Murray M.DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! If I could give a minus -100 stars I would. Nightmare scenario, incompetence, unprofessional, shoddy work, and the owner Eric Demeo is a HUGE LIAR!! Talks a good game, delivers on nothing. Hired to replace my entire HVAC system. Eric claimed to be a preferred diamond Mitsubishi contractor which was also a lie. Was promised a two day install, took over 3.5 months and never finished!! Left the jobs a huge mess, had to hire a roofer to fix a hole he left with a pipe dangling out! Nothing but delays and excuses. Tried to do electrical work on his own and he's not a licensed electrician, I had to hire and pay an electrician to fix his failed attempts. Never passed inspection and he stopped responding to texts, calls and emails!
I was forced to hire another HVAC company, BRIGGS MECHANICAL. Outstanding! They were amazing, They had to reset lines, install pans under units, reclaim all refrigerant, reinstall proper amounts, set and mount air handlers (he left the wobbly and crooked), rerun PVC piping, re-run pinched copper lines from splitter unit, install 3 kumo cloud devices which Eric claims were installed (no surprise, another lie). Overall a horrible experience. This is not all of it, there's even more details that is not worthy of my time to articulate. I just hope people can see this review before hiring this pretender. Contractors like Eric give the HVAC industry a black eye. He takes no pride in his work and has a major lack of integrity!
This guy is scamer and fraud he took money from us , we gave Eric domeo first check in december he told us he put our heating system after new year may max 2 weeks our job is done he bought some stuff and ask us he have to pay electrician so if he can have second check so we gave him second check because we thought he is lical and he took care of us but he is fuul of lies and excuses he tild us gas meter is taaking time to come when we have contact national grid they said nothing is shcedule after 3 months we have contacted town of barnstable to ask if he have permit he did not evan applied for permit and hi insurance is expire too they contacted him mass save contacted him we have file complaint at state attorny office and they knew about this guy and they said they are severel complaints againt him for fraud He drive truck which have white cape plmbing logo and he is doing bussines with other name which is domeo mechanical he lives in 76 field rd Marstons mills , evan chief plumbing inspector of barnstable knows about him and he is going to provide us all paper work becare full this guy posting pics, i have attach his pic too ,
STAY AWAY FROM WHITECAP PLUMBING & HVAC!!! Hired Eric Demeo from Whitecap Plumbing & HVAC in Hyannis, MA. We scheduled an appointment for 9:00 AM on Friday, May 12th. The work was to be done on a summer condo. I live off Cape and traveled just under two hours to meet Eric at the my location. NO SHOW at 9:00 AM. Left multiple calls for Eric with no response. Finally spoke to him at 12:30 PM. He indicated that he would call me back within the hour to provide me his ETA. NO RETURN CALL. Left multiple calls for Eric with no response. Then, finally spoke with him at 5:30 PM and he indicated that he will call me back within the hour. NO RETURN CALL. He was aware that I had the other trades (i.e. Framers, plumbers, electricians) coming in and his part of the project needed to be completed before the other trades could do their work. Have left multiple messages once again. NO RETURN CALL! DO NOT HIRE ERIC and WHITECAP PLUMBING. There are much better options available to you.
I had DeMeo recommended by Angi. I spoke with Eric DeMeo on the phone about my issue. He said that he could do the job on a Wednesday. Well, Wednesday came and went and no Eric. I called him and he asked if he could do it on another day. I said I wouldn't be in town but, I would be back for a week in a month. He said, call me a week before you arrive and I'll make you a priority. I called him a week before I went back to my house and he said he would text me on Monday as to when he could come and do the job. Monday came and went, Tuesday came and went. I called him on Wednesday and he came over on Thursday to assess the job. He understood what was required and we tried to nail down a day and time. He said that Friday was hard for him so, I told him that he could come on Monday because I would still be in town. On Sunday, I made contact with Eric through text and he confirmed that he was still coming to the house on Monday and gave a time of 1pm. Monday came and so did 1pm and no Eric. I sent Eric a text with no response. At 230pm, I called Eric and he answered and said he had an emergency in Provincetown (90 minutes away) and once he finished, he would call me and come do my job. That was the last time I heard from him. I sent him texts later that Monday with no response as well as Tuesday to set up another appointment (I don't know what I was thinking by this time). I never heard from him again. Then I Google his business and I read the reviews and wish I had Googled his business weeks before, the stress level would not be as bad. I will end my review by apologizing for it being so long and also add that I NEVER write reviews. You really have to make me angry for me to go to the extent of writing a review.
Eric did quick exceptional work 2 years ago which is why I called him back for work with my heater and kitchen. Unfortunately, he and his team have become very unreliable and grossly incompetent. The work that I paid for was not completed. In addition, the installation of a disposal was incorrect resulting in leakage under the sink, and a dishwasher not draining. These are basic things that are even outlined in the instructions. He and his team do not know what they are doing, they are very unreliable when it comes to timing and at this point, he is not even responding when the job is clearly not done yet (even after I paid him the full amount). Beware of DeMeo heating. They are unreliable, dishonest and incompetent. If I could leave zero stars, I would. It will be my personal mission to ensure that these guys do not get any more work in the Cape and not further victimize customers.
Be forewarned, VERY,VERY expensive. My A/C was not working. Everyone on Cape Cod is busy and I thought I was lucky this guy called back.
I felt taken advantage of. I don't mind someone making a profit but this
was highway robbery.
I should have watched while he changed out the parts new for old.
I should have had him give me an invoice explaining exactly what he
did, what he replaced and why. He gave me a list of parts and the
prices. I was under a strain (my husband had passed away) suddenly I was responsible for these things that come up. I paid the bill, with a check. The next day I regretted it, stopped payment ( long story short the bank mistakenly told me I did not need the check number, I DID) I told Eric DeMeo, he was upset. I said, ""I WILL PAY YOU,I just need a day to ask someone about your prices"". Was told it was high by a few people, but said The cape is expensive, but this guy is very high. I asked Eric if he could take some money off. He agreed to taking some off. I sent him a new check, and he went and cashed BOTH checks. I did not find out for a week. He feigned innocence and said ""must have been my accountant"". I asked him to Venmo me my money back, as I had bills coming out of that account automatically. He said he could not for ""legal"" reasons ???? After two days of anguish on my part he finally paid me. Actually waiting for the check to clear as we speak. I read a review (too late) on his FB page. He also was way overcharged and they got him to agree to pay back $500. $250 a week for 2 weeks. He never got his money and Eric does not answer his calls..... be warned. I don't know this guy sleep at night.
