Joseph C.So, being new to semi-rural living, I am ignorant regarding our septic system. Eric explained all to me, showed me the primary nasty and other tanks, and recommended a rather distant additional pump date (since there are just two of us with few visitors). Honest, knowledgeable, capable ... that's what you want.
Our lift pump was not working. One of their so-called ""expert technicians"" came out and discovered the breaker was off. He told me that I must have turned off the breaker (to which I replied that I did not) because when he turned it on the pump started to work. He said the tanks needed to be pumped out and he would have someone come out to do that. He replaced the tank lid and left. Later that evening I discovered the pump was not working again and found the breaker off. Each time I reset the breaker it shut off within 4 or 5 minutes. I called my electrician who determined that there was a problem with the wiring going form the breaker box to the septic but that the septic company would need to verify that. In the meantime our tanks were ""full"" and I was very worried about it ""backing up"". I called Williams & Bay and explained the situation asking when they would be out to pump the tanks. Told them their technician was supposed to have them come out to pump. They responded that the technician did not notify them to do a pumping and they would not be able to do so until the next week sometime which they did do. The original technician returned and decided that my electricians diagnosis of a ""short"" in the line was correct and that the line would need to be replaced. We set up a work order with our electrician to replace the line which was completed a number of weeks later. (The line replacement was a separate job done by and billed by my electrician, having nothing to do with Williams & Bay.)
LOW AND BEHOLD I was billed TWICE by Williams & Bay for $159.12 on each bill. Once for the technician to come and mis-diagnose the problem by telling me that ""you turned off the breaker"" and then a second time to verify my electricians diagnosis of a short.
In the meantime I received a flyer from Williams & Bay promoting the number of years they have been in business and they have ""expert technicians"" you can count on and that when they send expert technicians to service your home you can trust we get the job done right. I made a number of phone calls to Williams & Bay regarding the double billing. (The total bill for their ""services"" was $1,318.34.) I was told since they came out it was considered truck time and that I did receive a service performed so therefore the bill would remain. This was all after calling a number of times....leaving messages that were never returned etc.,etc.
I paid all of their bill except for the one bill in question of $159.12.
I then received a ""Final Notice"" bill for the $159.12.
I made a phone call and after they continuously argued with me that they are right and I am wrong they said unless I pay-up they will send the matter to court!
Sean was very nice and worked very quickly. I have watched all our septic pumped every time since we moved in and Sean did the best job cleaning it. He also took great care to make sure that the hoses did not were cleaned off and did not leave anything behind on the grass or sidewalk that our dog might roll in.
Williams & Bay Technician unsuccessfully attempted to clear blocked pipes, apologized for ""leaving you in the lurch."" Their bill for failing to get the job done was $398.
Debbie W.Jason was Great educating uo about out tank. Kodo to this employee. Super great experience. Will be my go to service for sure.
Kate T.Shout out to your employee Cy, for his efforts late yesterday afternoon. After what was already a long (and wet) day for him, he got our septic tank cleaned out and remedied a blockage and still, when all done, was upbeat and smiling. Hold on to this guy, he's a great employee!
*UPDATE: I received a call from the owner of the company and he was very apologetic. He was genuinely embarrassed about the situation and everything was taken care of within a couple hours of our conversation. While my initial experience was a bad one, he was able to make it right by me. Owning up to mistakes and correcting them goes a long way, and he did just that.
I had my septic tank pumped on April 15, 2020. They showed up the day after I called and the guy seemed friendly. As he was pumping the tank, he pulled out the filter to check it and told me that it was the wrong filter for my tank and asked me if I wanted him to replace it, and that a new one would cost $75-$85. I agreed so he removed the old one and took it to his truck to get the new one. He comes back saying that he did not have the right one, but that another employee lives close to me and will stop over in the next couple days to replace it, so leave the hole open in my yard, and to expect an invoice for the $75-$85. OK, cool. I wait for the next 3 WEEKS for someone to show up or to get an invoice emailed to me. Nothing. I finally call them and explain the situation. Lady who answered the phone said she would contact the supervisor or someone of the sort to figure it out, and she would call me back the next day at the latest. No one ever called. I waited another week before calling again. Lady said again, she'd talk to whoever she needed to and call me back the next day. 3 days go by and I finally get a call back from someone saying they have someone in the area, and it will cost $165. Seriously? So I call AGAIN and explain the situation for the umpteenth time, just to be told its because they need to charge for another service call. But again, she will talk to whomever, but they are out of the office and should be back in 45 minutes. It has now been almost 8 hours, and I have heard nothing. Why should I be expected to pay double the price I was originally told, especially when I'm left with a giant hole in my yard for my dogs and kids to fall into, and my tank has been sitting with no filter for 5 weeks?? It is not my fault that the original worker removed the filter before checking if he had the right one, and then took it with him instead of putting it back until the right one could be installed. This is completely unacceptable customer service, and could potentially damage my drain field.
Had a bad scheduling experience although owner called personally to correct administrative error - impressive
