Angela H.Had to buy new ac/furnace. Lester came out to give us quote. Was very informative and upfront. And assured us of ability to get a crane into our community for a rooftop unit replacement. A few days later, Rick C. And Todd came to install new unit. Both were great. Explained things as they went and were professional. Very happy with this company!!!
Fred C.I had Whipple install two toilets and a disposal. Excellent quality products and excellent quality service. However, when I called to set up an appointment to have my air-conditioning system serviced, I reached an answering service. They either didn't send the message to Whipple or Whipple dropped the ball. I ended up calling someone else.
Extremely disappointed. Had a service call to install a new motor in my swamp cooler. They quoted me $800+ for a $95 part. Plus they wanted $300+ to install a $15 pump. I would say that this is extreme price gouging. I could buy a top end new cooler for less than that. Need less to say I told them to leave. I bought the parts at Home Depot and installed them within 2 hours. As a business owner myself I left a message to have the owner call me. I wanted to share my experience with him that I received. 4 days later I finally get a call on my wifes phone from 1 of the managers. Left a message 2 days ago and still have not talked with anyone. I guess they don't take bad reviews very seriously.
Marcus their General Manager did call back today and explained that there pricing is based on an Associations average pricing model...7 other companies subscribe and have similar pricing, while other companies have higher pricing. Long story short he did finally call back and offered to refund my initial service call charge. I told him that I wouldn't ask for them to do that. They did come out and their service tech does need to get paid.
Briant B.Over priced and under delivered. I was in a pinch getting my house ready to sell so I called. Guy comes out quotes me just under 700 $ for two supply lines and a new drain assembly on my clawfoot tub. I'm thinking I need it on the market this weekend so why not. The over priced plumber goes to Ace buys to cheap ass braided supply lines (you can see them as it's a clawfoot tub) leaves the tags on . The drain assembly was never purchased he just used my old one and didn't even clean it . He jacked the wall up moving the clawfoot tub and left a knee pad under one of the feet as it wasn't level (my knee pad). He asked where the shut off valve was so I told him to use the meter shut off at the street he doesn't and turns my sprinkler valve instead( leaked for two weeks in the back yard unnoticed till the city sent me a letter . I had sold the house when I got the follow up call to rate my plumber. As you can imagine I lit the poor lady up like a Christmas tree and asked for her boss to call me . Never happened. Go read other reviews and you'll hear similar stories and stories of them inflating reviews
Shawn E.Very nice and they answer their phones very quickly. They sound professional from my brief experience, but they were asking for $44 for just a quote on the job whereas plenty of other companies were willing to quote for free. They aren't too competitive though from my very brief experience.
I can't attest to their service when you can get a technician, but I won't make the attempt again. My AC wen't out in the evening. I called Whipple to arrange service for the following morning. The receptionist took down my info and told me a tech would call me. at 8:00 AM the next day I called again to see when the tech would be here. The receptionist again took down my info and told me a tech would call me. At 10:30 I called again, having had no call from the technician. They apologized, then took down my info and told me a tech would call me. When I called again at 12:30 they offered, again, to take down my info so a tech could call me. At that point I told them to forget it. I'd rather cook in my uncooled home than wait another half day for no one to contact me.
Since we were only going to get a quote at tjis time, we wrre told it was not worth his time to come out. He had more important customers to help. I called to speak to his supervisor and she was on the phine snd was going ti call me back. That was 45 minutes ago. Other companies in our area have no problem giving us a bid. We will NEVER call this company again for anything.
Frank S.My wife and I scheduled an appointment to have Whipple give us a bid on a new furnace and A/C combination. On the day of the appointment, my wife and I both took time away from work to be available for the appointment. Whipple had promised that they would call 30 minutes before the scheduled time, instead, the call came exactly at the appointment time. The first question Craig asked was if we planned to start the work today. When we explained that we wanted to get additional competitive bids Craig said that he had people who want to start right away and it wasn't worth his time to bid on our job. This company claims to be ""service champions"" but how can you be a champion if you aren't willing to compete? Whipple clearly doesn't care about you or your home, just your money.
Hired a technician to come an fix a dripping shower head. The technician spent over 6 hours working, ended up replacing nearly every valve (which, as far as I'm aware, he plans on charging us for). However, by the end of the 6 hours the shower head leaked much more severely than when he started his work.
Also, the technician neglected to re-fasten the shower handles, and the associated screws are now nowhere to be found. Our shower drip went from a minor annoyance to a now unusable shower.
I'll absolutely steer clear of Whipple in the future. I'd advise everyone else to do the same. The technicians seem to be grossly incompetent at best and downright sinister at worst.
My furnace died and I needed to get things fixed as soon as possible. The problem was diagnosed. Jason did not try to pressure me into buying something that I didn't want. Joe and Tony were able to get a new furnace installed the same day, which was great. I felt like they all wanted the best thing for my situation. They even put up with my crazy dogs. I didn't want to have to get a new furnace, but I'm glad I was able to get the problem fixed quickly.
