This is a very DISHONEST company with HORRIBLE customer service. Basically they had tried to give me the wrong, cheaper and lower model Carrier AC unit initially for a higher price and only after I disputed the transaction with my credit card company did they finally agreed to install the right unit (per our contract) but very hastily and never did a final walk through or showed us how to maintain the system or clean the filter. Fast forwarded 7 months later when I tried to use the AC again, it was blowing out hot air and I wonder if they even installed it properly in the beginning. When they came to diagnose the problem they blamed us saying that the compressor blew because we never clean the filter and made us pay $1280 for an extended labor warranty before they would install another compressor for us, even though we are still under warranty, and also took our old compressor ""because it's the company's policy"". I reluctantly agreed but I said ONLY if it's with Carrier like what the technician Mike had promised, because I don't want to deal with this type of FRAUDULENT company any longer, especially not for 10 years. Because I didn't trust them, I then called Carrier after the installation to confirm my extended labor warranty with them but as expected Carrier said that they have no record of labor warranty and that WSHS is not even their distributor. LIES AFTER LIES, all they want is QUICK MONEY. I'm surprise they are still in business with their horrible service and exaggerated price without any accountability. I'm planning to take them to court and explain everything to the judge. I've also called my credit card company and disputed the transaction. Please do your research and check their reviews especially the BAD REVIEWS because you may avoid being in my situation causing unnecessary stress and headache.
UPDATE: Exactly one month after the new compressor installation, hot air is blowing again. I've given up on this ongoing NIGHTMARE and called another local AC company who came by today (6/20/18) and diagnosed a leakage in the system. I have to pay more money to pump new refrigerant. If after reading this review and you still decide to go with them, then GOOD LUCK because you'll need it.
Since moving back to Arizona! Jason and the entire team at western states home services has been the best hands down, honest, ethical, knowledgeable and a breath of fresh air, before choosing this company I did a lot of review searching on google. facebook, especially review buzz. They have over 260 five star reviews with other sites (review buzz) and not sure why they are only 2.5 stars with yelp? They are A+ with the bbb and I hear nothing but good from this company! I wanted to leave my feedback on yelp as they are the best that me and family/friends have dealt with in the valley. I will definitely continue to use them on a regular basis and thank you western states

We used Western States to replace our Heating and Cooling System over seven years ago. We couldn't have better company to install our new system. They still come religiously every six months to check the system for the season for free. Steve Foster is the best technician we ever met. He does incredible job. The best company hands down.
Two weeks ago my air conditioning went out on a Friday at 1:00 p.m.. Phoned Western. Man came out around 4:30. Told me I needed a part but that the parts company was closing and not open on the weekend. Heat wave - Arizona - and not open 24/7!!!. Took my dog to PetSmart for the weekend and I checked into a hotel. Monday morning started to phone the company. They said they were having a problem getting through to the parts company. Finally, on my third call to Western, around Noon, they stated that the repairman would be out here between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. I asked them to phone me when he was on his way. Got home around 1:30. There was a ladder against my home but no repairman. Another call determined that he was headed for Tempe (where he was picking up the part). He arrived around 4:00. Fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Unless you love poor service find another company. This one is not worth all the aggravation. Karen M
Came home on a 115 degree day and my ac unit was out. A friend referred me and I got a call from.thr general manager Tony saying he was going let me know how long it would be before soomeone could come out. In less than an hour Mike was here and looking at my AC. A cap to run the compressor was broken so Mike was able to easily replace it and had cool air coming out within 10 minutes.
I would gladly recommend their services to anyone!
Doug C.I see all these carpet reviews and they are all over the place. I have used their air conditioning division and have had a great experience. I have never been oversold, even when I directed the conversation that way. Our ACs were almost 18 years old and they have services then for the past 11 or 12 years. I've had other companies once or twice in between and they were fine, but Steve Foster, from WS, has always been great. He has installed while systems for friends and this year we knew we needed it. He recommended we get a new motor a couple of years ago and he matched a price from another friend who sells them and installed it the next day. I looked at 3 different companies and researched online for a couple of months. I had decided I would get a higher SEER rating and probably not the brand we eventually went with, Rheem. I looked closely at the reviews and when they were posted and how different companies fared in the desert heat over the years. I saw some bad ratings on the Rheem brand, but most were a couple of years past. Bottom line, I am trusting my friend, who has serviced our units for years and bought the 2 Rheem systems. They have been quiet and my 1st comparable bill was over $150 less and it was a hotter month. Yes, they are new units vs 18 year olds ones, but it is still $150+. Ten year warranty which I don't think will be needed as most AC systems last longer. I had referred them without having new ACs and my friends have not complained at all and were thankful for Steve and Western States. Now I can refer based on new units being bought and installed. Highly recommend WS and ask for Steve Foster. Tell him I referred you. I don't get any money it anything, I just like people having good experiences buying large items.
Thanks Western States for sending Chris out to do my summer inspection. He was very professional and had a great personality. You can send him out every time if I have a choice. Keep hiring people like Chris and you will always have satisfied customers.
I can not understand why it cost me $1,800.00 for a hot water heater. I called and was told that the installed(Chris) had to repair the floor, that was not true as he used the existing floor and my drip pan. The manager said that they would install a new floor for cost and they did. The installed (can not read name) did a great job and I am happy with that. I still can not understand why it cost $1,800.00 for a 40 gallon hot water heater. I wish someone would/could explain that to me. Dorothy
Brad B.We have chosen to terminate our three contracts for AC/heating maintenance on our three properties in Mesa. Every time we call the Chandler office, none of the service representatives say that they are unable to assist us, but only Tony can handle that request.
When we have finally gotten ahold of Tony, he refuses to deal with us and will not prorate our three unexpired contracts and issue a refund of over $800.00..
We are now considering taking Tony and Western States Home Services to small claims court.
