We were a customer. Our gas furnace just failed. They would not accept our request for service this morning. Looking for another company.
Unfortunately, the previous owners of our house had Whiteley install a new heating system right before we purchased the home two years ago. We had a leak recently that left a few inches of water in one area near the boiler. Whiteley could not come out until someone else removed all water. We had a plumbing co. remove the water and look to see if they could fix it. They think the problem is with the heating system and recommended we called Whiteley. I called and the customer service dept. did not want to send anyone out to even look at the system since the plumber had looked at it. They declined to even take a look to see what was going on. This seems to support the previous reviews that I read just now. There are many good options on the cape so be sure to do your research. We had great service from Robies for AC .
The most important thing to know about Whiteley is that they are not accepting new customers. So if you are not already a customer, don't bother contacting them.
We didn't know that when we called them last August on the recommendation of a neighbor when our hot water went out. We called on a weekend so we got the answering service. They dispatched a technician. They did not ask us if we were existing customers of Whiteley. We thus had no reason to think the situation was anything but the normal one of contacting a service provider for the first time.
The technician arrived promptly and fixed our problem. The actual plumbing service provided was satisfactory; the problem was the office.
When I attempted to give the technician our contact information for sending us the bill, he informed us that Whitely was not taking new customers. This was the first we heard of this. He said he would have the office call me.
Some days later, I got a call from the Whiteley office. I explained what had happened and asked if we could become regular customers. This person told me she would have to find out more and get back to me. She did not give me a balance due or say she would send a bill.
No one ever got back to us. We heard nothing more from Whiteley until I received an email on January 12 with an invoice. There were no phone calls or emails. No one asked for our mailing address.
In short, Whiteley treated us very rudely. We sought to purchase services from an organization that we thought was a normal service provider, that had been recommended to us. What happens? Whiteley does not want us as customers. Adding insult to injury, Whiteley cannot even be bothered to let us know. Their behavior was discourteous and unprofessional.
Had no heat this morning. Called the main number and they called me right back. They were here within an hour and problem was fixed same morning. The best service i have had from anyone in a long time. The technician, Sean, was the best!! Highly recommend these folks.
Phenomenal service from Whiteley when I had an emergency (water leak) at start of Columbus Day weekend. Special thanks to Debra who went the extra mile to get someone out to my house and to Glen for speedy and timely replacement of expansion tank same day. Whiteley did the plumbing for Cape builder when I did total renovation in 2011 and I've had absolutely no problems until this ""wear and tear"" issue 9 years later. Highly recommend; response and quality top notch.
Whiteley had installed our furnace for the home builder. Today we found out it was never properly adjusted, resulting in no heat for us! They refused to help us out.
Watch out! We have used this company for years but will never do so again. Their technician left without fixing anything this year and when we called to complain, were told that our ""maintenance "" appointment did not include service. Furthermore, they were too busy to even schedule a return appointment. When we finally secured another company, we learned that Whitely had added way too much of the wrong coolant to our main unit. Their error has proven to be a costly repair for us.
Paul G.Just received a call from Whiteley to schedule my fall maintenance. What schedule are they on?
James B.We had been looking to convert our hot water heating system to a forced air system so that we could add whole-house air conditioning and had invited at least 5 companies to submit bids. For the most part, we weren't satisfied with what was proposed until we contacted Whiteley. One company even tried to sell us - at full price - a furnace that had been out of production for 5 years at that point. I just looked back on the email chain with Whiteley and I have to thank Cindy for her patience in dealing with us over the last year+. She was so helpful in getting this project off the ground (finally!) and deserves special kudos. Steve, the estimator, did an excellent job of finding solutions to our concerns and needs and everything ended up in just the way he set out. The installation of the new system and removal of the old took place over three weeks. The crews from the start were neat and courteous and did all they could to make it as non-intrusive a project as they could. The very first day, as they walked into the house, they put down tarps to keep the floors in good shape, being especially careful with some new ones we had just installed. They day they finished and fired up the new furnace was the first day of the deep-freeze that hit us, and it has worked as we had hoped from then on. Everyone did such a great job and I want to thank the installers, plumbers, electricians by name. Hopefully this is everyone, but I may have missed one or two: Brian, Seth, Matt, Cody, Bri, Owen, and Rob. Well done.
Dan P.Beware! Whiteley Plumbing did our whole house when it was built by a Cape builder. For several years we have had numerous leaks to be repaired. At first Whiteley came back to fix them but then said all future repairs were on us. We have gone elsewhere after that to find a firm that stands by their work.
