AC issues during a heat wave. I called late in the day and they had someone out the next day. Al was the tech and he was great. Figured out what was going on and got us squared away! Everything is running well now thanks to Al. West Side Oil is a responsive friendly company.

Checked the reviews on yelp for this oil company. I was looking for a plumber and the company reviews were as good as it gets these days.
They were very professional and helpful re my shower trim kit remodel.
They even asked specific questions as to what the problem was before they arrived. Unusual. LOL The young man, John, that showed up was
professional, friendly and knowledgeable as well and was gone in a flash. He will be returning to install a shower trim and vave as well as a bathroom faucet. He really educated me in plumbing possibilities, what should be ordered and plumbing lingo. Remember its not just about the plumber or the technician. Its about the Company and the professionalism as well as thoroughness. Thanks John!

Last night all we knew was that something was wrong with our boiler. We had no heat, and after calling our oil company( who did not answer the emergency line), I called West Side. One of the techs, Jay, talked us through a number of things to try, and the heat came on, but did not turn on the rest of the night. After a sleepless very cold night, the house was 48 degrees this morning. We called West Side back and Jay came down. He quickly found the problem, and completed the repair at a reasonable price. We are warm again, and very pleased. Knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. That's excellent customer service. Thanks Jay!!

I would highly recommend West Side Oil to anyone and everyone needing HVAC work done. The folks working here are exceptionally knowledgeable.

I had them out to my house to fix an issue where my heat mysteriously turned on while the A/C was running, after two other companies scratched their head at the issue. We went with West Side Oil even though we have a gas system because they are Bosch-certified. Even with a gas system, they demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the system.

Rich and his guys walked me through all of their steps as they worked and answered all of my questions. They made several trips out to my house and tried several different things to fix the issue. It looks like the last thing they tried may have worked (fingers crossed) - it looks like a freeze protection guard was malfunctioning, causing the heat to kick on after the A/C had been running for a while.

And to be clear, even though they had to try a few things before solving the issue, the other companies I worked with couldn't even venture a guess as to what was causing the issue. Rich had several ideas and talked through all of them with me. He even did some additional research after the first two things didn't work.

We will be going with West Side Oil for all of our HVAC needs!!

Love family owned companies! They stand by their service and live up to the expectation of the service you would expect from a small locally owned company. Work is fast and efficient and best of all they leave the work area clean when they finish the job. They are a one stop shop for alot of home services.

West Side Oil has always been very prompt, courteous and knowledgeable -- both in oil delivery and also in maintenance and repair. I have used West Side Oil for the past 9 years for both oil delivery and service.

This year West Side started a customer loyalty program where you get $.01 off for every year you are with them -- it starts to add up after a awhile. They also have budget programs so you can spread out the cost of your heating oil over the year.

Skip, Lisa, Rich, John and Dan (I'm missing a few names here) have always been great to work with. Yes, occasionally they may be 10 or 15 minutes late to an appointment but that stuff happens (David S seems to have had a rough day when he wrote his review). They've always been on time for me and always get the job done without any issue.

Heating and cooling systems are complex and it takes someone who is knowledgeable with the equipment and the tools required to keep everything in top shape. West Side's team has a broad understanding of all the systems and tools.

This year I had a big investment in my house. I had West Side install a new Buderus furnace with a Riello burner and Vaughn hot water tank. The guys started around 8 and didn't stop until 6:30 at night. That's what I call dedication to get a job done. Rich Chapman wouldn't leave the jobsite until he was satisfied and comfortable everything was done. How is that for service!

Thanks to West Side for everything and consider supporting a great local family business.

Like many others, I got on the bandwagon to convert from oil to natural gas heating. I solicited bids from 3 companies, and invited each to my house to advise us and give quotations. I also advised our oil company, West Side Oil Co., to stop oil delivery pending this change. When I called West Side, they said that they also did gas conversions. Since West Side has been good to work with in the past, I invited them to bid my gas conversion.

Rich Chapman handles West Side's gas conversions. Upon arrival to evaluate my home, he set himself off from the competition by performing a detailed analysis, measuring my home to determine its exact requirements. Rich and his crew are highly professional, and he analyzed the site with a lot of attention to detail. I gained confidence knowing he was not just the salesperson, but the person who would be doing the job. He spent a good hour with me, explaining details about the installation, operation, and schedule for the job. He recommended the modulating Triangle Tube boiler, and explained its benefits over the nearest competitor, Buderus. By comparison, the other bidders spent only about 15 minutes at my home, and just said they would identify their offering in their bid (one didn't even do that). I was pretty sold on West Side, as long as their bid was reasonable. They came in at the middle of the bids, so I opted to use them for the conversion.

Before starting the job, it was necessary for the utility, Yankee Gas, to approve a previously abandoned pipeline from the street to my house. This approval took about 6 weeks, so Rich had to wait awhile to get started. Eventually, the approval was made, and Rich scheduled the job within the next three weeks, consistent with the lead time estimate he had given.

Rich Chapman promised to arrive and work three straight days until the job was completed, and he made good on that promise. The initial work involved running the gas pipe from the meter location to the planned furnace location the house. West Side included several additional valved ports to simplify the connection of future gas appliances, something the other bidders did not indicate. The line was pressure tested, and was approved by the town inspector. The inspector commented what a good job West Side had done on the line.

Then Rich proceeded with the installation of the new furnace. This task required the existing hot water tank be moved and temporarily repiped, to keep it operating during the conversion. West Side then installed the furnace, attaching it to a basement wall. In addition to their other skills, Rich and his crew are experts in concrete drilling, and easily handled installing the inlet and outlet vent pipes through the concrete foundation. Yankee Gas will not turn on the gas until the furnace is ready for a flame test, so Rich and his crew attached one heating zone to the new furnace and prepared it to be tested.

Yankee Gas cooperated in getting their technician on-site to complete the test the same day. The gas was turned on, and everything worked as expected. While waiting for the Yankee Gas technician to arrive, Rich and his crew installed piping, valves and pumps as needed for the other zones, up to the point of connecting to the existing line. Heat in the other zones and hot water were maintained on the old system. The final day, the new hot water tank was installed, and the new pipes were connected into the existing heating system. After only a few hours of no-heat, Rich had the new system running throughout the house. The existing furnace, hot water tank, and oil tank were then removed along with extraneous piping no longer needed. They cleaned up thoroughly, and we were happily converted. The inspector came the next day, and commented what a great job West Side had done. He specifically noted the attention to details in the instructions, the use of additional valves to facilitate future maintenance, and the overall clean appearance of the installation.

I was very pleased, as I have been in the past, by West Side Oil Co, and plan to keep working with them for any future maintenance needed.
