Our basement water heater sprung a leak on a Sunday morning. While I shut the water off and bailed water, my wife first called around to three other, better known companies. Yes, those companies w/24 hour, 7 days/week dispatch. She noted that while they did have someone available on the phone (dispatch) they actually had no one available to dispatch. Then she called Doug Whitmore and he made himself available - purchased the water heater and was at our house within the hour. Awesome. And the price was fair.

We hired him again to reinstall an original bathroom fixture I found in a lost box in the attic (something another firm would roll their eyes over) and he took it on as a challenge. ""Make a fixture from 1928 work again? I'm on it!"" And he did. I will never hire another plumber as long as I live in Sacramento!

A large plumbing firm tried to snake the shower in a 70 yr home. Told us it didn't work and that repairs would be $6800 and take 2 days. Wanting to be careful, called Doug Friday about 9. No answer. He called me back 2 min later, agreed he could see the home at 3 that day. Snaked the line and cleared the blockage. Fabulous service and result. He's our ""go to plumber now"".

We have used Doug Whitmore for a couple of big jobs recently. He was very professional but friendly too. He was always on time and came in under budget. He was happy to work with us in difficult situations. He has state of the art equipment that allowed us to see the problems in the pipes so we knew what we were getting into. The most recent job was replacing a 100 year old cast iron waste pipe interior to our Victorian house; it had a massive crack along the whole length. He did a remarkable job and even had the city inspector say ""nice job."" Personable, neat and professional--it doesn't get much better. We will use Doug again for any future plumbing problems.

Our toilet started leaking from underneath and it was Labor Day weekend. I found Doug on Yelp, called and left a message. He called me back within an hour or two and came out the next day on Sunday of a holiday weekend to fix our issue, no questions asked. He was quick, knowledgeable and very friendly. After an unsuccessful experience with a prominent plumbing firm, I had let several plumbing repairs go unfinished. In addition, the water line under the house needed to be rerouted, which was a major undertaking according to at least 3 other companies, so it too remained on the ""someday"" list.
Then I met Doug Whitmore. Wow! My anxiety melted away as he expertly and quickly moved through the list of repairs, including rerouting the water line. He made the morning so easy for me. Plumbing doesn't have to be scary! Thank you Doug!

Doug is the best. I hired him to replace a the leaking steel galvanized piping under my house with copper, retrofit my hot water heater up to code, and add a sink to my garage. I couldn't be happier with Doug's work or the experience in general. He is a true professional who takes pride in his work and it shows from the beginning. Our water heater failed on Saturday night and we awoke to a flooded basement on Sunday morning. We called 6-7 plumbing/heating businesses and no one (but one) was available to help us on a Sunday. Even the businesses with answering services just told me...""sorry no one on call today, call back tomorrow"". REALLY? Why then have an answering service?

Enter Doug. He called me back within an hour, asked about the dimensions of our hot water heater, arrived with a new appliance, installed it, and gave us sound advice about our electrical wiring and installing a sump pump. All this at a very reasonable rate and less than what we would have paid on a weekday.

We have a new plumber! This is how service should be!!!
