Job done April 2019. What can I say about Doug at Whitmore Plumbing? Absolutely excellent work from start to finish. I was home with the week Doug was at my house doing a re-pipe. Doug was very receptive to my questions and input regarding some creativity that this job required. When it came time for final trim out of the kitchen sink, Doug juggled his schedule to fit me in after my kitchen countertop was delayed. Highly recommend!

Add Doug to your household's emergency contact list! There is nothing is worse when your main water line will not turn back on, you need to drink water/use the bathroom and it is Saturday evening. Doug called us back immediately and came to our house in 20 minutes. Through no fault of ours, our water main wouldn't turn on and we knew it was an issue above our skill level. Doug did not belittle our diy work at all (which a lot of professionals do to guilt us into their services.) In fact, he spent extra time to walk through different options - like a family friend giving us honest advice. He was thorough, professional, and gave us realistic expectations of future wear and tear. He wasn't pushing or pressuring or scaring us into worse case scenarios. His pricing and trustworthiness made us want to hire him for additional work. Look no further for a top plumber in Northern California.

We had a broken water pipe underneath a concrete slab outside the bathroom that was leaking. Our tenants had no hot water. Doug came out & brought a subcontractor that could detect the location of the leak. Once he knew where it was, Doug jackhammered thru the concrete to pinpoint the leak & repair it. He worked Saturday & Sunday in the rain to fix the problem.
We were so impressed with his work ethic, his professionalism & his approach to just fixing the problem, and not quoting us a ridiculous price to re-pipe the entire house for $10,000 like another plumbing company did.

Doug is a great plumber. He has high standards and lots of experience. We had very low water pressure and because our house is about 60 years old, we thought the old corrugated pipes were corroded. I saw Whitmore Plumbings high ratings on Yelp and called him. He came over within a few days and carefully inspected our plumbing and gave us a bid to replace all inside supply plumbing with copper pipe and to replace our shower valves. What convinced me to hire him was that he looked for ways to access the pipes while making minimal holes in the wall. Because we have a raised foundation, he did most of the work under the house. He also replaced some blocked drain pipe in a sink and remounted our toilets. He did all this work for under $9000. Given the skill this work required and the cost of copper pipes and the quality work he did, I think the price was very reasonable. We would hire Whitmore Plumbing again.

Our basement water heater sprung a leak on a Sunday morning. While I shut the water off and bailed water, my wife first called around to three other, better known companies. Yes, those companies w/24 hour, 7 days/week dispatch. She noted that while they did have someone available on the phone (dispatch) they actually had no one available to dispatch. Then she called Doug Whitmore and he made himself available - purchased the water heater and was at our house within the hour. Awesome. And the price was fair.

We hired him again to reinstall an original bathroom fixture I found in a lost box in the attic (something another firm would roll their eyes over) and he took it on as a challenge. ""Make a fixture from 1928 work again? I'm on it!"" And he did. I will never hire another plumber as long as I live in Sacramento!

A large plumbing firm tried to snake the shower in a 70 yr home. Told us it didn't work and that repairs would be $6800 and take 2 days. Wanting to be careful, called Doug Friday about 9. No answer. He called me back 2 min later, agreed he could see the home at 3 that day. Snaked the line and cleared the blockage. Fabulous service and result. He's our ""go to plumber now"".

We have used Doug Whitmore for a couple of big jobs recently. He was very professional but friendly too. He was always on time and came in under budget. He was happy to work with us in difficult situations. He has state of the art equipment that allowed us to see the problems in the pipes so we knew what we were getting into. The most recent job was replacing a 100 year old cast iron waste pipe interior to our Victorian house; it had a massive crack along the whole length. He did a remarkable job and even had the city inspector say ""nice job."" Personable, neat and professional--it doesn't get much better. We will use Doug again for any future plumbing problems.
