The info they posted on their website says they're open 24 hours but this is a lie. So if you're freezing in the middle of the night don't call them expecting help because they are sleeping and don't have anyone on call to attend to your request for service and they won't tell you that either. You will have to wait until they wake up and feel like doing business.
Heather B.In the five years we have lived in Milwaukee, we have called West Allis Heating five times. Each time, we have been super impressed. Everyone we have interacted with there is so polite, genuinely helpful. They are great at their jobs!
First time: had to replace a 20+ year old boiler. Surprisingly painless process, great communication.
Second/third times: Routine maintenance. Their technicians are super professional and clearly explained everything to us.
Fourth time: needed to replace an ancient valve that was making loud clunking noises because hard water and air bubbles. Easy, inexpensive and they did routine maintenance while they were out.
Fifth visit: the pressure release was peeing on the basement floor, because our expansion tank was clogged. The pro who came out went over our options AND went out of his way to test everything out, managed to clear the clog and repair the tank, remedying the pressure problem. He exceeded our expectations.
Christine O.My husband and I are are truly satisfied with the work that they did. They were professional and courteous. We had many questions and they answered them thoroughly. They were prompt and the work was completed in one day. It was well timed and planned. Technicians were extremely friendly. Great service from the time we called to talk to person on the phone to the installation. Definitely recommend them for any heating or cooling needs.
I thought they did a great job in installing a new central A/C unit. Our old one stopped working awhile ago. I originally thought it could be repaired. But being 35 years old, it died. It took them about a week to get the new unit and about 4 hours to install. This week in the 90 degree heat and humidity, we were comfortable and cool. I have no complaints about their service or people. I would use them again for another HVAC job anytime.
Ralph N.Needed air conditioner fixed.
I would have given 5 stars for service and professionalism of the Technician Tyler.
But I got charged $225.23 for a 500 turbo capacitor that sells for $60.73 at Walmart, and a high of $90.00 at HVAC Services Store.
Talked with a Brian on the phone that seemed irritated when I questioned the high mark up.
I was told that is the price I pay to have a fully equipped service vehicle show up.
So I said than you must buy that part in bulk, and pay less.
His response was I am not going to get into that.
I said I thought the $92.00 service charge was for the truck showing up equipped......conversation kinda dried up after that, and he appeared to be getting a little worked up. So I said good bye, and said I would be writing a review.
Moira C.Had a high efficiency furnace installed 5 years ago and routine maintenance performed 3 times. I recently discovered that the chimney had never been capped off when they switched to venting to the outside.
When I called to ask them to complete the work that should have been done on the installation, the service manager told me they would charge me for the call. I apparently should have discovered this on my own within the first year so as not to pay twice for their mistake.
Very surprised the city inspector didn't notice it either. It explains the fact that my dehumidifier has been running constantly since the furnace was installed.
Live and learn.
Friendly office staff, but no satisfaction on this issue.
Lucinda L.The service technician really rude. Clearly having a bad day and taking it out on the parts he removed from my heating unit. He quoted me a price to clean one of the parts and later charged more on my invoice without telling me. After repair, he storms out of house and started packing up without even checking if issue was fixed. Guess he was super confident in his work that he need not address anything. Clearly will not be calling them again. The office receptionists super nice and helpful. That's the only positive thing. Simple repair was expensive! They charge for diagnosis regardless if they perform the repair or not so think twice about calling them.
Beware of this scam. I would've given no stars if possible. I set up a furnace yearly inspection with West Allis Heating & Cooling. Before setting up the appointment I asked the representative on the phone if they can perform the yearly maintenance on an older furnace - I was told yes. The first technician that came to my house and 12/3 and yelled ""Holy Sh@t"" when he first saw my furnace due to the age of my furnace. The technician stated that he had an issue with working on my furnace so I asked him to leave. I then talked to a manager at West Allis Heating & Cooling about the fact that the technician came into my house and started cursing. The manager asked me to give them another chance and another appointment was set for 12/21. This technician came and stated to me that the furnace was emitting Carbon Monoxide and that he could not work on the furnace and that I would need to schedule a furnace replacement with his company. I stated to him that I just had the North Shore Fire Department and WE Energies to my house to inspect my furnace approximately 1 1/2 weeks prior and they indicated that there were no issues with my furnace emitting Carbon Monoxide or Gas. The second technician indicated that his company policy is to cut off power to my furnace but that he would not cut the power and that I should call his company to have my entire furnace replaced. He then asked me to pay $92 to which I stated that I was never told that I would have to pay if the service was not performed. He told me that I would have to call his company and he proceeded to charge my credit card $92. What is also concerning is that this second technician took a meter to my upstairs vent directly above my furnace - the meter indicated ""0"" for carbon monoxide. His response was ""oh, I don't know why its reading ""0"".
I have since had another furnace company come to my house on 12/23 to inspect the furnace was told that my furnace is not emitting unacceptable levels of Carbon Monoxide and that the furnace passed inspection.
The owner indicated that he would give me a check for $92 if I came to his place of business and signed paperwork that released him from liability. I stated that I wanted to have my credit card refunded because I was never told that the company would charge me if the work was not performed.
Beware of this scam. Especially since the tech told me that he wasn't cutting power to my furnace but that is what his company told him to do. This company tried to take advantage of me - tech told me that I would need to spend about $5000 to $7000 for a new furnace. I feel sorry for unsuspecting customers, especially the elderly who can't afford that kind of monetary outlay.
Shame on you.
Ally R.We found our exterior AC unit was not turning on on Friday night in the peak of the heat wave. My husband called for service has they are local to us and offer 24 hour service. Office staff was helpful and had a tech call us back right away. The tech was SO RUDE. He told us he was too exhausted to come out that night. By that point we had troubleshooted the unit and got it running. We asked if he could still come look at it over the weekend as we have 3 young children and it was supposed to be 93 the next day. He told my husband he couldn't afford a tune up on overtime. WTF? Who are you to assume what we can and can't afford? So tasteless. We ended up going with a different company who didn't act like we were an enormous burden
Their customer service and techs are great (which is why they get some stars). My main issue with this company the owners mark up on parts is insane.
Examples: they charged me $275 for a pressure switch, while installing the new one i found the part on amazon for $25 dollars. I asked the tech why the insane markup and he stated i would need to talk to the owner
They charged $25 dollars to clean a flame sensor which is a $10 part.
