Our house had standing water in the bathtub, 1 toilet wouldn't flush, and the other was starting to get backed up sewage. I called another plumber and was told that as soon as somebody was available I would get help with my plumbing emergency. After a long wait, I decided I just couldnt keep waiting and I called Westphal to see if I could get some help.

Keith was able to get to my house within the hour, just as promised. He snaked our main line and was able to break up all the tree roots and junk that was causing our issue. He was very friendly and got us back up and running very quickly. Our drains are flowing the best they ever have since moving in, and I am very pleased with the service from Keith.

I would definitely recommend Westphal if you are in a plumbing emergency!

Do you need things plumbed?

Do you need things UNplumbed?

Maybe you just need to figure out if something has to be plumbed or unplumbed?

You're in luck! Westphal plumbing can do those things and a lot more! If you think to yourself, ""What are the things a plumber does?"" then Westphal can do ALL of those things! And they do it without trying to RIP YOU OFF!

Is that worthy of a five star review?? YOU BET YOUR BUTT!

I don't know what the plumbing service is like, but I didn't appreciate the van driver blowing his horn behind me 3 times yesterday while I was making a right turn off Stanley onto Valley. The light was red, and I was checking to make sure it was clear to turn. I was shocked at this reaction and surprised that it was a company van. After this, the driver was driving erratically and speeding in and out of traffic on Santa Rita Road. The license number is 10824B2. It was Fri 12/22 11:35. If the driving courtesy is reflective of this plumbing service, I would never use this company.

Fast, polite, knowledgeable, and got the job done fast. I had roots in my sewer line and they had good equipment to take care of the problem.

This is a long story, but Keith and Chris at Westphal helped fix a pretty difficult issue.

My water softner resin bead membrane ruptured, leaked, and caused havoc in the water pipes. The plumber I have worked with in the past, Travis, at Caltech Plumbing (https://www.yelp.com/biz/cal-tech-plumbing-union-city) , was busy and could not come. He is really good by the way.

Another highly rated plumber came and replaced water heater instead as we were seeing it as a water pressure problem initially, not having dealt with anything like this before. The heater was old, but working perfectly, so I went ahead with it and replaced it. A big bill, not even realizing that it was a water softner issue. All lines were flushed of the beads at that time, but the downstairs bathroom's toilet flush had no water. Changed the angle valve and supply line, no help. There was no water coming from the copper pipe. Something was stuck pretty bad inside.

Then, I called several plumbers from the area, some said no right away over the phone that this is something we cannot help with. Some came and tried, such as using air compressor to blow the blockage, and some rightly suggested cutting the wall and re-routing the pipes to the toilet flush and leave the one stuck alone.

Finally, with Travis's recommendation, I reached out to Keith at Westphal plumbing. He made a hike from the Livermore area, and came out to look at it. He tried, but had no luck. Then, we worked out a plan to try several things with cutting the wall and re-routing as the final option.

He came in and his partner, Chris (aka ""balls"") brought a real bad boy to create water pressure from neighbour's hose as my water was shut off. We tried several things to blow the blockage off, but it didn't work. Finally, Chris had an idea we tried with some engineering through the pressure jet and viola, there was water coming out from the other side. After nearly 2 hours, we had success.

Keith and Chris at least tried everything before cutting the wall and had the right idea, plan, preparation, and tools to deal with a very difficult issue. He had only experienced a situation like this before once in his career. Nice work and full credit for what you guys did.

I can't say enough good things about this establishment. December 2016 we discovered a leak under our house that the previous owners had not capped correctly. We went through home insurance, they sent someone out a week later (meanwhile we still have a leak). When the plumber got here, he assessed the leak, said he couldn't access it and we would have to go through a restoration company to access the pipe because the ground was wet, that the process would be expensive. All in all, he was here 15 mins and gone. I thought we would have to cancel Christmas. We called Keith because we had used him before and we knew he was reliable. We would deal with the insurance company later as the leak was our main concern. Keith sent out Matt a few days later. Matt showed up on time, assessed the leak, CALLED ANOTHER PERSON to guide him while he crawled under my house to cap the leak, and the repair wasn't too expensive and we got some money back by filing a claim with the insurance. A month later, after coming back from vacation, I turned on the water in my bathroom, only to hear a loud gushing sound. We looked under the house and sure enough, water everywhere! The seal had come off again and now the water was gushing. We turned off the water, and called Keith panicking. THE VERY NEXT morning, Keith and Matt both showed up. Matt got under the house, Keith guided him through the process of fixing the leak and they did not charge us for the repair. I love these guys. I love that they were respectful of my home, my time and my wallet. They are professional, kind hearted, family oriented and local. They are on speed dial. Also, I see their trucks a lot when I am around town running errands! That makes me happy because I know I paid for the best!

We had a huge sewage backup into our house and didn't know it was backing up to the back of the house that isn't used much anymore. We couldn't find the block and After several attempts of snaking, the blockage was still there.
Through our son in law, he suggested Westphal Plumbing to come snake the entire house; called on Sunday and on Monday we were told some one would be here at 1pm.... And sure enough some one was here.....
The guys were polite, and explained exactly what happened and what they were doing. Even tho the back room and bathroom will probably need to be torn out, they were clean and neat....in a bad situation.....they will be our number 1 plumbing company whenever the need arises.... And by the size and amount of roots that came out, we'll definitely need them again!
Thank you Westphal for unblocking the pipes, after a week of using the Shop Vac EVERY TIME we showered or did a load of laundry....... Water water everywhere!
Not any more.....

I called Westphal after having another plumber out to 'fix' a sewer pipe problem. These guys were amazing, and they know their plumbing inside and out. They diagnosed my problem (it wasn't easy), explained what was wrong, and fixed it quickly. They also took time to answer all my questions, and I had a lot. Ask for Matthew if you want a first-rate, friendly guy with great communication skills. These guys can solve a mystery and fix the root of your problem, not just apply a band-aid solution.
