im not easy to give 5 star reviews, Mike installed a toilet in my older house, mounting plate was old plastic and disintegrating, Mike installed a steel ring, took the time to do it right where many others would have just made the quick install and out. Great install would definitely recommend Mike for any plumbing job where you can trust him to get it right!

Thorough and professional
West Plumbing came to our rescuing for a plumbing leak. German was extremely thorough in tracking down our leak. Cudos to German. We recommend this expert plumbing service.

German and his son did a superb job removing my old water heater tank with the new AO Water Heater tank from Lowe's.
What made me decide to go with West Plumbing is German and his son. German ' s many years of plumbing experience was very helpful in telling me what was needed to complete the job. German was honest and a truth to the matter type of guy.
German ' s son, who I know as ""Junior"" was so respectful and very diligent in helping his dad.
I was very impressed with the both of them. They did an excellent job and even went beyond. They left my place spotless.
I'm very happy with German and junior. And I will definitely use them again.
Thanks German and junior for a job well done! !!

Mike, Herman and son (sorry! I forgot his name) did an AMAZING job on our new Water Heater purchase AND installation. We had a very difficult situation that required a custom unit that is not easy to get in CA. After 30+ phone calls, web searching and multiple quotes both on the phone and in person to get our hot water back on we found Mike and team at West Plumbing.
We were without hot water for almost a week (the weekend also put a damper on our situation because suppliers were closed). We originally had a Home Depot installer (Fast Water Heater) come out to install a custom order unit. We were at the mercy of using our Home Depot account (and our family's military discount) which is why we chose that solution. Once they arrived, the $2,965 quote without a military discount (since it didn't come from Home Depot, they stated they could only give us $50 off in lieu of the 10%) suddenly became a $3,800 quote with a ton of extra things added on that were ""necessary"" and ""to code"". Buyer beware for Fast Water Heater FOR SURE! We quickly sent them packing on their way and called back West Plumbing and within a 2 hour window, they arrived with our new unit ready to do the installation. He gave us a very fair quote and price with total transparency.
Mike and his team were extremely responsive, courteous, professional AND efficient. After having gone through 6 days without hot water and the multitude of issues we had along the way just to find someone that could actually solve our problem, along came West Plumbing.
We have more projects (not as urgent) in the future that we will definitely be using West Plumbing for and will be recommending them to family and friends as well. You won't be disappointed. GREAT JOB Gentlemen!!!!

The owner Mike quoted me a price $400 more than I was quoted by his assistant AND Lowe's. He then tried to tell me he was giving me a deal and that Lowe's would be charging me hidden fees that I did not know about. (None of this was true.) When I questioned his quote, he told me ""I was confused"". And then quickly said, ""Ok, 1 year warranty."" He is untrustworthy. I ended up going with someone else. If he gives you a quote make sure to price check and get a second opinion.

Awesome plumbing company. They are prompt and show up at the appointment time you schedule. They are fast, clean and honest. They always are the plumbers my parents call and they even listen to my 88 year old dad who talks their ears off. So they are good listeners too and at no extra charge.

COMPLAINT AGAINST MIKE WEST OF WEST PLUMBING WITH LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT 03/31/2017
VERY DISAPPOINTED with Mike West ""plumber"" of West Plumbing. He is very UNRELIABLE and UNTRUSTWORTHY.
CHAIN OF EVENTS:
Thursday, 03/02/2017 evening: We bought a water heater from Lowe's Home Improvement store. In addition to buying the water heater, we paid for the delivery & installation. The sales person recommended West Plumbing to do the installation, so we scheduled for the next day
Friday, 03/03/2017. We were also told that the plumber would take care of acquiring the city permit and be present to meet with the city inspector upon inspection.
Friday, 03/03/2017 morning: When the plumber arrived, prior to commencement of work Mike confirmed his responsibility of contacting the city inspector to schedule and be present for the inspection. We informed Mike that our gates are typically locked & that he needs to let us know the day before to unlock the gate.
Upon inspection of the water heater's enclosure, Mike informed us that the enclosure was not up to code so additional work is required for the inspector to approve our permit. We agreed and paid an additional $$$ to Mike.
Due to time constraints, Mike scheduled to return on Sunday 03/05/2017 at 1:00pm to complete retrofit. We asked if Sunday's rain forecast was a problem, Mike said ""NO! Even if it rained I would show"". We told Mike if he wanted to reschedule that was fine with us, just give us advance notice.
Sunday, 03/05/2017 morning: In the morning, it looked like definite rain so we called Mike & left two (2) voice messages to return our call if he decides not to show up. No return call, so we expected him around 1:00pm. It was now after 4:00pm, he DID NOT SHOW or CALL!
Monday, 03/06/2017, 9:00am: We called Mike & asked why he didn't show up or call us. His LAME excuse was that he thought we didn't want him to do the work that day due to the rain. We agreed to reschedule the retrofit for the following Saturday, 03/11/2017 at 12:00pm. This did not sit well with us. First of all, we reconfirmed with Mike on Friday, 03/05/2017 if he wanted to reschedule the retrofit to the following week due to the forecast of rain but he INSISTED he would be at our house rain or shine. Secondly, we asked that he call us if he changed his mind. Thirdly, we called & left two (2) voice messages Sunday morning stating that it looks like it will rain & to return our call if he decides not to show up. We made three (3) attempts postpone Sunday's appointment but he made NO effort to contact us.
Saturday, 03/11/2017, 12:00pm: Mike & his assistant, Noel (sp?) complete the retrofit ""took 2 hours"". We reminded Mike to call us the day before the inspection so we can leave the gate open. He acknowledged & instructed his assistant to make a note of it on the work order.
Monday, 03/13/2017 morning: Mike calls to let me know that he coordinated an inspection on that day but he forgot to let us know to unlock our gate so he rescheduled the inspection for Tuesday, 03/14/2017 & asked that we leave the gate unlocked.
Tuesday, 03/14/2017: At 6:00am, we unlocked the gate. Upon arriving home at 7:00pm, there is a note from the City of Torrance inspector that he came by but no one was home. So what happened to Mike?????? We are VERY UPSET that this is the second time, he didn't keep his promise.
Wednesday, 03/15/2017: We called Mike in the morning & inquired why he didn't show up the day before to meet with the inspector. He made a LAME excuse that he had to drop off his kid at school around 7:30am. The inspector came to our home at 10:00am. From 7:30am to 10:00am, Mike couldn't make it to our house to meet the inspector in 2-1/2 hours?????!!!!! This is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!! Why is Mike scheduling appointments with the inspector when he can't meet the commitment???!!! We are FUMING at this point! We called & told him it was his responsibility to take care of this and he agreed he would.
Monday, 03/27/2017: We receive a letter from Mike with the permit enclosed, instructing us to call the phone number listed to schedule an appointment at our convenience, which is attached. With this letter was a post-it note saying ""Hello, I guess you had forgotten to leave one of the gates unlocked for the inspection. Just call 310-618-5951."" He never called us to ask us to leave the gate unlocked since the first call on Monday, 03/13/2017. This is not only UNACCEPTABLE but he is now LYING to us & putting the responsibility of the inspection on us. We purchased our water heater from Lowe's on the premise that their contract plumber would handle contacting & meeting the inspector at our home so we did not be home. Mike is UNRELIABLE and UNTRUSTWORTHY! If it wasn't for his assistant Noel, Mike could not have done the job himself, Noel did 70% of the labor! WILL NEVER RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES!

I'm writing this review a few years after the fact because West Plumbing didn't have a Yelp profile at that time. Mike had done an excellent job connecting two large sinks and two small sinks in our lab. Mike was and continues to be very professional. He is my first choice for all of my plumbing needs.

This review is for this contractor through a home warranty protection plan. Initiated work order on a Sunday and expecting them to call to schedule an appointment. Was told Tuesday that they had not been in contact so I called the home warranty protection company. They attempted to reach the contractor Tuesday with no luck. Today is Monday and they attempted again with no luck. They assigned me a new contractor.
We were assigned them once before and they came and ""fixed"" the issue but in less than a month the problem is back. So I don't think the problem was ""fixed"".
Problem was shower drain had water coming up when there is a clog somewhere in the pipe system.
I wouldn't use them for any plumbing related issues.

Ordered a toilet through Lowe's last year and these guys installed it. I was very impressed with the installation, they were friendly, didn't leave a mess, took the old toilet. Just found their card because I'm ordering a new toilet. Was hoping to hire West directly but they are located far away and would have to charge a little more than the Lowe's $99 price so I'll have to go through Lowe's again and hope I get lucky and that West is scheduled for my neighborhood.
