What a disaster. We called Wildwood 4 days ago to install a new Kitchen faucet and filtered water spout. While they were here they also rerouted some of the plumbing under the sink ""to make it more efficient for us"". 4 days later, we have a new kitchen faucet that works like a charm, but now we also have a significant leak under the sink from the new pipes, no water comes out of the filtering spout, and worst of all - they disconnected the water completely to the dishwasher. Over a holiday weekend with a houseful of guests. Hardly what I would call ""more efficient.

4 days of phone calls to get them back out here. 4 days of absolutely no response.

As a property owner of an 80-year old home I used Wildwood a number of times. I thought they were great. But the last time I used them I was charged $870 to replace an electric water heater that had easy access through the garage (no stairs) and the plumber did not even install the pressure relief line correctly. On a different water heater service call to replace a heating coil, the plumber left the hot water supply shut off and it was days before we realized that it was his mistake and not a faulty water heater to blame. Currently I use 49er Plumbing (4 stars) and have had a much better experience with pricing. But they are sometimes too busy to come out for maintenance issues and have to reschedule--which is frustrating. I have also used Gold Standard (5 stars) once and they were reasonable and thorough. Go with one of these guys and avoid Wildwood unless you like paying through the nose.

A few years ago I would have given 5 stars, but this year the new guy has come twice to fix a minor problem with the shower diverter. Not only did he charge me $95. both times-- but the diverter fell out of the spout yesterday! I paid them twice to install a new valve for my claw foot tub, but it still needs to be fixed.

One of the BEST full service plumbing companies in the Nevada County area. Prompt and courteous service with very reasonable rates.

We recently had our toilet go out and had to replace. I called 2 plumbers recommended by the local plumbing supply house in Grass Valley. The first one never called me back and the second was so vague on when he could start the job I had to give up. I called Wildwood Plumbing for a quote. The charge per hour was much higher than the others but I needed to get the job done. They came out the same day and installed the toilet in short time. Very satisfied with the results and would use them again.

We purchased and had installed a new injector pump for holding tank. They could not account for 8 hours charged for installation and would not provide a warranty for the pump that cost $850.00. Only experience with this company, but not a good one.

Well, I read these spectacular reviews and thought, ""this is the right plumber for the job!"". After all, they got 5 yelp stars! So I called them up pronto, and got a hold of someone on their staff. I could tell by the tone in his voice that he was obviously a plumber busy on a job or something, you just could tell... He was kinda short with me, but no biggie. I get it. I told him my deal, that I needed help installing a sink. He said he could help me out & that after he finished with is current job, he'd call me back to discuss the details and to set something up later that day.

Well my yelp friends, its been 3 days since he said he'd call me back, and its... crickets around here. Not a phone call, telegram, nothing. Now don't get me wrong, i realize i live in a small town, and things are done a bit differently around here. Im not dealing with some major corporation with a fancy QA team making sure things were up to par. But not hearing back from a company for 3 days? That's just unacceptable in my book. It tells me 1) they either have too much business for us ""little folks"" or 2) they simply just don't care enough and are resting on their 5-star laurels.

This is my first review posted to yelp. And my hope is that it will serve my fellow Nevada County residents well. Wildwood Plumbing & Drain Service does not deserve their 5-star rating on yelp. Their customer service is meh at best. And when I say ""meh"" i mean, crapsville USA. I mean, c'mon.

My wife hopes they just lost my number. She still believes in them.

*Edit - My wife read this review and claims misrepresentation. She doesn't believe in them after all

I had two outdoor spigots that were leaking. They were the freeze-resistant type. I had no previous experience with them and I found I was unable to disassemble them. In the usual state of exasperation with repairs that should be simple, I called called Wildwood and got Tom. He came out the same day and determined that I needed new Arrowhead air vents and stems. He had to find and order the parts, which came to $68. A couple of days later when the parts came in, he called and returned to install them. That fixed the leaks. The charge for labor was $95. He also showed me why I had trouble removing the parts. You have to open the spigot before unscrewing the cover nut. $163 seems high for fixing two leaks, but given the prompt service, the expense of the freeze-resistant parts which are not well standardized, the time to find the right parts, and the driving distance (about 4 miles from town), it is probably not excessive. In fact, in looking over my bill, I see that he knocked about 10 percent off the cost of the parts.

I've had Wildwood Plumbing over to my house three times. First for a drain emergency that required a camera, then for a couple of routine household plumbing repairs. Friendly and prompt every time, excellent careful work, fair prices. The truck is well stocked too, no time wasted getting parts. Really happy with the service.
