Al, the owner and operator began his career in new builds and renovations before transitioning to service work.
With a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail soon became the top service technician. He then took on the role of manager of service training.
Not long after, he discovered that the workers were seen as just resources to maximize profits by exploiting people seeking help.
Frustrated with the dishonesty, greed, and inadequate work, Al decided to take a different path and pursued a new vision.
With Wingman Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc., we work hard to understand your situation and identify any potential hidden issues to provide you with multiple repair options and pricing so you can make an informed decision that reflects YOUR best interests, not ours.

Kathleen M.Yes! Finally!!! We have struggled to find a plumber that was reasonable in price, knowledge, professional, personable and honest. I was losing hope until a good friend recommended Wingman. The appointment was easy to get, the plumber arrived, got the job done, recommended a great scrap guy and was on his way. I can now say we have a plumber!
We had a mini split ac unit installed and could not have been happier with the job from start to finish. During our initial meeting with Al, he was very thorough, attentive, and professional. He made certain that any and all questions were addressed. He was also transparent when offering us an estimate. He proved himself to be very trustworthy. On the day of the install, he and his crew worked well together and did an outstanding job. Once again, at the end of the day (a hot day!) Al was available to answer any and all questions. In a time when there are perhaps questions about who one can trust, Al and Wingman Plumbing proved themselves to be trustworthy, professional, and extremely competent. I would recommend Wingman Plumbing without reservation.

We are so impress with Wingman. Called them for a boiler maintenance and they came out the very same day. Excellent service. Excellent customer service from the start to finish. Highly recommend
Phil R.Most people wait to call a plumber until it's unavoidable, and then can't wait for the plumber to leave. By the time Wingman Plumbing & Mechanical finished their work, I was sad to see them go.
If your goal is to pay for all the plumbing work you need and none of the work you don't, stop playing footsie with the cheapo company with free estimates and no reviews and just call Wingman already.
Al and Chad did a big-boned project that spanned about 6 weeks. Our house is 100 years old, and was renovated about 4 years ago, so of course there was a little baggage. We've never had a plumbing emergency here, but we like to prevent FUBAR situations when we can. Also, enough performance issues bugged us for long enough that we wanted to blast through the whole list.
Wingman's work consisted of 3 rounds of work, on 3 different days:
Round 1: The guys replaced our Mesozoic Era outdoor spigot with a frost-free spigot I'd bought (a Prier, which turned out to be Wingman's recommended brand). That mini-project included replacing the leaky indoor gate valve with a nice ball valve. That had been a burr in my saddle. The other thing they did in Round 1 was replace the shutoff valve on our downstairs toilet. Hadn't been an issue, but in his initial walk-through / estimate Chad noticed some corrosion that I hadn't.
Round 2: We expected the showdown at the O.K. Corral, because it was the day Wingman had to work on the supply line entering the basement, AND replace the water heater.
Our pressure had been low, and the supply line stuck out a foot farther into our basement than it needed to, so initially I wanted them only to increase the size of the pipe and reroute it closer to the foundation. In the walkthrough Chad said I'd probably also need the supply-line nipple replaced (it was corroded), and during Round 1 Al confirmed that. So we added that to the list. Al had the North Attleborough Water Department on-site at the beginning of Round 2, in case the supply-line nipple replacement got hairy and required a shutoff at the street. Turned out we didn't need one, which was good. The boys replaced and rerouted the supply line as planned, which solved the low pressure. But our water volume was still low. Al narrowed the problem down to the gate valve at the street, which was the Town's responsibility to replace. (Between Round 2 and Round 3 the Town replaced the gate valve, which solved the volume issue. It's worth noting that Al coordinated that with the Town, which he didn't necessarily need to do. That was probably a PITA for him, but he didn't let on. He's that kind of guy.)
The water heater replacement was straightforward. Our old Whirlpool was corroding and had a pipe leak that I'd bodged shut 18 months before. They drained the sludge out of it and hauled it off.
We ended up getting the 50-gallon HTP electric water heater (stainless steel) with the maximum warranty. I had considered getting a hybrid or an 80-gallon, but Al said he didn't think we needed either. I'm glad I listened to him, because the new water heater is a beast. I had a forehead-slapper moment when Al and Chad recommended moving the new unit about 15 feet from its original spot. The new location is better.
Round 3: Major drainage surgery. What prompted Round 3 was a downstairs shower leak I hadn't been able to figure out. Turned out the cause was a loose strainer basket. In troubleshooting that, the guys also noticed that our laundry and kitchen drainpipes were pitched too steeply, and that the kitchen drainpipe wasn't vented correctly (which I'd suspected once we caught some bad whiffs in the downstairs bathroom every time we'd run the dishwasher). The kitchen drainpipe also wasn't wide enough. This final shootout wasn't as exciting as Round 2 was, but it was probably the most work. Al and Chad replaced and re-pitched several drainpipes, added cleanouts, replaced a trap, replaced the strainer basket under the shower, and re-puttied the strainer. The end result of Round 3 was we could use the downstairs shower again without leaks (which then allowed me to make some changes to the whole shower area), the pipes were vented properly, and the drainage was faster, didn't cause smells, and less likely to develop a clog.
Al and Chad do rock-solid work, are honest and reliable, and are fun and easygoing guys who clearly enjoy their trade. Every time they were over they didn't displace my wife, our baby, or our 3 cats.
I say pay to get it done once and get it done right. Our 3-part project cost a good chunk, but it was a ton of work, and included the new water heater (with the max warranty). Every line item was fair and reasonable. If anything, the whole burrito cost a little less than I expected.
They may be busy or hard-to-reach when you call or email, but they're worth any back-and-forth and a wait. I doubt we'll need more plumbing work for a while, but if and when we do I'll definitely call Wingman Plumbing.
Ray Y.I can speak to Al and Chad's workmanship. It was top notch. In addition - like Chris has spoken to - they go above and beyond. They replaced a shut-off valve and the outside facet that was dripping due to the shut-off valve failure. $350 - just as stated. However when performing the job they noticed that the expansion tank had failed. Indeed there was a second expansion that was unneeded that also had failed. They explained that I was more than capable of doing the replacement and went step-by-step on how to perform it. They measured the street water pressure to ensure I pressurized the tank correctly. They then spoke to my wife about a facet leak and they explained why I couldn't access it (and they would lunch it themselves). I didn't even have to slip them a $20 to get me out of hot water :) . I've had cheaper plumbers come in - and back again to fix what should have been fixed the first time. I've not had better. Al is Top Gun. Chad a solid wingman.
Christopher D.Note: this review is in regards to the phone interaction I had with the business, not any workmanship rendered.
Came home this last Monday night (1/21/19), the day after the snow to rain to flash freeze and temps overnight around 0, and found several ceiling tiles in the basement had water damage, but were now dry. Figured it was a temperature related pipe issue, so I looked around on Yelp and found Al and his team at Wingman Plumbing. Sent them a message on Tuesday and got a response back a couple hours later saying they had availability Thursday or Friday (I said it wasn't an emergency because there was no more leaking).
I called the office Wednesday morning and spoke with Al. Explained a little more of the situation, and then he told me it would be $250 to come out an investigate. If a repair was needed, that $250 would go towards the repair, but if human error (ie spillage or shower curtain not in), then I would be out $250.
Al then went on and helped me trouble shoot over the phone to make sure I actually needed him and his team to come out. He went through many possibilities and sure enough, human error (ie I myself) was to blame when I did some troubleshooting on our fridge's water dispenser.
Although we didn't need Al to come out, the troubleshooting he provided over the phone instead of just pushing me to make a $250 appointment made a large impression. I can't speak to their workmanship, but based on this interaction, I will contact them in the future if need arises!
We have heat - yeah!!!! Thanks to Al and Chad from Wingman. So grateful for their successful troubleshooting, fixing old boilers to make hydronic and steam heat work in our old house.
Communication was great. On time, stayed late on a Friday to make sure the job was done. Clear explanation of options; clear invoicing and pricing.
We definitely recommend them - especially if have an old house and it is not the run of the mill solution or easy fix. Sure they do that well also.
I had issues with my plumbing on Dec 23rd and I called a bunch of 24hr plumbing services. Wingman Plumbing was the only one to return my call and I am so thankful for that. Al walked me through the issue and felt there was no need to pay the fee for an Emergency Service but would come the next day to make the repairs. Al showed up on Christmas Eve mind you, and got through the repairs in an extremely professional, personable, and thorough manner. He also explained all the repairs to me which I appreciated. If you want amazing service and fair pricing give Wingman Plumbing a call.
Requested a quote but I did not schedule one as they charge $125 to quote, which would be refunded if you hire them. 4 stars for their quick response.
Definitely would work with these guys again. Called about a toilet leak and replacing a spigot on our house. Over the phone, Al guessed what was going on with the toilet and even explained how to take care of it myself, really appreciated that. He could've kept quiet and made the simple repair, so I knew I was dealing with an honest businessman. Him and his crew arrived on time and were able to replace the spigot at a fair price. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Wingman to friends and family. The next time we need a plumber we will be giving Al a call.
