Will's Plumbing & Testing Service started in 1999!
Samantha (Sam), the owner's daughter and the youngest of his four children, joined her father, Will Shilling, in September 2012 after her service in the United States Coast Guard. Sam progressed through the organization, starting as a Dispatcher, then transitioning to Receivables, and ultimately becoming the General Manager in 2014. Sam has gained extensive practical training from her father, who is the Licensed Master Plumber and Owner of Will's Plumbing & Testing Service. She also works closely with her older brother Josh, a licensed Master Plumber, and her husband Marc, a licensed Journeyman Plumber. Sam oversees all operations for Will's Plumbing, including estimating jobs, training, Payables, billing invoices, team building, and taking calls and scheduling customers. She does it all! Sam and her husband Marc have a young son named William (Willie), after his grandpa Will Shilling. Sam is a essential asset to the Will's Plumbing Team!

Exorbitant charges ($333 after 10% discount) for a simple, five-minute replacement of one, repeat, only one, hose bib. Half of those charges would have been reasonable.
Response from the Owner: If I could confirm who you are, I'd contact you personally about your pricing issue. I would hope that even if the price upset you, you would be pleased that our service was above average. I'm not sure if we did the hose bib replacement, or simply provided a quote, but $350 to install a brand-new hose bib with vacuum breaker is very reasonable for this market. Our work is also done by a background checked, Texas Licensed Journeyman Plumber. I appreciate the opportunity to service you. - Sam Gonzales
Response from the Customer: Disagree. $350 to install a brand new hose bib with vacuum breaker is NOT at all reasonable for the SA market. Another local plumber charges $167 for a single hose bib replacement and an additional $8 for the vacuum breaker. Total charges would be $170, which include a 10% military discount and state sales taxes. Again, these charges were EXORBITANT.

I've been a long time customer of Will's and their customer service has gone down the toilet. Their prices have gone way up and the quality of work has gone the other way. Last year, I had a huge plumbing leak that they misdiagnosed which could've ended up costing me hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Luckily, it didn't but they never offered any money back for their error. This year, I called them for a water heater flush which we have them do every year. The price almost double. When I called to ask why this wasn't brought to my attention, the GM, Sam became very defensive and accused me of trying "bully" $20 out of her. Wow. I told her to keep the $20. It's worth it just to be done with them.
Update: I'm so glad Sam actually replied to my review because this demonstrates exactly how they treat long time customers. She just backed up everything I said.

I needed a hot water heater either fixed or replaced. They came the day after I called - they could have come same day, but severe weather was predicted, so they weren't sending out their techs. I appreciated that! The techs got there when the scheduler told me they would be, & the guys were very helpful and patient to answer my questions and also to help me make the best decision. (Actually steered me away from a more expensive option) They were able to complete the new water heater install the same day. Cleaned up, explained everything they did to me, and made sure I didn't have any other questions. (They honestly deserve 5 stars for service, but OY! the price!!! But they really weren't that much more than anyone else, I just wasn't expecting to pay as much as I did. The 2022 blues, right?)

So this will be my second time having Will's plumbing come out after dealing with two other plumbing companies and they are by far my favorite!
I had another recommended Yelp company come out previously and was not very thrilled with their professionalism and their work seemed shotty.
Called out Will's plumbing on another job about 8 months ago and absolutely love their customer service, professionalism and their pricing. So after having a few companies come out to do small jobs, I decided to have Will's plumbing do my water heater replacement. They did a fantastic job and even caught a couple of things that the other plumbing companies made a mistake on (worth noting I did not tell them I had previous companies come out as I wanted they are unbiased service)
So here we are now 8 months or so later, gave them a call again because to me they are the best service in town. Albert came out addressed my clogged drain and a strange noise LOL also had them give me an estimate to replace a toilet and get a salt water softener.
They've always showed up on time or early, have a great text messaging system to let me know when they're coming, just seemed to really take their time and talk me through everything. They've had a few chances to really run up a bill on me and they did not do it! Can't say enough good things about them

Needed a plumber ASAP to fix a "drip/leak job gone wrong...they arrived next day and had us working in no time. We will definitely be calling them back. They were able to advise my Mr. FixIt hubby how to proceed with the repair. Cost was minimal and very fair. Thank you so much!

I had a plumbing leak as a result of foundation shifting. Merritage builders contracted this company to identify the leak and repair. They had to come out 4 times to test and repair (ridiculous) just to end up being fired by the company and a new company taking over.
They messed up the wall in my restroom while working under my toilet. Smeared dirt everywhere

I can not say enough how amazing Josh was. He came out to our home and had a lot of work to do to help us fix our water heater. He was very detailed about everything that needed to be fixed and insured that he would help us! He even went above and beyond and applied discounts to help us save money on such an extensive job. We definitely didn't expect to have to pay so much for work to be done but he definitely made us feel better knowing that we wouldn't have any more issues with our water heater. I highly recommend using their services and an added plus was he even said we get a year warranty one all parts and the work that he did!!

Sewer Line Replacement
I had hoped to give five "stars" to Will's. They showed up on schedule every time, were friendly and professional and frankly, worked their butts off. But, when signing the work order, I discussed the way the finishing up was going to look and was concerned about the type of dirt that would be topping off the excavation, in particular the rocks that were being dug up. Matthew indicated two things to me (1) the new line would be bedded in sand or gravel and (2) they had a landscape guy that would finish everything up to where I would be satisfied. (1) no bedding such bedding was applied to guard the new line and (2) the topping off was filled with rocks, big and small...a lot to deal with by a senior citizen. Will I recommend Will's or use them myself in the future, probably. They are probably as good or better than most. But darn, I wish I could have rated them higher. Had they not agreed to my concerns beforehand, I wouldn't have counted these negatives. But, they didn't quite live up to the sales pitch in a couple of areas. BTW: Apparently Will's only posts 5 Stars on their website. You have to come to YELP for all reviews.

Terrible experience with this company. They quoted us an initial fee of $39.95 on the phone, to be subtracted from work done. My husband is the one who stays home, but his credit card strip had worn out and could not be used. Thinking to be straightforward with the company, we gave them a credit card over the phone. They proceeded to stay for 27 minutes at our house (we have email receipt to prove it), fixed a leaky toilet, and then charged us $240.00. Called them three times to discuss, but was referred to the "general manager" who never called back. Lesson learned, NEVER give a credit car # before the work is done. Some people, such as these, will just charge whatever they want with no explanation.

I had two 50 gallon water heaters in my attic (builders should never put them there in the first place) that were about 9.5 years old. One started leaking and the drip pan was also clogged. Thank goodness the pilot went out so I checked it before any damage. I called Will's Plumbing (was after 5 already) and Josh came out the next morning. I was planning to replace both at the same time because of their age and he priced that out for me. Price was right about what I was expecting (lots of labor to get old ones out of attic and new ones up there), and he suggested a single Rinnai tankless water heater to replace both of them. The price was only a few hundred more. Josh and his helper came out and did an outstanding professional job of disconnecting and removing the old tanks and installing the new system. They really know their stuff and do a great job. I'm in the facility ops and maintenance business and I was very impressed.
