Company Overview

Industrial Plumbing Contractors Wilson Plumbing Company, a third-generation family enterprise, began in College Station, TX, established by the grandfather of current owner Terry Wilson. Initially an appliance store, C.O. Wilson discovered the need for plumbing services to complement its sales. This realization led to the creation of Wilson Plumbing Company. Terry Wilson learned the plumbing craft from his grandfather while working summers as a child. After his grandfather's death, Terry Wilson achieved his Master Plumbing License in December 1981, becoming one of the youngest plumbers to do so. In Austin, TX, Terry Wilson launched Wilson Plumbing Company, while his older brother continued to oversee the College Station store. Currently, Wilson Plumbing Company remains dedicated to the principles, ethics, and commitment to the dynamic plumbing field that his grandfather embraced. An authentic narrative of an American family business triumph.

I spoke to Chris at Wilson Plumbing. I'm writing this review because he was so helpful over the phone.

After a recent hard freeze in Austin, all the plumbers I called were super busy up with emergency burst pipe situations. But only Chris took the time to ask what my issue was and gave me some great advice during our call.

After many more phone calls I finally found another plumber who had an availability, but I'll definitely be calling Wilson Plumbing for any future issues.

After all the great reviews, I called Wilson plumbing to perform a hydrostatic test on a home I was planning to purchase. On the phone, I was told that it would cost b/w $150 and $300. The plumber was unable to get a seal on the line which meant that the test could not be conclusive. I was charged $450.

Got a new gas stove and the old valve was frozen. Wilson Plumbing showed up the next morning on time and swapped in a new valve within a hour. Professional and did great work. Would recommend.

I love Wilson plumbing. I needed them recently after the Arctic Blast of 2010 and were able to come out that day even though they were slammed. Yes, they may cost a bit more than the average plumber, but they are above average. They have great service, the folks who come out are very nice, professional, and helpful. I trust them to do the job and to do it right and I would not call anyone else.

These guys are professionals and do a first rate job. They are on time and do it right the first time. They seem a little pricey, but I have paid less , but for some inferior work, so you do get what you pay for.

I am giving this guy two stars because he was prompt, and mindful of his business. However he loses the other three because he gave me an estimate of 375 for a new water heater and the charged me 800 (after I negotiated with him) The part I find appauling was that he said he never gave me a estimate for 375, upon futher research i found that his price was a little high but ok, but had i known it was going to be that expensive i would have called around for a few other estimates. oh yeah and when i started kicking up sand about the price he threatened to go rip out the new water heater...sweet.

We have been using Wilson Plumbing for over 12 years now. We have NEVER been disappointed by them. They are always professional, friendly, and competent. They helped us with getting rebates from the city (nice!), have been able to save us money on fixtures, and they've always done an incredible job.
PS: You should actually do business with a company first before you trash it with a bad rating, Matt Q. All you know about them is the price you say they quoted.

Following the advice of some other yelp reviews, i gave Wilson Plumbing a call to bid on a remodel of a utility room/laundry area. They came out right away and provided a thorough review, discussed a variety of solutions, and in the end provided a very reasonable price. Their scheduling was quick and the work crew knocked the work right out. They even managed managed to clean out a pipe that a few other companies never seemed to have been able to get right.

I'm very pleased with the professionalism of these guys. First of all they told me about the City of Austin rebates I qualify for, ($200 per toilet! Whoohoo!) for water conservation, and gave me the exact model number, and where I could buy it myself at a discount on the east side, and then were very easy to schedule to come in and install.

I've got several other plumbing projects, and I'll definitely used Wilson Plumbing again.

I have used Wilson Plumbing twice, dealt with different crews each time, and been beyond satisfied on each visit. Having dealt with plumbers who cost less per-hour, but cost more over the long haul, I'll go with these guys every time from here on out. They are friendly, professional, and on time.
