to know a company does actually care about their clients :)
The heating system is solid. It really did lower my heating bill but now that the system is in place, I am having a hard time getting my rebate form. My wife has made several phone calls along with talking to Chris when he came out to pick up his heaters.
I finally received my rebate form and for the wrong amount.
Calling the company on Monday and lets see what they say. There is a huge difference between the rebate we signed when filling out the contract to the amount they wrote on the rebate form......stay tuned.
