In June 2011, following the arrival of our child, my wife and I decided to start this business. We aimed to create a better future for him, and with my entrepreneurial spirit and her exceptional organizational skills, we moved forward after landing some significant projects with local contractors. The name ""Whitelaw"" is a tribute to my great-grandfather from seven generations ago, who bore that name. He was taken by the British in Scotland, brought to America, and made to fight against the United States in the War of 1812. Once the British were defeated, he became a citizen of the United States and eliminated the ""law"" from his name. I took it back as a representation of a lost time when business transactions relied on trust and reputation. This is the essence I wish for our business to reflect, along with our dedication to trust and integrity. Our mission is to deliver durable, high-quality installations that will serve you for as long as you need.

Tyler D.Ben is an excellent person. He is calm, thorough, and incredibly focused. He has very fair prices, shows up when he says he will, and gets the job(s) done right. He even told me what was involved with a completely separate issue from the reason I had hired him, and warned me away from spending money on items where I didn't need to.
Ben does great work at a fair price, and is just a nice person to work with. He updated our plumbing and replaced our water heater with minimal interruption in water availability. In the process, he saved us more than $1000 by talking me out of needlessly expensive tankless water heater.
If you are planning a project, call Ben now to get on his schedule!
Basic bathroom remodel turned up an issue that was a bit outside of my DIYer comfort range. After visiting another so-called plumbing company who first misidentified the type of toilet flange I had even with a video, and then told me their plan to fix it (which violated code btw), I got on yelp. I found all these reviews. I called Ben.
Ben correctly identified my issue in 10 seconds on the phone, and I was lucky enough to have him out the following week. He told me several steps I could take ahead of time that would save him time and keep my bill lower. He arrived early in the morning, reminded me of the price range (between easy and worst case scenario), and got to it. 2 hours later, and everything was completed and for less than expected.
When I finished a portion of my job that I thought may require his help again, his schedule was already fairly full and I could not wait. HOWEVER, he spoke to me on the phone for several minutes (even after a 12 hour day of work) and coached me on EXACTLY what was required. He also had a frank conversation with me regarding a job that I would have gladly paid him to do (and would have been highly profitable for him), but that he felt could be a large waste of our money.
Great dude, great plumber. I'll recommend him to EVERYONE.
Ben did an excellent job finishing the repiping that a large plumbing company did not complete. The other plumbing company was lazy and didn't do the hard work. They also didn't clamp the main water shut off valve and left other pipes dangling. In comes Ben and his assistant, Dave. They repiped the kitchen sink and 2 bathrooms which included cutting through walls. They kept the plaster dust from spreading throughout the house by building a tent. I am skepticle about contractors and I worry about potential damage to an 86 year old house. This is the first time I felt great about the work that was done and without me getting stressed out. I cannot speak high enough on how happy I was with the quality of Ben's work. He is very conscientious and has a very high work ethic. Now I have finally found a great plumber to do all of my work in the future.
Ben was great. He was personable, and clearly very knowledgeable about plumbing. My hot water heater started leaking one night, and I frantically reached out to as many plumbers as I could to ensure I could receive next day service. Ben replied early the next morning and came within 24 hours of my initial contact. He quickly fixed the problem along with other minor concerns I had around the house, and fairly identified a few issues that needed attention. Ben ended up doing four to fives times as much work as a previous plumber I've had come out for only twice the cost. That said, his prices were extremely reasonable for great service and quality parts. Highly recommended!
Ben is amazing. He fixed our kitchen drain today. He was quick in figuring out how to bring it to code and approve the draining by setting up a new configuration for the drain piping. He set to work immediately after figuring out his plan. He was very neat. He finished earlier than his initial estimate which ended up saving me. He actually had a stop watch on his phone to keep track of the minutes and he quoted physics in explaining how the drain pipes should run. When he finished he looked proud of a job well done as he should have. It was a huge upgrade over the original.
Had Ben re-pipe my 1950's home and he did an amazing job! He is very skilled and his work is beautiful and top notch. He truly cares about his work and clients, going above and beyond. He's a great problem solver and is really good with helping you find the right parts for your application. My wife and I were very satisfied with the work/price and would gladly recommend to everyone. He's definitely the only plumber I'll use.
Fail. Apparently too busy to even respond. I sent email as directed by their answering machine. No response received, not even ""sorry we're so backed up"". Just ignored. I'm sure that's indicative of the customer service I'll receive.
Pamela B.Ben is a busy guy, but definitely worth the wait if you want a quality plumber with fair prices. I had three plumbers come out and give me quotes for a cracked pipe that needed replacing in my crawl space. Ben's final bill was $300 less than the others, and he was the only one who didn't try to upsell me on all sorts of other repairs. He kept track of his time at my house to the minute, and was really efficient with his time - left here to go to another job while waiting for pipes to dry out, etc. Highly recommend Ben and would definitely use him again.
Frank J D.Very impressed with Ben. Prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable, concerned about high quality, fairly priced, happy to answer all my questions. Obviously knows his craft and is an excellent communicator. Very positive experience. He rebuilt a toilet and replaced the drain in a bathroom sink. He and his assistant were in and out in less than 90 minutes. It was a little north of $400, which I thought was reasonable. I'll definitely call Ben for any future plumbing needs. Hopefully not too often.
